If MCC came out on PC next year, how would you guys react? Double-Dip?

Also, would PC Gamers even accept the games or complain how they are bogged down by consoles like they do?

Of course they'll complain, but I suspect a lot of the hate that gets thrown Halo's way from these corners is because it's a console-only franchise. PC gamers would have a host of other stuff to complain about, but I think little would have to do with the gameplay.

I heard that the vista version is pretty much a carbon copy. Apparently the only difference is the xbox version loaded faster. lol

I never played the Vista version so I wouldn't know actually. I'm just awaiting the meltdowns if or when it's revealed that Halo 2's engine is the PC engine just like Halo 1.

Why does he keep calling it the Warth Hog?

I assume because English is not his first language.

Not completely sold on Spartan Strike, but i'd only play it on xbone anyway so it's okay.

Though why would the covenant be looking for a specifically Promethean artifact in the New Mombassa invasion?
I'm not entirely sure we've gotten the full details on the story, or it might be either simplified or garbled a bit (see above.) When we get the presser straight from MS hopefully there might be a bit more clarity in the log line.

Let's not act surprised, the PC maps are included, it's Vista.

I'm sure they will make it play fine and it will be okay.

Glorious in fact.

The "framing device" for Spartan Assault was, essentially, having recruits fight through famous battles using crazy hardlight VR; could be an in-universe easter egg.

Maybe I was the only one who truly heard Dan Ayoub when he said "Halo 2 Anniversary will contain the Original Halo 2
Vista
Multiplayer...exactly as it shipped
07
years ago...
on Windows Vista.
"

You guys just blocked out some words is all...

So something looked funny about the Halo CE MCC sniper reticule...They look way too big. What's up with that?

Did some comparisons (yes, one is 8x, the other 10x, but that doesn't affect reticule size):

Original (including PC):

MCC:

The sniper reticle is from CEA. Not sure why they changed it, but that's def the CEA reticle.

So Spartan Strike was just announced and I'm yet to play Spartan Assault.

Is it any good?
7/10 game. I thought it was fun, but it's also short. The console versions do have online co-op, but that's short as well. I'd say you would still get your moneys worth.

Whatever happens, it needs to be purchased BEFORE MCC's launch.

Pretty damned excited.

Sik, check out the AC deal coming in November, just before Halo MCC is released:

A new Assassin's Creed bundle for the Xbox One will be released this November.

The bundle, coming November 2 worldwide (unless you're in the UK, where you'll have to wait it out until November 4), can be picked up either with or without a Kinect sensor and will include digital codes for upcoming Assassin's Creed Unity and last year's Assassin's Creed Black Flag, too.

The bundle - which will include a standard Xbox One console, wireless controller and headset - will retail for $500/£400 if you want the Kinect sensor, and $400/£350 if you go without it. The Kinect pack will also include a copy of Dance Central Spotlight.

Interested?

I think I might go with the PC version as it's cheaper (Xbox 360 version costs 9.99 vs PC 4.99) and I have no intention of playing it online.

Thank you!

It will probably release next year on the Xbox One.

I still need to play Spartan Assault on the 360. Downloaded it and never played it, because too many other games kept me busy. From what I played on Steam, I like it.

I thought the Vista version fixed some graphical issues and improved textures?

It did. It actually had a handful of fixes and improvements to both audio and visuals. It also ran pretty well, too - I remember getting 1080p/60 without a problem.

The real problem with it was the awful Games for Windows Live implementation, lousy mod support, and the ridiculous artificial Vista-only requirement at a time when most people (especially gamers) were staying away from Vista due to its suckiness. Some fools at MS thought a port of Halo 2 would force people onto Vista, and instead just managed to shoot themselves in the foot with the release.

It would ultimately be a good thing. Why would any real Halo fan be upset that more people get to play the series again? If anything, I think it would be great for the Halo PC community which has been neglected since Halo 3.

Not only would it potentially bring a lot of sales but give Halo more mindshare on the PC in terms of shooters. Plus there are a lot of Halo fans who won't buy an Xbone but will probably buy MCC on PC day one. Even HaloGAF guys like Booshka, Overdoziz, EazyB etc. I think a release just before the Halo 5 release hype starts would be good. By then, most MCC/XbOne sales will have dwindled, and it would be good to get a ton of people excited for Halo 5 possibly.

Yeah, but you have to remember it's a phone game. Missions are like five minutes long but there are a ton of them, and everything is well polished. I'd say worth it considering it was never supposed to be a $60 game.

I don't think I see MCC going to PC any time soon. Microsoft still really needs to sell Xbox Ones and I don't think they're going to give up their one major calling card. I could maybe see MCC going to PC in 3 years or so after Halo 5 is out, but nothing in the immediate future.

Or it could satiate pc gamers and non Xbox one owners into not buying an Xbox one and H5 :/ it's a tough call, ultimately I don't know what's best in that regard.

Plus another big exclusive going to pc would just start another shit storm and will probably, honestly, have people saying I'll wait for h5 to come to PC...

Edit: What the guy above me said. I think they should release in after halo 5 has been out for at least a year. If halo 5 is going strong then people might be pushed into continuing the journey online and off with halo 5

I got money on March of 2016. I still think its happening but yeah it wont be super soon.

I suspect we'll never really get an explanation for what the actual capabilities of the Infinity simulator are. It's like the Star Trek holodeck; cool tech that comes with some really odd questions. At least Infinity's combat deck is huge, so it's reasonable to assume that the environments it generates are mapped 1:1 with the physical space; in Star Trek there was always the question of how many people you can stick in a holodeck in separate locations when it's a 30' x 30' room.

I dunno if I like the sound of the retcon to Prometheans in 2552, but I dunno about "this is headcanon exercises on the holodeck" as a rationale either. I'll wait for more details.

EDIT: Also Spartan Assault came out on Win8 devices first last time before coming to consoles. I expect it'll be a similar deal this time. Would be awesome to have it land day-one on all platforms but by the time it came to consoles they included the free DLC and co-op so I wouldn't complain.

A year after halo 5 comes out, mcc comes to PC. With a purchase of mcc on PC you get $xx amount off a purchase of a halo 5 Xbox one bundle?

Might be a good idea.

Spartan Strike looks cool (I enjoyed Spartan Assault). Kind of weird they're including Spartans during Halo 2's events, but the prospect of visiting Gamma Halo and New Phoenix jazzes me.

Not headcanon; so far as I remember, that's the actual in-game framing device for Spartan Assault. Strike will probably do the same thing.

I think it's just a question of using Forerunner hard light tech to generate a variety of terrain, buildings, enemies, etc. in a big empty space. Humanity doesn't really understand the technology, but working off of (and sometimes just outright using) recovered Forerunner artifacts incorporated into their existing systems by the Engineers goes a long way.

There's a difference between "reenact Palmer's adventures in 2553" and "Hey, what if we discovered some Promethean artifacts in 2552?", though.

Oh, my bad, misunderstood your comment. Yeah, I dunno. Might be somebody messing with the training program, or an in-universe easter egg, or just a "what if" scenario. We shall see.

EDIT: Nevermind, just got to watch the video all the way through. Yeah, I've got no clue what's going on there.
