iirc benchmark ring and maybe sidewinder were only revealed the day the game launched.
Yeah, nothing huge, but who knows...

Speakng of which, we haven't seen pics of the benchmark ring.

To solve my race-rig XBL issue I've just snagged a new 250GB Slim (the just-out matt black version, £199 delivered from Play including Gears 3 and FIFA 12, if anyone's interested) but am obviously shitting spikey breeze blocks about losing my Level 50 995GS FM3 game save during the data transfer.

Any tips? I can get an official data transfer cable from a mate. Can I back anything up anywhere, eg onto USB stick for example? if it's done a certain way is it pretty much risk-free?

Or should I wait until FM4 is out and I receive my bonus bits before doing the transfer?

you can move the game save to an xbox formated usb drive, then move it back to the xbox i think

Just a note, the only way to get the gearbox to 'vibrate' and 'bounce' like the way it does in the video, in Forza, is to reverse the gearing. What I mean by that is, once you've upgraded to the racing transmission, slide the final drive right towards 'speed' and then adjust all gears towards 'acceleration'. This is the only way to hear those kind of effects which are usually associated with race clutches and gearboxes...

the sound is crazy distorted, you can get that sound on forza if you turn it up and make your speakers nearly explode lol

Since I just had my Forza 3 LV50 Save Loss Drama™ and still working hard to recuperate from the catastrophe, I have only one advice:

> do the transfer only and only with the official Microsoft Data Transfer Kit

There are literally numerous threads over the internet regarding this matter and everybody agrees how only licensed official Transfer Kit will allow for usable data transfer of encrypted (that is the main word here) Forza 3 save. Usage of X360 Memory Unit will not help purely because SlimBox doesn't have a MC input - which was my main reason to do USB transfer, resulted with the loss of the file.

Do your search of the net (search everything about "Forza 3 save file transfer", "FM3 save file loss", "FM3 save file migration", etc..) and then act accordingly.

Notice you will not solve anything by "waiting" for FM4 - because than you will have 2 files to transfer (both FM3 and FM4) to the new console and without knowledge of will such procedure destroy both files in the process.

Basically, I had new SlimBox with properly migrated DRM licenses, XboxLive Gold acc, etc. I formatted a brand-new USB drive to MS format, did a savefile "move" to USB and than successfully copied it to new SlimBox. But game didn't want to accept that file (I will learn later that night how Forza 3 savefiles are encrypted per-console basis) and I had to overwrite it and lose the original file. Notice you can't "copy" FM3 savefile (which leaves original on your FatBox), but only "move" it (which makes original being deleted from the original position). Also "moving" it from the USB to your SlimBox will also delete it from the USB.

It is not a bright future, I know - but I really hope Turn10 will allow people to move their savefiles between the consoles without losing them. Best luck!

about the exhaust sound thing,


Does the exhaust sound change when you install other exhausts? Will it be noticable?
I bought a stock Mitsubishi Evo X. With the stock parts it sounded like an Evo X. Next I installed a Race Exhaust. The sound changed significantly. It sounded a little more meatier with the grunt but the racing exhaust added such a loud metallic roar to the revs, more noticeable the higher up the revs you went.

The blowoff I get from the Evo X sound is different to the stock turbo blowoff by FAR. Also, its a noise I have never heard before in Forza games. Brand new.

I agree with Xanadu, the F40 is wrong and for such a prolific car, it shouldn't be.
Also the new escort cosworth front end is also wrong, I had one for 2 years and loved it before I realised having baby car seats in the back would be so wrong. Glad to have it in game though.
It's a shame they get these things wrong but who is to blame, the out-source companies they use or T10? When you are trying to set yourself up as the number 1 car game then you shouldn't be getting these small things wrong especially when the mistakes are made with each sequel.
Game looks gorgeous though. LE already pre-ordered.

i agree, the escort front does look kind of weird but its no where near as bad as some other models such as the NSX mk1 and mclaren f1 gt

its going to look weird having this inaccurate POS next to the perfectly modelled auto vista F1

I remember the Pagani Zonda in the earlier Forza's being seriously wrong in looks and performance. Hopefully that is put right.

The Top Gear location is excellent. Do you still need to upload to their website then download from there? What's the highest resolution you can get? I've spent entire days on GT5 taking pics. I can see myself doing the same here.

1280x720 for standard jpgs
3840x2160 or 8M pixel for uncompressed (that's what they said) "big shots"

And yes it is all done through the Forza web site.
