The Cryptarch's Bane
i'm so ready for a new zone it's not even FUNNY how ready for a new zone I am!

edit: game is alead, guild is delive

Ice Bow 4 can stack up to 4 stacks of might from a group of foes.

Yeah, my problem with that is that, by the same logic, a lava font would get 10 extra ticks of damage on a group of foes, at 2 per target. lowballing at 2500 per tick, 4 might vs 25k dmg, well... eh. Then there's also other stuff like how with persisting fields, you dont get lava font downtime while casting meteor or dropping ib4+3.

can you be this grossly incandescent, kos?

I never redeemed my cobs for pails.

Stuck with 18 slot bags forever.

Edit: Also never turned in any of my shiny wrappers lol

The Silverwastes sounds like a completely new (non-GW-inspired) area! Want!

Seems like a number of new armor and weapon things to go after? I of course want the infinite Dust Mite tonic.

Buffs for everybody! I like these
Engineer
Magnetic Shield: This skill can now be used while moving and will no longer root the engineer in place.
Guardian
“Retreat!”: Reduced the cooldown of this skill from 60 seconds to 40 seconds.
Necromancer
Life Siphon: Increased this skill’s base healing by 25%, and increased the scaling with healing power by 75%. Fixed a bug in which this skill increased by 25% instead of 20% when traited with Bloodthirst.

A talking Replica Job-o-Tron Backpack is now available in the Style category for 600 gems.
Talking?

ha:
Reduced the cost per use of the Silver-Fed Salvage-o-Matic to 60 copper.
I believe you have to chance its name then guys

Ranger

Point Blank Shot: Added a warm-up to this skill and changed the projectile to help differentiate it from other ranger longbow abilities.

Well, it was fun.

Time to go play Sunset Overdrive.

Completing events in the Silverwastes rewards you with bandit crests that can be traded for a variety of rewards, including:

Recipes to craft components for the new Sinister stat combo (condition damage, power, and precision).
An Endless Dust Mite Tonic.
The Bandit Combat Journal, used to unlock the Bandit Weapons Specialist collection.
Bandit Skeleton Keys, used to open Lost Bandit Chests buried throughout the area.
And more!

Search throughout the Silverwastes for Lost Bandit Chests.

Complete events to receive Silverwastes Shovels used to find and uncover chests.
Once a chest is uncovered, every player in the map will have a chance to open it. Don’t forget your Bandit Skeleton Key.
Chests contain Embroidered Coin Purses, Lumps of Raw Ambrite, and a chance for the new Endless Arid Devourer Tonic and new high-level bandit weapons with a choice of stats.

Oh joy.
Does the bolded mean that nodes can be stolen now?

Carapace armor. Pretty baller for heavy female.
Hmm, Sinister. Condi Power Prec. Could very well impact the meta.

I'm sure that trait is better for stack and spank PvE. But this trait provides easy offense without having to carry arcane wave or brilliance. Also I like to keep my build versatile for sPvP and WvW as well, where enemies move.

Moreover I think you shouldn't discount the quadruple might proc on conjure: 3 from sigil of battle proc, 1 from the act of conjuring.

two new zones.

TWO.

and i didnt had to pay anything at all. the only things i paid were for things i wanted, and they are totally cosmetic and optional.

I didn't factor arcane wave or brilliance into that, otherwise i'd have upped the damage to 3.5k per tick :p

But hey, sure, for pvp you're probably right. Ain't messing with WvW until they add profile presets tho >___>

Just finished running this episode with Kos, Lump, Jira and Peck. No story spoilers.

- Easily the best storyline of any Living Story update. This goes place we've wanted to go for a long time, tells things we've wanted to know. Really top notch.

- Really good fight mechanics in the last chapter. We genuinely had to figure out what was going on and then execute it.

- Silverwaste is insane, like PvE: World vs. World edition. Escorting supplies, fortifying towers. It feels like a real war effort with an enemy that refuses to yield. I hope I'm right in that the Pact base will be upgraded continually over the next episodes until it's a proper fortress... we'll see.

- Rewards are top notch. Gem store stuff is neat, optional stuff, in-game armor sets are impressive. Everyone but the pickiest Redditor has something to love here.

Key word: be killable.

You can't fight back.

Basically, you pay 2g to git ganked.

Dat masterclass design.

There's more going on there than it seems. There's a Tarnished Chest up on the ledge that requires a Tarnished Key, and there's a trap mechanism you can use somehow (though it unflags you for PVP). I think the Tarnished Key might drop from PVP somehow, it'll need to be dug into a bit more, but it's such a small, isolated area I can't see it impacting people too negatively.

On the even brighter side I'm downloading the patch at 30kb/s on my capped internet. Listening to TSwift in the background makes it seem faster though ^_^
at least, that's what people say, mhm.

HUGE lore bomb dropped in this patch.

http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/2la158/datamining_new_world_map_of_planet_tyria_showing/

Names of areas we have never seen before, further confirming that arenanet is sticking to the map that is on the OoW globe.

Also trade routes! We thought that the battle isles were destroyed, but this map seems to suggest they have not been, especially since this map shows new damage to Kaineng City that the first one doesn't show.

Haven't been this excited about the future of the franchise in a long, long time.

Soooo does it progress stuff at a faster and more interesting pace than we're used to? Because every Living Story episode so far plays out like an episode from the first season of Lost. Lotta hype, moving at snail's pace.

Oh no. Shit goes down here. Questions answered, one section is a lore junkie's dream (SO MANY BOOKS TO READ) another is a GW1 junkie's nostalgia trip but kicked up to GW2 quality.

The fact that you get the whole (or at least, a very large section) of Silverwaste makes it feel great. I didn't mind Dry Top's gating because every section was so dense with content, but having a huge swath of map with all sorts of crazy things going on all at once is fantastic. So many little places to explore, things to find... I'm not there yet (still processing) but this is probably the best Living Story update we've gotten.
