And of course I can't have too much luck.

Lost 50/50 to fuckin' useless Vepley of all characters in Girls Frontline 2, didn't get 416 a second time. Fuckin' sucks. RNG gods only know if I'll have enough to pull her in just ~20 days, but I don't think that I will.

Dropping this 2h video essay in case anyone wants something to watch or listen to while grinding dailies or doing other stuff. :messenger_grinning_sweat:

Short version - Boobs + Butts + what sells well = Anime. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Good video, everyone who is interested in history knows that China had a huge influence on Japanese culture. (Even when creating weapons, the father of the Кatana - Tachi Sword was inspired by Chinese swords).
But overall, it seems to me that the market played a greater role here, they make what sells well and is in demand. If some cardinal shifts occur in the market, they will restructure. But this will definitely not happen in the coming years, the Anime industry is currently on the rise.

Rewinding Cadence - New Gacha from CN. Looks like yuri WuWa-like with JoJo stand battle mechanics and a story focus on time travel. 1/3 of the way through for gameplay. The last 3rd of the video takes a noticeable nosedive in quality. I'm assuming this mainly a trailer to gather interest from investors/developers.

Day goddamn one! Very impressive! Love the dialogue choices with the D&D dice and the combat looks far better than in WuWa, not to mention explorations of the open world with various things you can use to travel faster on the ground. Don't tell me that we're going to be waiting 3-4 years for this one? It looks pretty far along in terms of development based on this video.

The combat looks cool, but I feel like this is a lot of showing off for the promo. In the end, I'm sure it'll be another RNG gear grindfest like every other character action gacha. It'd be nice if we got one that favored player skill and mastery of mechanics over DPS spreadsheet numbers, but that doesn't make for a profitable gacha. Even WuWa, which I consider to have a high skill ceiling, still ultimately depends on timers and dps checks for the endgame, so I expect no different from this game.

That said, it is stylish, and yea, the D&D story stuff seems like it could be interesting. I have a feeling this is a long way off from release though, this was the initial announcement trailer. At least with CN gachas, you can always be reasonably sure when something is going to release, because the devs have to register it with the government the year they plan to release.

Oh I'm not expecting it to be different when it comes to gacha tropes and shit, that's a given and there's nothing we can do about that.

I expect 3 years of dev time at least before release, but in 3 years a lot can happen in the gacha space.

Mayar Mayar is this why you play the game?

This is one of the few games that my wife and I can play together (they added co-op) without thinking about any meta, tier lists, etc., just relax. Visually, the game looks just great (there are questions about the technical aspects, of course). It's just a very good family game when you just want to relax and throw all unnecessary thoughts out of your head.

Well, also, the level of detail in the clothes in this game is just insane...
In this case, it's just doubly impressive, because since this game is about clothes and you can combine any clothing elements with each other, they can't just take and make, solid сostume for a character, as is usually done in Gacha games (Draw a costume over the character's body, adding 3D elements for volume). No, they have to make each outfit separately, all the elements of clothing - earrings, dresses, gloves, etc. even socks.
A small selection of my screenshots:

Looks like they're going for the yuri bait. Good luck with that, lol.

Edit: That DnD system seems cool though.

Has anyone played Reverse 1999? I got curious since it's one of the titles in the poll, and I've seen a couple of their PVs, and they seem really well done. The art style and character designs are pretty unique in the gacha space too.

Guess who played in 2 tries... :messenger_tears_of_joy:
Wait, I haven't looked into it much, but I know it's very story focused. So, you played through all the available story when you tried it and then ditched it? I know the gameplay is pretty basic SRPG, but is the story any good?

Yes, the game is quite focused on the story. I started playing right from the release and left after the released - 37 (Character name), I may be wrong but I think it was February of last year.
What I've been through, the story is well written. But I think for these Gacha games focused on history, Limbus Company is probably the best (But this is purely my opinion). And both games are naturally not without problems.

Excellent game. The VA is incredible, probably the best in the gacha scene. I dropped it because the small font was hurting my eyes, but I wish this was on console.

Lately I have got lucky pulls.

Nikke -EVE at the FIRST single pull

ZZZ - beat 50/50 on the two banners as F2P.

As for Infinity Nikki - 360 hours already. The visuals and music are just too good to ignore. Plus, I love clothes customization in every game that has that option. I'm cosplaying big time in this one.

I finally rolled on Cipher's banner in HSR, and it went relatively okay... I lost the 50/50 quickly on the first 10x pull and then had to hit soft pity to get her. So, it took somewhere around 80 pulls in total for the cat girl thief.

I have some leftover pulls, so I'll try to grab her LC before the banner ends, or at least to attempt the 75/25. 🤞

I actually booted up star rail for the first time in months and got Cipher, not sure if I'll keep playing or not, but it's just been sitting installed on my console this whole time, the welcome back stuff is nice.

Actually I was surprised for not playing for so long, like 5 months, my teams and stuff are surprisingly still relevant. Granted my Acheron and Fexio were straight busted and have their sig cones, but ya, pleasantly surprised that my account isn't worthless after so long.

Nikke - Had 105 f2p tickets, only got one copy of Eve after dropping 100 of them.
Don't worry, she's pretty bad and mediocre as a character, so you haven't lost anything here. :messenger_grinning: (They have an eternal problem with characters, they release a lot of them - but very few good ones)

Skip button finally coming in HSR version 3.4.

Well, they should have added it somewhere around the time of 1.5. I would have probably stayed in the game longer, but it's too late now. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Where's my 100 foot big tiddy anime girl ad outside of my apartment window?

Good lord, I can't help but to imagine seeing something like this in current Russia with its insane religious fanatics and thieves from the "orthodox church", they would've been furiours and probably preached all day about how immoral and bad it looks, that kids and teens should stay away, that cell phones are satan's evil shit and it all should be banned, blocked and shit, ahahhah, fuckin' ancient clowns:messenger_tears_of_joy:

Ahem, anyway, looks great(y):messenger_tears_of_joy:

In Spain it would be pretty much the same with the fucking feminists, more annoying than any religious cult.

Based devs. They are a tough competition to Shift Up in terms of cheeky lewdness.

Oh man, I'm so weak for the epic boss battle + banger song + amazing cinematic combo. 😩

I blame Doom85 Doom85 for yapping every chance he gets about how good HSR is, which convinced me to give this game a fair shot.

Here's Duet Night Abyss's character movesets and ultimates showcase.

Lots of IP theft inspiration on display here from designs, animations, etc from HoYo games, WuWa, and others.

I feel like there's way too many SFX on the screen at any given time, it's tough to tell what the hell is going on. Also, seems to be more of a musou where you just fight endless waves of braidead dummies outside of boss encounters, but maybe the guy making this video just did that to show off the movesets better.

My personal favorite from the video was the gun maid.

Man those games are starting to blend together lmao. That is literally mount firmament lol.

You gotta start doing something else, like that victorian setting, or Gacha Theft Auto - anything other than what's already here, deeply rooted into many gacha fiends. It's gonna be hard to find success when if a potential fiend looks at your game and thinks "well I'm already playing 2 of those", and with games like Ananta etc. on the horizon, I'd be much more likely to give a shot to something that stands out a bit.

Watched the first hour of Duet Night Abyss gameplay yesterday and... it actually looks fun? I'll probably give it a shot once it drops on PC or PS5 (I quite enjoy that musou/warframe style combat loop).

Seems polished and nice - but it's gonna be a pass from me. I think I can squeeze in at most one more gacha, so I'm gonna be mighty picky about it. :D

Yeah, no thanks. It's really hard for these game to stand out and be unique for you to want to play them. This one looks way too generic and completely lacks originality or some unique ideas to stand out from the crowd.

I guess I better start grinding every last bit of jade for the new Furina lookalike they've just announced in HSR for version 3.5. Plus, she's a Harmony character, so I'm hoping she'll be a great buffer since I really need one for my current teams (I've Ruan Mei, but I need another one on a similar level to Sunday or Robin).

It annoys me that they're doing the "Luofu dress" designs for both Hsyleins and Cerydra. It's already one of the most overused aesthetics, and now we're getting more of it in Amphorious, which is supposed to be Greek.
