Halo Infinite multiplayer is 113k concurrent player on steam now

Just got an update .. can't wait

It means Fullscreen, not borderless.

not in DX12 games it doesn't :messenger_kissing_smiling:
like I said, that Fullscreen you see in that options menu, is basically the same as borderless window. the "Fullscreen" and "Fullscreen Window" you see in that screenshot of yours are basically doing the same thing (because DX12), the "Fullscreen" option gives the game the ability to change your desktop resolution, but that's about it. it basically mimics features that real exclusive fullscreen modes have, but it won't help with latancy or performance (which real exclusive fullscreen does do to a small degree)

Sure okay, but I want to use Nvidia DSR.

You'd think the PC Master Race would know that.

You'd think I'd bother to keep up with everything. I don't.

12 years ago dual-channel memory made no difference in game performance when compared to single-channel. Now it does. I didn't know that until I looked up benchmarks from the last 2-3 years. I was wondering why I wasn't getting the performance I should have been getting.

It will. Halo is only reason most people get xbox. It shouldnt be that hard.

Well...not really.

I've heard this before and I've seen little data to really support this. A lot of the sales of the games, don't line up with the actual hardware sales and I believe the days of Halo being that type of game for XB are long gone. Its not to say folks shouldn't have fun with it and enjoy their MP etc, simply that more reasons exist to buy XB from titles that move stronger units consistently.

please try to complain harder, this is not enough for qualifying for the League

lol I hope this goes to show people, folks will complain about any and everything.

Based on this, no game this fall is worth buying using this logic. So holy shit, issues exist on COD beta, Battlefield beta and now Halo beta, my god its like its NOT FUCKING LAUNCHED YET, if only some way simply just fucking called it something to it means not launch, like a name for something early, or not done yet etc? lol

This literally shows that no online game is launching perfect, I don't think any online, software ANYTHING is launching without issue as software is dynamic, its not a finite thing. That will never stop anyone from saying the classic "dis brokeN" and or "not finished" or "should have been delayed" for online stuff.

Simply ask them, who put out a AAA FPS with online that had no issue? not even 1 =)

How can we fucking complain about Halo, when we have zero example of any perfect launch of a online title? So we are going to hear those classic complaints asking for shit that has never happened in gaming and giving us examples of games that have been updated for years. Would be like saying "OMG why is Windows Vista so shit, Win XP is just awesome" (ignores the years of updates to get it there) lol I don't think MS, EA and Activision are making online games for the first time, I think people are expecting something completely unrealistic in terms of networking on day 1. I think personally if Star Citizen doesn't launch with zero issues, people need to STFU about this for life lol They game has been in development for eons and if it even launches at all, we'll see if this stay in development for life is some real actually way to roll out games

These are steam numbers tho. No xbox, no gamepass.
I know that. I was just adding my opinion because it is an Xbox Exclusive.

My point was that it's free! It's not that impressive when it's.. Free! It's known good franchise, it's kind of expected, out of the world's population, I'm struggling to see how this is impressive considering once again, it's free.

It was a shadow drop. No announcement date at all. If this had a drop date like forza, the numbers would have been crazy.

There are people now, who has no clue that halo MP is out now.

other big games that were free did not go through the roof like this. Destiny 2 launched on Steam as a free to play game and got nowhere near these numbers withing the first 6 hours

That is all very true, but I'm still not impressed by these numbers lol..

Shadow drop or not, Halo has a huge following hence the numbers, hence not that impressive. This is not negativity on the game or what's happening, I'm very pro Halo. It's just.. What's all the fuss about? There's nearly 8 Billion people in the world. Halo is good, people love Halo.. Circa 200K numbers on Steam or whatever it is.. big deal.

I hate things being hyped up when there is no real hype, it feels forced.

I'm sorry? Destiny 1 and 2 sold more copies than Halo 4 and 5... LIKE WAAAY MORE
pretty sure Destiny 1 sold more copies than Halo 4 and 5 combined, and Destiny 2 outsold Destiny 1 afair
I'm talking about Halo as a whole franchise, not game sales. You really think Destiny or Destiny 2 is a bigger household name then Halo? Seriously?

Did it do so on Xbox? Or are you referring to total sales across all platforms?

Halo 4 alone made $300 million its first week. It also outsold Halo 3 for sales in the U.S. market during each respective launch year.

during the XBox One era is definitely was yes, BY A LONG SHOT...
Well I guess if you are looking at interest because of the last two Halo's being a bit of a failure then I guess the numbers are good but I just think everyone in the gaming community was interested to see how this game was going to turn out so I'm not surprised by these numbers and kind of expected when they drop the MP for free.

HELLLLL NO! Not even during the Xbox One era is Destiny a bigger name than the Halo franchise. You sir have lost your damn mind. I know countless people who still have no idea what the hell destiny is, but just about all know what Halo is, even people who don't play it. Halo has never dropped below Destiny in terms of name recognition or household names, ever.

Best to say it outsold Halo as a multi-platform title, but it has never exceeded Halo's pure draw and insane popularity. When you introduce the extended fiction into the discussion it becomes even worse. The fascination and obsession with Halo lore is at a level Destiny may never reach.

Maybe at least try to follow what he's saying.

I do, Destiny had a time where it was ridiculously popular, Destiny 1 sold 25 million copies, Halo 4 sold 9.7 million
Destiny 2 outsold Destiny 1... Halo 5 sold worse than Halo 4 and Halo 4 sold worse than Reach (not by much tho, they are all in the 9.6 - 9.7 million ballpark)

I think it is fair to say that the popularity of Halo went down, and Destiny's went way up during the last decade.

just because a franchise WAS popular in the past doesn't mean much

Why are you only talking about the Xbox one when he clearly said franchise?

because the franchise lost popularity REALLY hard during that era...
you know... popularity is not a thing that just stays the same over time

Even during the Xbox One era Destiny was never a bigger household name. Even the pre-release hunt the truth episode obsession with Halo 5 that was happening everywhere, that's a power or hold that Destiny simply does not have. The first Destiny had major hype coming out, and then released to massive disappointment if you remember correctly because many of its boasts and claims about its world and story were never delivered upon. The game then needed to be fixed over time. Destiny 2 did a better job out of the gate, but it still didn't have a larger or more significant draw than the Halo franchise, especially when Halo Infinite was announced. It was just a superior selling game because of its multi-platform credentials, but it simply doesn't have the draw of Halo. People have a love for the Halo universe and characters in a way that never disappeared even during the Xbox One era. Destiny even at its very best can't command the type of excitement that is generated at the thought of a new Master Chief adventure.

I really want to know how EA executives reacted to learning Halo was launching early.

Edit- somebody got a camera in the CEO's office

smh, just let it go man. 01011001 makes a solid ass point even if you like Halo. Destiny's sales are just too massive to pretend no one is talking about that game or some shit.

You went from Destiny not as big.

(Destiny sold more)

Ok ok.....but day name not household doe

(proceeds to backpaddle to oblivion)

The point being made is sound. Pac Man is a fucking house hold man, that doesn't mean that shit is overtaking the big releases happening this year lol

Agreed.

I liked Halo back in the day and had a blast with it on PC, but those days are done. Its how I feel about lots of IP, Star Fox is a great example, just cause i LOOOOOOVE Star Fox 64, doesn't mean I'm buying any of the horseshit they are putting out now. Those days are gone, its over. It means they are now fighting for a new demographic to pick up the IP (which is a great idea btw) as they are not getting that old install base back, those folks have moved on.

I don't even know what being a household name matters if they are selling shit units compared to Call Of Duty. With how many units Destiny has sold, its 100% known and talked about and a house hold name right along Halo, but it actually sells better.

Torrent of Pork Torrent of Pork lol I don't think they care all that much. BF and Halo are just completely different games.

Halo offers nothing to me as a BF fan to get the same BF feels. They are just not comparable. Maybe they are looking into it if anything based on another shooter like Titanfall 3 or another APEX title or something, but shit even then APEX still had some massive as download count like 50 million or some wild shit lol

So I'm sure Halo will do just fine, but I don't ever see that shit taking COD numbers or Fortnite or APEX or Destiny 3 etc. Those days are long gone and I just don't see a return to a lot of Halo's core concepts.

I'm having fun. Only reached level one and still learning maps and weapons. Definitely has that one more match vibe to it.

Instead of typing a dissertation how about you go play the games you like instead of arguing with people about the ones you dont.

I'm so happy. It really feels like a good halo game. The DNA is there. Weapon balance seems great with each having its ideal range that it slots into perfectly. Maps are fun and unique. Graphics and performance are solid. STOKED
