ok, they definitely need to speed up Battlepass progression... I played 4 games any only am level 1 now... like what?
In Apex Legends I easily get a full level up during my first 2 games of the day (sometimes when the challenges are just right I get a full level in my first match)
Weekly challenges give WAY too little XP. 200xp for a weekly is weird, and they are handled weirdly, you can't even see/complete all of them from the beginning, you first have to complete the first few visible ones and after each you complete, one that wasn't visible yet gets moved up and only then can you actually complete it.
this lead to a situation where I played a deathmatch where I killed literally 6 people with the Warthog turret, only to then see the weekly challenge in my menu to kill 1 enemy with said turret... like, what? such a weird way to handle weekly challenges

I don't even have an issue with that really, but the weekly challenges just feel so low value, and I want to see all of them at once and not have that situation I described above where I easily completed the challenge, but because there were different ones in front of it and it wasn't "available" to me yet I didn't complete it.
having xp for finished games would be nice tho. or at the very least for games you win

Halo is like one of the cleanest looking games presentation wise out there. In what way is any of what you said a distraction to this game's visual presentation? Especially since you can control blur. It's the first thing they give you access to in the accessibility menu when you open the game. You can drag it all the way down to like 0.. out of a 100. Maybe it's a different blur, I would think it's the one you're referring to.

exclusive fullscreen barely has any lag or performance benefits anymore. many newer games don't have it. and I bet you have fallen for fake exclusive fullscreen modes in the past.
hint: not a single Direct X 12 game has an actual exclusive full screen mode. they all have borderless window. the exclusive fullscreen modes some of these Direct X 12 games offer only emulate some of the behaviour of what exclusive full screen does, but technically it's still borderless window full screen, it's more or less a placebo setting that offers little to no difference from borderless window

the issue is that when a game has such a system, and it feels unrewarding, that is an issue.
a game that doesn't have this in the first place is also ok, but if you have a feature in a game, it should be good, even tho it's not a feature that is essential.
I play games that have zero progression in them, and I have lots of fun with them, but having a progression system that just feels odd in place is distracting no matter if you want such a system or not.
but it really only needs a few tweaks imo. like I said, having all weekly challenges available instantly would solve most of the slow feel the system has atm.

Battlefield 2042 supports Fullscreen and it's DX12. Also I want to be able to use DSR because the TAA is a atrocious.

They dont mean Exclusive in that way. On PC there is 'fullscreen' which is often just borderless windowed, and 'Exclusive fullscreen', which is well, proper full screen.

Played a bunch of different game types then got in some ranked matches before I had to get the kids. Game is fuckin slick, runs like a champ on my aging PC too. Went undefeated in 5 ranked games and even had a positive K/D. Feels good on keyboard and mouse

halo usually also has for fun modes like Infection or Grifball... Big Team Battle usually is also a good playlist for people that aren't super hardcore because of the map size and the craziness of the matches every type of player usually has fun in that... you can get lucky and get a snimper and then just sit in a good spot and snipe people... or you hop into a tank and blast people with that etc.
currently they only have 3 playlists sadly, but Big Team is there at least

Boderless is literally a window that is streched to your screen size, exclusive full screen completely takes over your video output. every older game that runs in fullscreen does that...
play an old game that runs in exclusive fullscreen, change the resolution to something that doesn't correspond to your monitor's resolution, and then Alt-Tab out of the game... see what happens...
now do the same in a modern DX12 game that runs in borderless window... you will notice that Atl+Tabing out of a boderless game is way less janky because your video output mode is the same at all times.

Enjoying everything apart from the visuals, I'm on Series X and I know the old Halo art style debate thing, i just expect better on my next gen console . Just look at the lady character model in the training mode, she speaks to you as a introduction, her armour in particular, the lack of detail, it's like a early X1 game.

I can't tell you what's wrong with your setup, but it works for me...
try hitting Alt + Enter (I assume you didn't know that that's a universal fullscreen keyboard shortcut) but that usually doesn't work with DX12 games
also, I am specifying exclusive fullscreen because, like I said, that fullscreen you see in that options menu is fake. DX12 games have fake exclusive full screen modes that work basically the same as Fullscreen Windows (Borderless window)
and when you stated that "halo has no fullscreen" I expected you to mean that it only has borderless window and that that pisses you off... maybe next time state what you mean more correctly and say "fullscreen isn't working for me" instead
