Fair enough. I think a GAF race with the bare bones crap class cars around the ring would be an epic blast.

The 30's and other early race cars really need some Paul Pietsch inspired drivers behind the wheel. Goggles, gloves and leather hats FTW!

Well, some great news today for me. Went to see a private specialist (rather than the free National health care service we have in the UK) and after some more X-rays, my tendon is not snapped and I don't need to have an operation to restructure my finger.

The really great news is that I'm in a much smaller cast now and so I'm about to have a go on Forza! :)

I was really happy to see the Ring announcement on Monday. The track looks amazing. So fun to drive in this game.

It's great that they're giving these tracks away for free. The game certainly felt light on tracks at launch, but now it definitely feels bigger with the new tracks. Would be great if they added one more before Horizon 2 arrives in September.

Irks me to no end there isn't a damage playlist. The no collisions mode is crap and doesn't feel like racing and the other modes are just cesspits.

I'm on on this action as well! I've been running around too much this week and haven't had a chance to check in. Sadly going to miss the first date though, I won't be in town.

The ring is such a joy to race. So glad it's in Forza 5 now. It's a great note to end the track DLC on. I've got to agree with the folks that are saying it's way more tight now. Great fun to race on. I noticed a roller coaster track, I think, on the left side of the F1 track. That wasn't in previous versions of the track right? And so much trees. Love it.

I was pleased to see they added an achievement for doing the ring in under 10 minutes with the Ford sport van. Loved that episode on Top Gear.

My friend's having a lot of issues with the game since the 'Ring patch. Content has gone missing that was otherwise there beforehand and initially he couldn't get on the Ring.

He's done a full re-install and now he can get on the Ring but other content is missing (such as Indy, cars he's been using since Christmas and so on).

Any ideas?

I thought the leaderboard was all stock vans. This would explain why I was having such a hard time keeping up with your ghost. Well I got a stock van around the ring in 9:59, so I'm quite happy about that.

You've done what Sabine Schmitz couldn't.

I always get the most satisfaction from setting my times in a stock vehicle. I'm still trying to get the P1 around the Nordschleife in under 7 minutes, and I've got to find over 10 seconds and have yet to run a clean lap.

With all the surface chatter, crests, brutal curbs and compressions, and the general claustrophobia of the circuit, FM5's version of the 'Ring is a never-ending, sphincter-clenching rollercoaster of pure terror. After so many years of crude approximations, I still can't believe we finally have a version that does this place justice.

Are you still planning on a follow-up to your 50 Days of Green Hell, Shortt? This new rendition of the track would make for quite the sequel.

I have given a lot of thought. With the new streaming ability I could even do commentary during the lap. I really want to do it again, I just gotta see if my capture setup will work with the XB1.

Sure, there is room, welcome.

I haven't decided if we'll be running stock or tuned yet, but probably stock because it evens the field for those who can't put hours into practice and also the FF's are more fun when they're squirmy!

Assuming my ISP issues are resolved I should be game.

Haven't been connected for 2 weeks! Switching providers today so hopefully I can drive this damn track.

the ring is fantastic. really well done. i never realized quite how bad they had it before, in some sections it feels entirely different. its gorgeous too. it seems each dlc track gets better looking then the last and all best the offerings on disc. probably due to knowing the engine better and not being rushed for launch.

50 days back? cool

I meant to post this here...and accidentally posted it in the comparison thread. Usually multiple tabs don't screw me up. Love the ring...boy you can get going fast in some tight spaces on it.

It actually feels like a fast and scary track now. So much tighter.
