nah, he has to die if only to prevent Arya and the hound from getting their revenge.Knowing this show The Mountain is gonna end up living. He'll get gold, lots of women to screw/torment, and a huge profitable chunk of land for being the best murdering rapist douche he could be. He'll live happily after while the white walkers kill everybody.

I know you mean nothing by this, but these types of comments are not really supposed to be in this topic.I'm not a huge fan of Daenerys, but she is a lot better character in the books. She has all the qualities to be a good queen and she is a very nice person in the written fiction. In the series she is acting a lot cocky lately.
This is the day King Juan Carlos of Spain, House of M, choose to abdicate.....coincidence? I think not.
7 episodes of build-up for nothing...
Yeah he technically gets his confession and that could lead to more boring politics, but fuck me why is it always the most interesting characters that end up dying in the middle of their fucking story arc?
I get that not everything gets resolved the way we want in real life, but nothing ever gets resolved in this show.
I still like it a lot, in fact this episode was brilliant from begenning to end, and I vastly prefer a show that plays with my emotions to a boring one where nothing happens, but I just want to see one good thing happen, man. Just once.

They prefer that no comparisons be made. No mentions of the books at all really. There is a separate topic for people that have read the books, and want to compare the two.
You might want to read the rules in the OP.Understood. I thought only spoilers were forbidden.

So...I don't really watch Game of Thrones but a friend insisted I come over to watch the episode because Oberyn is a female friend's favorite character. She recently got a kitten and even named it after him. It sounds sick but I took so much delight in the explosion and her crying/screaming afterwards.
10/10, would watch someone's night get ruined again.
Well...I guess on the bright sideit looks like Jon Snow will finally do something next week.
nah, he has to die if only to prevent Arya and the hound from getting their revenge.
That's cool. Will make it all the sweeter when Hound kills him
The fact that Arya mentioned it again in this episode is not a good sign.also this
Its a brilliant way to potentially introduce the last important house in Westoros next season. *shrugs*

Wow, wtf, I can't believe it.
Why didn't he just kill him? And that ending was brutal. Poor Oberyn, just when I was beginning to like you
Lol
She would've killed The Mountain in no time.
GRRM'dI hope it's just a lead-up to him overcoming his fear of fire and letting her burn it. I don't want to see a badass like him die a shit death. There are too many of those in the show.
He was trying to get his confession of murdering his sister and her children.
GRRM'd
GRRM'd
Proper GRRM'ing would be having his wound burned to help heal it but then having him light on fire as a result.
Haha yeah. It took four seasons, but I finally got to that point. I didn't really care that Ned got killed or that the red wedding happened... But this episode man... What the fuck. I just hope my other favourite characters are not next on GRR's shit list.
Nah we'd need someone else to insult him/rob him of his dignity in his dying moments
Dorne remembers.

I don't even care if characters I like die any more. I just hope they don't die the way Oberyn did. :|
Ugh..
He could have done so without standing right next to him with his guard down. :/
It's been.... an hour since I finished watching that episode and his scream and face and that gore that exploded out of his head at the end is still swimming in my head ;__;
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
The actor playing Oberyn was so good that I wouldn't mind if the directors had decided to let the character alive.
Yes, would totally watch an Oberyn spinoff series.

The guy that Ramsey killed, the one with the skin peeled off. Is that what filleting is?
Fucking brutal.
Flaying, actually. The guy that Ramsey killed, the one with the skin peeled off. Is that what filleting is?
