Thoughts on Xiao, from those who pulled him?
I'm trying to decide if I should continue trying to pull him or wait on Keqing. My current electro is Fischil and I'd very likely only run Xiao in a support role since I've been using Diluc as main DPS

Xiao is not a support. He needs to be on the field to reach his potential. You might want to wait and see what suport Hu Tou is like. She's also Pyro, so she could work well with your Diluc.

Like Legend said, he is not a support. You don't even need to play with him to know that, his abilities are dps oriented(look at his burst).

At this point, I'll be saving my primos for a while. I like all the characters on the Keqing banner, but I already have Bennett and Barb at multiple constellations and I'm pretty far from a pity to potentially get a C1 for Keqing. I haven't used Ningguang much yet, but if I want her C1, I can just wait for the free Liyue character event. Pretty sure I'm not too far from another pity (should would be nice to have a my wish history available, thanks Mihoyo /s) on the permanent banner or I could just wait for Rosaria, assuming she stays a 4 star.

I agree with this. I tried his trial stage a handful of times and it was very quickly apparent that the best way to play him is just to use his ultimate and jump slam over and over for the entire duration. It's probably the easiest and most effective long term AoE in the game currently, but it's pretty boring to play. I was shocked that his elemental skill is literally just a charge move with an element. You can tell that his character was designed a long time ago and just not released. Any of you guys find where you pick up the "Picture Perfect" quest in Liyue? I saw that it was available in the quest log from the reputation NPC, but I couldn't find the quest starter anywhere last night. Is it related to that kamera event that didn't start until today?

I run Diana over Ganyu when I need extra healing over what Bennett can provide.
I'm fairly new to the game (1 month) so I'm really not sure what the best team would be for me, sticking with Diluc as my main DPS.

Diluc/Waterboi/Bennett/Ganyu is a pretty good team. Atk bonus resonance, plenty of healing and buffs (both Xingqiu and Bennett have heals), can proc both melt and vaporize for the advantageous elements. I would play around with that team myself but I don't like the girly boy characters like Benny/Xingqiu/Chongyun. You have claymore for geo shields, you have a bow for archers and stuff you can't hit from the ground. Pretty balanced.

It's a head scratcher - I mean they have a "pulls till pity" counter in Honkai.i mean they could add a pity counter like any decent gacha game, it's very simple to develop but well in this way it's easier to make the people pull with x10 instead x1
Just wondering how/who you use Xinqui's ultimate with .. ( in case you didn't already try - use it then switch to a mage character like Lisa or Sucrose, then spam their light attack .. basically double damage or greater . Elemental mastery helps with this too)

- wtf they changed barbara voice why
- crystalflies seem to have got a nerf (somepeople couldn't catch them) -look different too
- Sounds seems messed up or broken on PS4 at least - stuff is nearly half as loud, I can barely hear battle sfx, cooking sounds etc completely gone or missing half the time.

Yeah, the test run was kind of disappointing. He's really cool - in a cast of mostly trash - but not too fun to play. Also, nice cheating with his gear to make us perceive more damage, mihoyo.Xiao is boring. Fight me. He's literally a green plunger for your toilet.

Man it cannot be understated just how bad electro is against pyro. The Overload damage is strictly a pyro type damage, so it does exactly 0 damage to pyro immune enemies but still sends them flying all over hell.
I've been using Keqing a bit as I'm building her up, and there's just so many downsides with her. Her attack combo sucks, it sends things flying unless you stop after a few hits and dodge. Her skill has a nice cooldown but it also runs out about 2/3 of the way, which sucks if you are building her for electro damage like you should. Her burst recharges fast and is spammable, but it feels really low damage. I feel like people that "main" Keqing are really putting themselves through some unnecessary paces. Razor is just a straight upgrade to just about anything she can do and has the strength of most of his damage being physical instead of shit Electro. I also see why physical build Keqing is a thing, but that would seem to be even more boring because you only use your skill to apply superconduct.

Word. Beidou is amazing. Xiao is a classic example of style over practicality. I'm glad that test run is a thing. Can't imagine myself enjoying playing as him. Cool character though, I hope we will see more of his story. Same thing with a vampire nun. Nice tits, but not a character I can afford spending my rolls for.

Considering they were literally in the character trailer, I have no idea why it took Mihoyo an extra patch to actually implement it on the public release build. Chinese game development at work I guess.

Unfortunately we seem to lacking in men (and women) of culture here. Imagine using the EN VA instead of JP or CN. Barbara's voice didn't change in the other languages. Checkmate, English dub tertiaries!

I like the JP dub, but I actually am fond of quite a few of the EN dub voices too. I really like Paimon and Zhongli in EN for instance. Lisa and most of the women are better in JP though. CN is a tough sell for me, too many 'sh' and 'ka' sounds for me to be able to process the emotion that the VAs are putting into the lines. Overall, I like the fact that I can just understand what the characters are saying and watch the scenes instead of peeking down at the subtitles the whole time, so I generally keep the dub in EN. Only time I always switch is when I'm planning on using Xinyan because her EN voice is SHIT.

I'm a weak idiot and I simped. Got Xiao in 5 multipulls (had 25 pulls already on those banners), 3 Beidou, 2 useless weapons and 2 pieces of trash.
And now I'm not sure I even want to level him up and craft a weapon for him.
Ended up with 7265 primo remaining. If next banner is Diluc I'm gonna hang myself.

You have some awesome characters only being 1 month in. Diluc is S tier. Mona is S Tier. Ganyu is SS tier.
Diluc/Ganyu will be your main dps prob for a very very long time. I really really don't recommend them on the same team.
Note* a lot of these suggestions/teamcomps will be abyss based. For overworld just have fun with it and play what you like.
Teams:
Diluc, Xinqiu, Bennett,
- I'd recommend focusing on Sucrose and Mona. Sucrose eventually for abyss (aoe vaccum) unless you get Venti. Mona for burst
Ganyu, Diona, Fischl,
-Ganyu Diona will give your Ganyu tons of crit due to ice elemental resonance (15% more crit).
-Fischl is just a great support to have. Oz is really strong.
-Since Ganyu is SS tier you don't necessarily need a 4th. I'd slot maybe xiangling.

Me, I picked Keqing long ago out of luck, wasn't expect the luck to be with me.
Yesterday I tried the weapon bannerto get the sacrificial claymore, but the banner gave me Xinqiu.
Tried today in the common banner and the game gave me sacrificial on my first try.
Like I said...pure luck. My brother tried to pick Childe, Klee and Zonghli in their exclusive banners and failed in all of them.

Fast? It's not fast at all. You're either extremely lucky or you are saving up and not pulling for months. I would recommend you to read about future characters and decide which ones you like and wait for their release. Don't waste wishes on characters you're not interested in. Even 1 or 2 x10 pulls on random banners can cripple your chances to get future character.
