I got the Newest Game Informer in today and on the front cover it features none other than the, "Dog Father". Apperantly John Singleton has a game coming out featuring Snoop Dog. The newest issue goes indepth into the "gangsta", "ghetto" game, depicting all sorts of ill sh!t and violence. Fo shizzle my nizzle???

The game will be out on both Xbox and PS2, the screens looked like they were from the Xbox game, very nice graphics, ultra detailed, and a good looking lighting engine. The game is being made by Midway (Edge of Reality)so who knows what it will be like from a gameplay perspective. Look for this game to sell pretty well, Snoop wants people to live the life on the street, and see the descisions one has to make concerning life and death in da hood.

IMHO, it looks pretty crazy. I think it sucks that games have to have this kind of stuff in them, but it sells and the game looks like it is halfway decently made. Your friendly neighborhood congressman will have a field day with this title, and I'm sure we will get some sort of warning label beyond what is currently out already.

If scans are alright I'll scan and post them.

Why does every rapper think they know all about "tha life on da streetz?" Just because you grew up in a low income family does not mean you're the authority on the ghetto. Especially Snoop.

Wasn't Snoop an ex-crip or blood?

Wikipedia to the rescue...man's killed someone, been almost killed himself, and has a connection to the crips (I think.) He's more "real" than most rappers, apparently

Enjoy Snoop's trip to the realm of videogames.
Guess this is the 4th realm of media he has pollutled with his 'talent'*.

*Even Doggystlye can not make up for the stupidity and ignorance he has made and been in.

Snoop Dog makes anything better than it would be without him. I mean, imagine how awesome this game would be if it had Snoop in it:

Snoop is all over the place these days. I turn on the TV and he's in the T-Mobile Sidekick commercials, performing at Comedy Central's Last Laugh 2004, and is all over Spike TV since he's hosting that stupid gaming awards show.

Now he's going to be in his THIRD video game? Damn. :)

So GMR dies just as it was giving an exclusive review for RE4 and GI lives on to give an exclusive look at a new Snoop Dog game.

There is no God.

The dude is still cript and he still fucking pimps hos for money. 0 respect.

I know that article couldn't have been very fun for the GI writer to write, considering they're mostly Anglo-Minnesotans.

That lame notion of "OMG GAMING IS MAINSTREAM" has to be stopped. Things are exactly the same now than they were back in the '90 and '80. Heck I remember reading a old reader's digest from the '70 talking about how videogames were popular and how every kid wanted one for xmas.

Yup, there really isn't. GI is slipping in the quality and exclusive departments, and yet GMR, a gaming magazine that I found quite enjoyable is canned while GI thrives like a leech. Who do I complain too?

Yes, they are. I have it on good authority that they also drink lingonberry juice at the breakfast table.

(I do speak from personal experience when I say that the two topics I have the most difficulty writing about are wrestling games and hip-hop games.)

First Spike TV Awards, now another video game cameo. He's everywhere. >_<

Jesus christ, you fucks can be condescending. What's so terrible about this?

Pretty much, GTA:SA is great, but a game that is having input from someone who knows what 'gangsta' life is all about is terrible. John Singleton is an avid gamer and his greatest sucess has been with 'hood' movies, so it is a natural progression.

AbeFroman: Lutfisk. One would think that the Swedish people who moved to America (Minnesota) would try and forget some of the most horrid Swedish traditions. I now see that is not the case.

How much of this "He used to be in tha hood! He used to deal drugs, shoot suckaz, in a gang, etc." do you guys think is actually real? I always just assumed it was mostly a bunch of bullshit dreamed up by the PR guy at the record label. You know, like 50 Cent getting shot in the face 8 times and surviving? Tell me that isn't record label bullshit hashed up to sell records. What'd he get shot with? A fucking paintball gun?

Lye-soaked, translucent cod and gangsta rap...can't get enough of it.

I'm not an expert, but they usually say that out of all the famous self-proclaimed "gangstas", Snoop is the only one with proof. Like Belgurdo said up there, he's been on trial for killing a man, which is kind of hard to make up for PR.

No, fill me in.
Long story short: Back in the later days of the 32-bit era, Eminem signed a deal with Take2 (I think that was the publisher) to star in his own game. Things got ugly and Eminem flaked out on Take2 which resulted in lawsuit threats. Not sure what came of it but I think that's what happened in a nutshell.
