Tried to buy the island dlc and saw I had $5 on my account from something. Thought cool, only that it wont let me use it towards the purchase unless I link a credit card? I've been using PayPal and don't want to add another card.

I've had this issue myself a few months ago. Normally use Paypal. But when using MS magicpoints for part of a purchase it asked for a card for the difference, rather than letting me use Paypal. Odd.
I always use paypal on my Xbox, before you actually confirm the purchase it should ask you if you want to use the $5

Become a regular rewinder now as some of those jumps are impossible to gauge accurately from the cockpit view on my first attempt. Thought the expansion looked a little rough from the trailer too but when the sun comes out it's real pretty. Having a blast pissing about in the XR2.
I'm loving the added rally body options on some of the base cars; should we start a comprehensive list on what has received new options since the Storm Island update?

Both of the Renaults had their rally parts when the game originally came out, so they aren't a part of the list.
The only car that IS missing is the Audi Sport Quattro.
Damn, I never noticed the parts for the Alpine all this time, and never bought the 5 before.
Now that I think about it, I suppose the list is mainly comprised of the rally parts from the rally expansion for the first Horizon then.

Just got an XB1 and have played a few hours of this game and am really enjoying it, despite knowing nothing about cars and having barely played any car games. I have a few basic questions if someone wouldn't mind answering.
Will the game force me to change cars at some point? I have played the first 4 championships in a modern supercar and haven't bothered changing my car. Is there any benfit to buying another car and changing the championship?
If I mess up in a race (and don't restart) can I do the race again from the map screen?
Do I get anything if I start to turn off all the assists, and is there a penalty for using rewind? The game feels really easy now but I don't want to make it frustrating.

You can focus on supercars if you want, or you can change it up at the start of each championship.
Eventually you will run out of supercar events, and at that point, the game would force you to change.
No. Not without re-starting the championship.
You get a CR bonus. You can see the bonus multiplier in the difficulty settings.
The penalty for using rewind in FH2 is minimal: having it on lowers the CR bonus and using it wipes out a skill chain.
Maybe you could raise the difficulty a tick. Race a championship. See how it feels. Rinse and repeat. Keep in mind that some Forza assists (in many players' opinions) are more a hindrance than an assist anyway.
Disable Game DVR in Settings -> Preferences.
That shuts off app and user Game DVR, which is why we really need two do different settings or per-app settings.

This might be a weird question (and probably answered elsewhere) but I just picked up Forza 5 and have had Horizon 2 since launch - is it possible to buy the Forza 5 VIP pack, then the Horizon 2 VIP pack (at 50% off) and then the Storm DLC for 50% off?
Everything I've read suggests that's the case so I'd be in for $40 for all three, but it doesn't state if the offers expire at any point. I don't even know if there's really a point, but with the discounts it makes the bonus cars for both games a little easier to swallow.

Storm Island was going great until I was forced into the Stadium Truck for a race and not allowed to tune it. What a sloppy mess.

Yeah, my first race in that stadium truck was a disaster. I barely finished. My biggest problem was I usually run with traction control off, and I can't handle that truck without it.

Yeah. I have to spend some more time with it, but I've only used it in that one Gauntlet race with the stock tune that Crude mentioned.
Same with me. Couldn't keep it in a straight line to save my life. If you upgrade it is the gearbox still 3 gears?

I didn't even think about the refund option if anything went awry, but I tried it and it totally worked. $20 for Forza 5 VIP, $10 for Horizon 2 VIP, and another ten for the DLC.
Can't wait to play it.

Nope! Put on the rally tranny and then lower the final gear ratio. Having wider gears helps a TON with controlling that beast.

Based on the current 3, there was only 1-2 cars that I really wanted. I was able to buy one separately, but the other I would have to buy the whole pack for.
