I know Dirt 3 is satiating my Group B addiction, but I still would love to see them in Forza 4. I know we have some, but I would love to see the road version of the Delta S4, 205 T16, etc. I don't even need dirt tracks really, they would be amazing to run around Kaido and the like.

I am starting to think I might have an addiction problem with Group B...
well group b is legendary for a reason!

i keep monitoring this thread for updates and/or media but reading the the majority of posts over the last week or so has become PAINFUL. guys, relax. take a deep breath - in with the good air, out with the bad.

Yeah... but... we're so damn indignant!

How dare Turn 10 keep things from us!

;)

Your advice is probably wise advice though. I've got a nasty feeling we're going to be teased to within an inch of our lives over the next few months...

[ QUOTE=saladine1]Remember how I said these modders were picking through the contents of the FM3 UC Database files?
Well, under the 'wheels' DB, they found these references on the disc from a while back:

I've never seen this before save for over at Jalopnik of course. The bolded cars are the ones confirmed recently...:0[/QUOTE]

This list is quite old (from around UC's launch so last year at least) and was posted in one of the FM4 thread here IIRC. Added some infos :
The cars in red were hinted/unofficially confirmed by BADNED. (I may forget some)
The cars in italic are from the TofuR leak.
The underlined cars are the final cars of the Forzalopnik pool but didn't make it in the CCCP.

Jalopnik's old articles are broken but I'm pretty sure that a lot of the other old cars from that list were in the 120 cars from the Forzalopnik pool.

Edit : Removed the quote to show the italic.

Dat bloom, seriously... :/
Still not convinced by this replay screen and still think the game looks better in motion. (which is odd for a racing game with photo mode)

Nitpicking time (beside the overdone bloom) : the seat look way too shiny (dat specular reflection) and the headlights still miss something which I can't put my finger on.

BTW, for reference, this is the ix20 :

Why are they doing this mega-motion-blurred screenshots again. They did the same with Forza 3 and I did not like it.

edit: The driver still looks off :/

And the photo has high compression, imagine if it didn't have that compression, look at the 4.

Scumbag Turn10. Posts Week in review, images that don't load.

I think they're fucking with us. If I was community manager, I'd be posting ASCII art to make up for it.

A custom livery Spirit-R unicorn as pre-order incentive... Dammit, now I have to get a twitter account.
Hopefully there's a Camaro unicorn incentive as well.

All this old-skool love makes me think that my very first car, the godawful MG Maestro, might make an appearance in FM4.

Maestro1%20(Small).jpg

That's a random web picture but mine was the same colour and model year (ie the original 1.6 model).

It leaked inside, the battery would flatten overnight, and new rust spots appeared on daily basis. But when you are 18 years old your first car is the coolest thing on the planet: especially one with a space-age digital speedo and talking computer a la KITT. The MG badging, alloy wheels and red seat belts were just the icing on the cake. I had a lot of fun in that car and it would be great to drive it again in FM4.

The Cossie shot is also available in high-res:
Thanks B.
You know people will always nitpick and that's fine, but as long as the lighting is better than FM3, then i'll be more than happy which obviously is the case..

The material shaders also look much, much better than F3, in F3 cockpit view everything was really flat.

So I haven't played a Forza since the original. I hear they're more beginner friendly now?
They have a load of helpful assists for the beginner. Steering assists, braking assists, racing line, traction control, rewind feature, 'one button driving'..etc, very user friendly.

Really glad to see the escort cosworth in now.
I owned one myself in mallard green with the lux pack.
Wonderful, wonderful car but you always felt paranoid when you parked it anywhere due to the looks it received.
It was a boys wet dream.
Was really sad to sell it but that's what a new-born baby does for you.
I hope they have nailed the handling but the photo does look a little off. Sorry But I can't put my finger on it although glad to see the whale tail spoiler and teardrop bonnet vents.

The seats are actually pretty shiny in the real car, at least in the Escort I have seen.

Things I want Forza to lift from Shift 2.

- cockpit view
- track variety
- track variety
- track variety

- Seriously how did Shift get the track stuff so right... and Forza has never come close to this.

- I actually like the career layout in Shift 2 quite well.
- The track mastering thing with the 100% line and corners, is fun to keep track of that.

Forza has cockpit view, it just doesn't have helmet view. And yes, I would like to see a lot more tracks. Shift definitely had way more tracks and that was very nice to have available.

What he means is that overdone/over the top cockpit view from the shift series I'm sure.

Which I do not like, I think the new FM4 one will be perfect (it'll have more movement than 3's)

Please tell us that's not the Photomode quality we can expect from Forza 4...
It probably will be....those compression artifacts! =( At least they're being somewhat upfront about it this time? By releasing photomode shots as is? Hahah

Otherwise, lighting looks great; I'd imagine it was taken in a harsh sunlight condition (Alps? Some other track?) The specular roll off on the seats could be reduced a bit...so it becomes a bigger brightness spot, with softer edges....like the material in that Escort photo

Slayer-33

They need to sort this out now.

What good is a good photomode with subpar compression?

The picture looks good despite that bad compression but imagine if it was much higher quality?

c'mon T10 please..

I think people would rather upload 4 super high quality pics at a time than 14 crappy compressed ones.

I think the Badned pic compression is due to the forzacentral.net site compression

http://www.forzacentral.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=21987&c=152

Also I think the logo will be different in the in-game photomode. The pics released so far has different logo positions, shadows, etc. Looks like they were manually edited.

I don't expect a better compression though... =p

OK, serious appeal: I really need an IBL 101.

Apart from the bloom on the wheels, can someone please explain to me how the lighting in the Cossie photo is apparently much improved from previous Forzas?

To my untrained eye that image could have come straight from FM3.

Yeah well I can understand Turn 10 wants everyone to upload their pics to FM.net, but surely they can give us the option to send our uncompressed pics to USB drive and upload them ourselves to wherever we see fit.

I think Microsoft doesn't allow exporting things via USB due to security concerns (USB exploit, jpg exploit etc).

I hope microsoft allow usb exporting this time around, but if they allow it for one they might have to allow it for others.

If microsoft are worried about bandwidth bills allow VIP users who are paying £60 beans for what is more or less 3 DLC packs on launch day to have a better quality upload, or have it so the online gallery is still compressed but a direct download via link is high quality.

Bad compression is like shitting over good work which deserves to be seen in it's full.

I'm already tempted to skip the LE this time around due to losing my FM3 save and the dlc packs not being worth the value, but if we find out image compression is shit again it's an easy 1 click cancel.

Same here, if the compression is there I will just buy regular edition.
That cossie shot looks straight out of F3 but then at this stage in the xbox 360's life I am sure all games are pushing the hardware to a point were sequels will look the same but will be stronger on features.
It seems F4 is F3 but with all of the cut features put back in.
