Smoke's not too bad.
Not as dense as I'd like, but it's still a huge improvement. It actually moves and such, and not just... "puffs" out of existence.
Can't wait to get my hands on the game.
Is it just me or is there a different shader/level of sheen to that car? Not in a bad way...that thing is glistening like it was just polished for 100 hours.

Yeah, I like that it seems to not just fly through the car as though it were ethereal, though in a perfect world, I want deeense tire smoke and dust clouds.
It was a coloration thing. There was a line of color between the two doors where it should have just been black. It wasn't a modeling problem exactly, but it was visible in the shot from the Showroom reveal from this past week.
hmmm actually there still is a bug/problem with paint mapping.
take a close look at the front small triangle part of the passenger window.
look right next to the passenger mirror.
it picked the green paint and painted a slim line all the way up to the top end of the door frame.
this needs to be fixed.
I am sure Helios and BadNed will/have already seen this.
Is it just me or do the wheels almost seem to small for this car?

I don't envy having to buy replacements from a local garage if they ever go out on a road trip. I was in the car when two tires got ripped up in an Excursion a few years back (with custom wheels). Jeezuh, I had never seen a repair/replace bill so large.
If they charge for the Nurburgring, I will honest-to-god never post in here again.

Bad news that we're talking $110 so far for the base game + car packs (at a season pass discount), before any tracks, and thats only for the first six months.

Yeah! I feel the same way. If they gonna charge for it I won't buy another Forza for sure. I can understand they might not have enough time to get everything done for release day but anything that wasn't done and meant to be, should be free, no matter what.
I can understand a lot of things but Nurburgring should be their top priority in terms of tracks and should have been done already. If it's free then fine I'll wait till January but if they gonna charge for it then I'm done. I don't care if it's laser scanned or done by Aliens, I won't pay for tracks that were part of the franchise and now are being DLC tracks, hell no!

IRACING has a specific model. it works out for specific people.
I believe IRACING's peak is maybe ....10 thousand online? and total subscribers, maybe less than 100k (sorry if I am wrong, someone drop the correct numbers here)
if by any chance, there exists a STUPID FUCK that thought that its possible that forza will work that way, the rest of you ms/t10 guys, do YOURSELF a favor and throw that guy out asap!

iRacing has little more above 40.000 subscribers that subscribed during iRacing lifetime. I have no idea what is the accurate number of the active members that are paying for the sub. It is never more then 5.000 online and we are speaking about the peaks.

None of these need unlocking with real money, right? Not even the LaFerrari pack, right? RIGHT? It was very same reason I didn't buy Horzion DLC packs, I won't pay for the cars that were already in FM4 and were already done. If you want me to buy DLC give me something new, something that wasn't in the series already.
As I said, it's fine if T10 want to release the track in January for free, for whatever reason it was delayed, but if they gonna try to charge for it or for any other content that already was in Forza series then we'll part our ways for good.

The day-one DLC list lacks the old F1 one as it's been confirmed to be free DLC as well.
I'm preparing for the worst in terms of Nordschleife's price, I have a very hard time believing it will be free even though it should.
Many of us are already dropping at least 570/$ on day one to play the new Forza, it would be a shame to have to pay for what will now be the number one track all fans want to get.

With this kind of "jaw-dropping news", why would anyone( casual or series regular ) want to buy the console and FM5 on day one? What other facepalming news is on the way?
Making us pay for cars that previous versions included. The loss and re-introduction of Porsche( I don't give a footing-tart about the publically accepted reason ). Now, the [subjective] king of tracks showing up two months after the game releases. Without a screenshot or replay to justify the additional time and/or likely expense that will be passed to the consumer. Of course, the ironic recommendation will be, "You don't have to buy it." If Nordschleife ends up being free, I'll swallow my fist.
They never have a problem showcasing special editions or other methods with which to drain money from the wallet. Car Pass? Come on down! Hoodie and sundry swag items? C'mon Forza fans, make it rain!

I'm of the same mind, but unfortunately I can easily foresee T10 choosing cars as DLC that were already in FM4, in fact, looking at the list of cars on Forzacentral that haven't been announced yet, it's entirely probable that we will be getting DLC cars in FM5 that were DLC in FM4.
As for the Nordschleife possibly being paid DLC, it would be a PR disaster of epic proportions for T10/Microsoft to do so, as you can see at the earlier responses in this thread. If some of these people are that pissed off over this issue, one can only imagine the response of the greater Forza community.
At the moment, it seems we're getting Forza prologue, but we are being asked to pay full price and more for it.
Not good. Not good at all.

Maybe the article wasn't very clearly written, and what it's trying to say, is that those times by McLaren, etc will be available to race against in Jan via Rivals or something like that.
If it is paid DLC, then wow.

Gt 5 Prologue was sold for $40 and had like what 70 cars and 6 tracks
Were getting new tracks plus new types of cars to the series, to call it prologue isnt at all correct.

On the subject of the Forza Forums, I use to post and contribute a lot years ago. I had mods editing my posts, not even negative ones, there here recently.
Pissed me off...I'm one of the longest running supporters on the site. Getting "modded" by people that haven't been part of the site for HALF as long as me is downright wrong.
I think that part bothers me the most. I've been a day-one person since Forza 1 and some mod that's only had the job for a few years gets to change/delete my relevant posts.
Edit** Heh, looking at the forum now and a mod posted an "over sized" image. The post below him said something about it. The same mods deleted my own posts when I posted hi-res images before...seems so random, they ignored another one I posted like a page later.

Horizon DLC was more expensive I seem to remember - we got fewer cars. This DLC for FM5 seems on a par with FM4.
Going to buck the trend a little here and say most likely I'll be buying this DLC. I've spent my career from 1997 until 2010 playing all manner of games for various jobs and I'd reached the point of getting fed up and burnt out by them, not having the time to savour them.
But I still loved driving fast cars in games. Since FM4 was released in 2011 I've never spent less than five hours a week messing around with the game. I bought all the FM4 DLC and if I divide it up by hours played it has been very good value.
My wife works lots of evenings and I am home looking after the children. So I don't spend much money on a social life. So I'm happy to spend the cost of a few beers on new cars to play with. Heck before I had kids I spent a lot more on beer I literally pissed away than one can ever spend on Forza DLC each month.
Anyway, because there are few other console games I play these days - I don't play CoD, or BF for example, my hobby has become less about videogames and more specifically about racing games.
I know that my situation is unique. And for many people these DLC packs aren't good value. But for me they offer a good return on an hourly rate. I'd rather buy some Forza DLC than another game I'd play for a week or two then abandon. Much as I've enjoyed GTA5 I've played that less since launch than I've played Forza 4 since GTA released.
Anyway I'll shut up now so you can all run me out of town.
