Gintama° Series 3 |OT| It's Not Digimon Tri, But It'll Have To Do!

The first movie is a remake of the Benizakura arc, and really could be watched instead of the episodes (which are 58-61) as it's pretty much the same with better animation, though some bits were removed and they added some teases for another arc. The second movie is an original story that's supposed to work as an ending to the anime up to that point, and should be watched after episode 265.

And yeah, skip the first two episodes.

Thanks guys:D wauw. It's terrible when a show has bad first episodes.

I almost gave up on Rick and Morty based on the first episode. There was just no way.

I mean, even something like Cowboy Bebop is really slow in the beginning. I know some people who violently hate the show and won't stop talking about how overrated and boring it is. But they usually gave up within the first 5 episodes.

Oh no, i think the first episodes are still very good and funny, it's just that after those it gets so much better.

I don't know how many weeks or even months it took me to get past the first ~20 episodes, but once I hit the Hot Pot episode, I knew this show will be off to do great things. And since then, it delivered most of the time and it only improves the longer it goes on.

If you ever feel like its dragging, you can always skip straight to the second series of the Show (You will find it as chapter 202, or chapter 1 of Gintama', with that thingy at the end). The show has a continuity but its not vital for the comedy episodes, that really hits it off later on and the second series does a well enough job to introduce the characters as to not feel lost.

Yo, why the hell is it so hard to find a version of the movie "Be Forever Odd Jobs" with English subtitles to watch? From what I could find, there aren't any official subs anywhere, which is an incredible shame because this movie is amazing.

Legally? I guess, but other than that it's everywhere

Just saw the preview for the Shogun Assassination arc at the end of episode 297, and that was some of the hypest stuff I've seen thus far. Kinda don't feel like watching the show as much as I have been because I feel like I'm approaching endgame business, starting with episode 290.

Gotta savour this before it ends.

It was sad the second movie did not make it to the west. I imported it and used some subs that were available online. It was a little out of sync but got the job done. Would double dip in a heartbeat.

Heven't seen the first, but the second film was amazing so this could be as well, if it is indeed a new movie.

Also, I finished watching the series 1-2 weeks ago. It's a moment I wasn't looking forward to; it sucks not having new episodes to look forward to. That very last shot was hype, though, and I look forward to its eventual return.

Fortunately, this is a series where one can easily revisit previous episodes.

The Love Potion Arc OVA is out, you can check the fansubs by searching google for them x).

Its even funnier animated, Shy Tsukuyo is the best.

More Gintama is like a gift from the heavens. That Part 1 was pretty good, and I liked the reveal of the mastermind. There was something real uncomfortable about seeing Kagura, in particular, like how she was.

This is hilarious, Gintoki sleeping with an old lady had me legit lol

Also, this is the closest we've ever been to a canon shipping for Gin
if you don't count Hasegawa that's it

Awesome to hear. Anyone follow the manga? Not asking for spoilers, but is it close to ending, like maybe before the year ends?

This upcoming season will probably finish it all then.

Bruhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I didn't expect it so soon. Someone should make a new thread.

If you thought Shogun Assassination and Farewell Shinsengumi arcs were hype, get ready for full Gintama epic-ness overdrive in the next arc.

You can't predict with Sorachi. I give it maybe 6 - 8 months for the manga to end.

Breh don't hype me like that. It's not good for my heart.

And yeah 6-8 months doesn't sound bad. His upcoming season should end it.

Eeeeehh i didn't really liked the last arc in the manga, it was basically
a bunch of fights, and kamui vs everyone
.

Still, it's worthy even only for the
Umibozu flashbacks
alone.

The next stories in the manga focus on fan beloved characters. That plus much wanted story exposition and just unbelievable fights, I can't see why people shouldn't be hyped.

Sounds awesome to me, especially since Gintama fights are slick.

Btw when can we expect the season to air?

I'm only on episode 252 but so far my favorite fight is still Gintoki vs. the King of the Night. I was so sure there was no way in hell he would win. I was positive that Kamui was gonna interfere and get the kill but he actually fucking wins and it was fucking awesome. Such a great underdog fight.

Im with you i like Gintama best when it moves from action to humour at a reasonable speed. The last arc was too heavily focussed on
the fights, i mean where is my Hazagawa

Kagura vs Abuto
Gintoki vs Housen
Gintoki vs Jiraia
Gintoki vs Oboro

All the Yoshiwara arcs have some of the best fights in the series. And because these arcs always feature her, It's no wonder Tsukuyo is the most popular female character in the series after Kagura.

Edit: Also, I am not sure if it has been posted here, but we have a new popularity poll ranking. No spoilers of new characters. No surprise Toshi surpassed Sougo.
