I don't not like it, but I can never tell the difference between a lot of the tanks from that era. Plus, my first car was a 1980 Celica so my heart belongs to the 1980s Japanese era... it's a given that I'd prefer the RX3, Starion and MR2 over any American car amongst them.

Mate, I'd kill for the RX3 to be in the game. The last time I remember a game featuring the iconic rotor was Sega GT 2002. It's about damn time someone was even comtemplating to inlcude it in a roster. I was actually surprised that GT didn't have any of the early classics,R100,RX2,RX3,RX4..

Haha! I sat back and thought the same thing. I will be ordering the CS pedals here in about 2 months. Just got the GT2 and Rennsport Wheel Stand Pro V2 and I'm thinking "holy shit, when all is said and done I just spent over $600 for $60" ...

I don't think Turn 10 have actually started work on FM4 yet, and that's why they won't show us screenshots of the recent Facebook cars. I reckon there will just be a mad panic in the studio the week before release.

(In order to subscibe to this theory you have to ignore everything that was shown at E3. And all the other stuff).

Thinking about it, trying to pass FM3 off as FM4 might be a little risky. Somebody is bound to notice.

Far better to try it with the original Forza Motorsport. They can then finally reveal that night racing is in and the fan-plasing 'return' of classic circuits.

If Shift 2: Unleashed can get away with a graphical downgrade from Shift then I'm sure Forza can pull it off.

Not sure if this has already been discussed on GAF, but why does the FM3 logo look more stylish and more modern (in short: better) than the FM4 one? At least that's my impression.

And what about that awkward vertical line that separates the '4'? The '4' resembles the 'FM' design and both elements should have been connected (-> FM4).

Agreed, the FM3 logo benefits greatly from its simpler, cleaner look. All that pseudo-3D chroming on the new logo just looks rubbish. And you are right, the '4' looks like a bolt-on from the parts bin.

Once I upgrade my monitor I do plan on doing this. I actually enjoy wheel racing 100x more than I thought I would. It's really opened up the floodgates for racing games for me now.

With the GT2 and the lighted buttons I might give some of the older games I didn't really give a chance to like NFS:HP because of all the buttons you had to remember and stuff.

I totally disagree with the earlier logo being better. I love the look and the | in the middle as it adds style.

I loaded up FM a little while ago and couldn’t find one single element of it that I considered even a close match to later versions. The massive downgrade in graphical and audio quality is the most obvious compromise, of course, along with overall presentation, UI, menus etc., but the driving and physics model (ie the core of the game) seemed almost agricultural by today’s standards. OK, FM had night driving and autocross, but a better overall racing game than FM2 or FM3? Really?

When people champion the original Forza Motorsport, are they contextualising its quality within the timeframe of its original release, or are they saying it still stands up today against the current crop?

Ask yourself this: if they were both released at the same time, would you reallly buy FM instead of FM2 or FM3?

ok obviously if they both came out today FM3 would be the better game but in terms of enjoyment for me anyway FM1 is well on top. the career was actually a joy to complete unlike 3s tedious one..and the music was far far better (junkie xl ftw). also i have great memories of playing online with people who didnt just crash into everyone on the first corner and leaving, i mean this did happen but it was a lot rarer. also of course it had night racing and the dockyard track was one of the best tracks in any racing game imo. i even think forza 2 was better than 3 too mostly due to 3s horrible online play. btw sorry for my english

I'm not usually the guy who talks about box art and logos but we have nothing else to discuss so I might as well. I actually like the FM4 logo. It pretty much reflects the actual 'look and feel' of the new game...IBL,smooth, flowing lines,bold..etc. It has a 'next gen' look to it.

There needs to be a penalty for contact to both drivers, that's how iRacing does it and driving like a dick just drops you right down in the rankings, so everyone is on their best behaviour.

Better than having company that did not put out any information at all and constantly moving release date. When the game came out we get racing game with screen tearing and jagged fest nothing like all the bullshot trailers.

yes i really wish to play iracing but its too expensive for me, but i feel my G25 isnt being used to its full capabilities. i have great fun on GTR2 though i love that game

Still, can't beat Forza for the production car experience. I hope one day we get either Forza or a game like that on PC, I've been waiting since Gran Turismo 1.

i totally agree, i think the last kind of gran turimo and forza type game was sega GT and that came out in like 2000. i always hoped forza motorsport would come to PC but i doubt it will happen

I know Dirt 3 is satiating my Group B addiction, but I still would love to see them in Forza 4. I know we have some, but I would love to see the road version of the Delta S4, 205 T16, etc. I don't even need dirt tracks really, they would be amazing to run around Kaido and the like.
