what is the point of great quest design,side activities, small details and depth if the combat makes me not want to experience this game AT ALL?

I rather take the game that doesnt make me questiom my sanity every time im in combat.

Following a fox is much more fun than having to spend hours in a shed crushing herbs. Trust me, I've done both.

Ok, after watching the disability review, it's a big NO for me.
Sony decided to say a warm FUCK YOU to disabled gamers by making the game unplayable with just the Playstation Acess Controllers since TouchPad motions are mandatory for writing names and playing music mini game.
Also using L3/R3 for the bamboo cutting (and other things) and L3+R3 for a skill it's just stupid.

Unless future patches fix this, it's unplayable for me (I'll only buy it in 6 months - 1 year).

Yes, I fucked up my right arm on purpose, bought 2 Playstation Access Controllers and the Logitech buttons kit JUST so I could bitch about Yotei.

An asset flip is an asset flip, doesn't mean it's bad because of that, like Nightreign proves it.
Yotei is a rehash of Tsushima assets and animations, with sometimes weird lighting issues and sometimes ps2 level of textures on rocks, walls and ground, but that does not mean it isn't fun to play. I actually liked and got plat for Tsushima.
The female MC is Meh and the story is inspired , but that isn't such a big deal for me.
I'll probably buy it next year or the year after, depending on sales.

I focus the negative aspects because there is little use in pointing out the positives, since those are usually subjective.

And i'm hardly a fan of tsushima combat.

What makes it unfun and dogshit? Do you know there is a stat system where things get better over time. You are supposed to suck at fighting at the start and you should feel it. Its immersive.

That's literally the case for every game. Reminding everyone of the SM2 meta, knowing how half the people feel about it on this site, only serves to downplay the review score. I think you know that.

Never spoke about challenge, i literally made a long post in the OT on how to survive from the first hours and what to do in general because people were having problems.

Game if anything was quite easy when you understand how the system works and to not be aggressive until you get some moves like the counter.

There are so many great things about kcd, but the combat is clunky and tedious as fuck, especially in groups. It's terrible and frustrating. Hell, the minute to minute to gameplay is just irritating actually. The game seemed to stop me at every turn from having fun.

And I actually like the game. The story, character development, open world design and options made it juuuuust worth it enough to put up with its combat.

Just for clarification I think the DF Review shows promise, the reviews means it a competent game you would expect from Sony's PS Studios but this day age you have to treat them like you would a your dog that is sitting there all innocent when come home, you have to ask, "where's the poop"

KCD 2 combat is actually very polished for what they're trying to achieve. Realistic swords fight is not easy to animate. They did a great job despite not having a triple A budget. Mindlessly button mashing gets tiring after a while on top of having shallow quest system, ubisoft slop open world gameplay loop, and generic NPCs with zero personality.

Ghost of Tsushima was one of the most forgettable games I ever played, right behind Outer Worlds. I'm not sure I really played Outer Worlds, might have to check trophies.

but the thing is, I devoured GoT. I was addicted to it. That's just the type of experience it was - digestible yet forgettable. I'm not excited for another.

Yup. The duels were fun, but the groups (which often came at big points in the story) were miserable. Failed often.

Then mix in some bad stealth gameplay. Just. Yuck.

That's the case for every game. Even Sekiro is easy when you understand the combat patterns.
Also, your evaluation is usually skewed due to the fact that you have a lot of gaming knowledge and have an easy understanding of mechanics and positioning.
For you and any other player with deep gaming experience and expertise, every game will be easy, but for general population could be fucking hard.

Developers will never balance the games around people with your skill.

I'm glad you look forward to the game, but I'm still not paying for it. There are very few games that are worth the increased price.

I understand your sentiment. It sucks when most of the discourse today is around controversies. But that is only true for games that has it. This game has a vocal, self-proclaimed member of antifa voicing the main character. It's fair to discuss and criticies the game for that. I'm honestly tiered of the overly inclusive and boring interactions of Sony's recent output. But this game in particular is something I'm skipping because I'd rather have played as a male protagnoist. The fantasy of playing as a female ronin in a historical setting is not making my wallet itch, especially not after Spider-Man 2 (a Sony game I was really looking forward to).

If you're only seeing negativity here it's probably based on your game preferences. I've yet to see people dogpile Ninja Gaiden 4 or Crimson Desert.
