Also really good film. The High Evolutionary was straight up a better villain than Kang. I teared up many times. Legit. Adam Warlock was a bit disappointing but I expect him to be way cooler and less of a dummy in the future. What a beautiful ending to the trilogy and in my opinion, the best of all the Guardians films. Can't wait to see the new team in action with their new leader (who I actually thought would die lol).

Im a bit biased obviously. But this might be top 3 of the entire mcu for me. Need to go back for a different viewing.

And yea where def in a critics lashing out against mcu era. If this came out in 2019 it'd have 98% or something lol

Nebula is going through her tom boy phase.

She's always been one persona wise. Theyve done great work with her. Her being close to rocket in particular is great build up from them being the only two alive after the snap for five years. They probably had a lot of time to talk and bond.

Saw it last night, I loved it. Definitely one of the darker Marvel movies though simply by the visuals shown throughout it. Loved how low-stakes the first (I think) MCU F-bomb was too.

Is it still gonna be called X-Men tho?

Dr Strange 2 was awful, I have no idea how it has a 74 RT. It's really really bad. So doesn't give me much confidence for this, but I am going to watch it.
If Disney/Marvel screws up the tile(s) for X-Men by changing the name to some stupid gender norming name. Then they deserve the failure that will follow.... What are they gonna say "We are so and so formerly known as X-men". Yep, that would finish X-men before it got started.

They just fired the person who didn’t want to use the X-Men name.

They've already name dropped the X men in an MCU production. She hulk to be exact. And they were called the X men. There was never any actual plan to change the team name lol

That was pretty damn great. Probably the first marvel movie to actually have emotion...

What on earth were reviewers on about 🤣 the movie is pretty straightforward yet they were all crying it's too messy and complex.

Reviewers really are a bunch of numpties

I have just seen GotG 3. Marvel made a serious error in letting James Gunn switch to DC, It's clear that Gunn is the only director who gets superhero movies, who can tell a story, can do humor and pull on the heart strings, shoot action, has a visual flair and who can make a superhero movie feel fresh again compared to the guns-for-hire-talent that Disney usually employs.

I saw Quantum-mania a couple of weeks ago, that was a borefest, a sign that superhero movies are way past their expiration movie. GotG3 on the other hand was terrific, but I fear for the future of the MCU now Gunn is gone for good. After this high we'll probably get a neverending stream of crap once again.

The first Guardians of the Galaxy is one of my favorite MCU movies and I even consider it to be closer to being a Star Wars movie than the sequel trilogy of Star Wars.

The second movie was okay but I really like the first a lot better.

First one is legendary quality and I suspect over time, when people recap this entire thing and start making lists of the ones worth watching, it will be at the top or close to it.

Just got out, wow, best Marvel movie since Endgame easily. Tons of feels, just a fantastic close to the trilogy. Makes me excited for Gunn at DC if he can bring this quality over.

Just got in from watching it with my missues and brother. Realy enjoyed it, its dark, funny, great characters if you like them from the previous films its more of the same. A great horrible cunt of a villan aswell. A good ending to the Guardians trilogy and maybe the last good Marvel film now Gunn has fucked off to DC, were just going to get more soy simp fest films from them from now on.

I loved the movie. Great unique visuals of alien locations and devices, super emotional, great action scenes (like the hallway one), some good jokes, great villain. It was everything I wanted from a Guardians movie. Would be down for more adventures with Star-Lord.

I saw it in IMAX but this movie seemed perfect for 3D. Take the intro scene for example with the hand going towards the camera seemed like it was directed specifically for 3D and the fight set pieces.

Really good way to end the trilogy and a good sign off for James Gunn and Marvel. Funny that the head of Marvel's direct competitor was the one that gifted Disney one of its best movies in awhile AND even after they fired/hired him over a nothing burger AND lunatics were trying to cancel Chris Pratt but it was the whole cast that was there to defend him while Disney itself was spineless. Marvel is so incredibly undeserving of this film.

For GoTG triogy I'd rank it 1,3,2

Gunn is good

I prefer the MCU movies that don’t not try to set up a million things and/or to focus on fitting in the ”grant overall story”

It was pretty cool in 3d, that shot being one of them.

Disney was litersllt never at any point even considering firing Chris Pratt. That was all Twitter noise.

If anything

The post credits scene kind of shows they are scared of losing him to DC now that Gunn is leading the charge there. I imagine he's booked on for some small avengers secret wars cameo

Just saw it in IMAX.

By far the best Marvel movie in years. Badass action, beautiful visuals and great character development. The whole thing was packed with heart and emotion.

Man, some scenes felt like a punch to the gut, had to fight back tears a lot.

My only complaints are that Adam Warlock felt a bit wasted, as he didn't have much to do, and the villain was a bit generic, but not bad by any means.

A great end for the current guardians, with lots of great things to look forward to.

8.5/10

Said I was gonna watch it but after getting half way into the Christmas special to catch up on some missing pieces I gave up because that shit was MAD GARBAGE. So I was like "If this movie is just like that I ain't watching it."

Just saw this on my YT feed...

EDIT: Thumbnail had spoilers smh

Holyfuck. Maybe I should go watch it.

Yeah, I'm getting convinced to go next weekend. Word of mouth by respected posters is working. Gunn unfiltered can be very hit or miss for me, looks like this will hit.

Do I need to bring some onions to cut as cover?

It's a solid finale to Gunn's trilogy, but it's not as good as the first Guardians or even his Suicide Squad. Too many forced saccharine moments, and I felt like it should have been shorter than 2 hours and 30 minutes.

That said, it was great seeing Cosmo in live action... but Square Enix's Cosmo was superior.

Edit: Just checked out of curiosity and the Guardians game is on Steam's Top Sellers list. That Vol. 3 bump!

I just finished watching it, and I can say that now I have full confidence in James Gunn to lead the DCU. Specially Superman!

This movie has a lot of heart. It was incredible. Definitely not perfect, but it’s one of the best MCU movies!

I left wanting more. It feels nostalgic that this is the last movie that we will see this team as is again.

Just watched it. I thought it was around 8/10 maybe less. It was good overall, and even tho it's long it doesn't feel long because there's a lot happening.

The humor is mostly miss for me, feels like same joke over and over again. Gunn's humor is something he should leave with Marvel.

Also there were a lot of scene where they kept shouting at each other for no reason, as if that's the only way to show emotion. I didn't like that, things can be acted better.

Good visuals, heartfelt moments, I shed some tears.

Marvel movies were do disappointing lately but I have high hopes for this one. I'm going to see it next weekend with the kids *fingers crossed*

Zoe Saldana also said she is retiring the character and won’t return.

I read Bradley Cooper too, but this one seems more of a rumor than something he mentioned.

Brad will definitely come back. Easiest paycheck ever save for diesel.

Dude goes into a studio for maybe a couple 12 hour sessions and gets top billing playing a character who, for a certainty now, is going to be a household name for years to come. Who happens to be a talking f***ing raccoon with a gun.

And given the way this movie ends he can probably ask for more money the next time around given the characters importance.

Hes insane if he turns that down. Its free money.

Honestly I xould see Zoe come back too but it'll be a while. I think that's fine her character is mostly fulfilled for now, until they go for that half of her in the soul stone.

Both Zoe and Dave stayed that a big factor was the grueling makeup process. If Disney csn work out a way to reduce that, with CG recoloring or body doubles or whatever they can probably get her back.
