I thought the Drivatar behavior is based on actual players, presumably the Drivatars would get better as players get better. Also, how diverse would the Drivatars be in the review environment before full release? He complains that they don't get harder to drive against as the game goes on
He could have at least have tried the harder Drivatar settings to see how he got on.

I only play indie games, that are so indie no one has even heard of them to be able to review them!
my last comment on this polygon review:Getting through trees shouldn´t be the challenging part in a racing game.
They talking about enemy AI and you know it.
Come on son..
How is a 80 something on metacritic terrible?
And why are people acting like Polygon took a shit on the game? It got a 7/10 which is still a good score.....
This is funny considering how much the demo which represents a tiny piece of the overall map, has been replayed already.I think a 85 score is a true spot for Forza Horizon 2. Graphics are good but not great and open world games are not a sweet thing for race games... You get tired from the same scenario all the time...

That scale has not been remotely relevant this generation.
my last comment on this polygon review:
the guy who did it doesn't know SHIT.
- he complains about drivatar difficulty BUT he has them set on a non-challenging level
- he says there is no progress, BUT says that game has not one but two different award systems in place
- he complains about drivatars causing crashes, BUT he himself does not set them on high levels
- he complains that the game doesnt ask too much (pretending to be some fm hotshot), yet anyone who knows forza can understand from his description that he is as unfamiliar to fm as he is to horizon. example, he says that taking on your rival, pays HIM significally less that competing the next event. well, the only way that this happens (given his settings of mid-level drivatars, auto trans, no damage, rewind on, etc) is that the times he writes on the races are completely ROOKIE times, thats why the next opponent to beat pays little (the next faster rookie on the leaderboard)
if he was such a big forza player, he should know that since many years..
I am also willing to bet that he put all that judgement about controls, fidelity etc, without even trying the game on the wheel.
I mean, if you are gonna play it like you are some hotshot simhead, DONT FUCKING PLAY WITH THE PAD ASSISTS AND COMMENT ABOUT SIM FIDELITY.. to those people that understand, you come across as a fool.
also the same holds for dishing the difficulty and reward he feels, while on the same time explaining that he ...erases any mistake he makes by ...rewinding..
I could write more, but it aint worth more of my time. but trust me guys, this dude aint a simhead that has legit complaints. he is a poser. a transparent one.

for the love of god... can we have ONE review thread without this fucking thing?

Some people don´t like the game as much as you guys want them to - now what?
Who fucking cares? They don´t determine the fun YOU will get out of it.
It´s not click bait and they don´t want "attention" - it´s how they feel about the game.
HOW DOES THAT GET TO YOU?
Great reviews but what's up w/ polygon? Give this game a 7, TLOU a 8, it's like they want attention
For me it's not the number, it's the content of the review itself being off-base.

So I imagine no ABS/TCS/STM, driving line corners only (OFF seems to be impossible for a games reviewer), normal drivatars (how many drivatar difficulties are in this game and where does normal rank? 3rd easiest?)
And back to topic:
Have you all got your tickets for the HYPE TRAIIIIIIIIIIIN?!
polygon has a review of nfs rivals, a similar but inferior in many ways game, and their marks on it are ...8.5
I'm more surprised that they scored Need for Speed Rivals at 8.5 then scored Forza Horizon 2 at 7.0. The Forza review score doesn't really match what they praised the game for. (They mentioned that it got repetitive after 4 hours but that the repetition was resolved by bucket list events). As the population of racers increases I'm sure the ai difficulty will increase as well, especially on expert difficulty if Forza 5 is any indicator. It's super hard to win expert level races in Forza 5.For me it's not the number, it's the content of the review itself being off-base.
NFS Rivals was reviewed by a different person though.polygon has a review of nfs rivals, a similar but inferior in many ways game, and their marks on it are ...8.5
there is simply no consistency.
you can say whatever you like, you can think whatever you want, doesnt change a single thing about what we said here.
and its not about whether it matters or not (it doesnt). its about calling something when you see it. that's its worth. nothing more.
Polygon gave NFS Rivals 8.5!?
It's one of the worst racing games i've ever played. It should have been called NFS: Police, Please Leave Me Alone For Five Fucking Seconds.

Doesn't change the content of the review.NFS Rivals was reviewed by a different person though.
NFS has awful handling. I quit playing after about hour and didn't miss it. I'm glad I used EA Access to play it.
Doesn't change the content of the review.
I've never jumped on Gies, and even this makes me..

That doesn't even makes sense. Every open world game I've ever played, no matter the genre, tends to be a learn by mistake/over time sort of game. Every moment can be tense. That's what makes them so intriguing. In the case of FH2, blasting through trees at night for example, it's a heart pounding situation where you know you could fail at any moment.
When you do pull it off...it feels awesome.
One thing I will say is I never though xbox fans will rage on Gies. I have entered bizarro world. I guess now we can all agree that Gies reviews and opinions are usually terrible.
His reviews and opinions are not terrible, they're just devisive, which earns a very strong reaction on GAF.
No offense, but have you played the game to say this?I think a 85 score is a true spot for Forza Horizon 2. Graphics are good but not great and open world games are not a sweet thing for race games... You get tired from the same scenario all the time...
