It looks just like a re-skinned infection.
To me it just looks like a re-skinned Infection.
Holy shit guys. They built the entirety of halo 4 THIS YEAR. Seeing where it ended up I am very impressed. They managed to make "the definitive halo" in ONE YEAR. Bungie am cry.
Seriously though good work 343. The development of Halo 4 sounded pretty intense in this OHI and I believe it has paid off wonderfully so far.
Oh, I see. Yeah, I wouldn't put anything past Travissty.Fixed.
Oh and the gay farmer reference and KT.
She took the badass Mandelorian bounty hunters in Star Wars (Bobby Fett's gang) and turned them into gay farmers. She also likens the Jedi to Nazi's.
Hmm.
You're right, it's not funny. Instead, it's just fucking awesome.
That's it. I'm starting a petition to make the Arbiter's homosexuality canon. #Queerbiter2012

You're not kidding. My favorite part:Bonnie crush bias aside, that OHI was a really excellent read.
Halo 4 is a result of the energy, blood, sweat, tears and the distinct human smell of the people at 343.

Uh, no. Final assembly but the whole thing took three years.
That was a great write up by Bonnie. Man this month is going to go by sooooo slow, the anticipation is killing me. That last line though:
"There is no crying in Halo, but I dare you not to by the time the credits roll."
I think this spells trouble for Cortana.

Anyone want to play some Reach infection?
All I remember is a 10fps fly by of the PoA and some sort of text that scrolled or faded away too fast for me to read. It'll be hard to top Reach's credits.
It'll be hard to top Reach's credits.
If you play Halo 1, 2, 3, ODST, and Reach in order, Bungie's run with the franchise ends on the first thing you see in Halo 1 and what they hooked the world on Halo with: The Pillar of Autumn and Installation 04.
Yeah, that was a pretty emotional moment for those of us playing since Halo CE and I'm sure for others as well. Not sure how 343 will top that. But then again, they don't need to in that sense.
Bonnie Ross said:Kenneth, who fell for the “this space is just temporary while our real space is under repair” line during the interview process, joined our team as the Art Director. When the reality of the bad space set in, Kenneth started doing phone interviews for potential candidates in the hallway because there were no private meeting spaces. When it got too noisy in hallway, Kenneth moved his office to the men’s bathroom instituting a do not flush policy during phone interviews. Some of our best talent was recruited from the men’s bathroom. It was my own wailing and lamentation over Kenneth’s bathroom interviews that finally got my manager to approve us moving to a new space.

I've never enjoyed playing infection much simply because the infected don't really have enough tools to attack the survivors. Playing games where all the survivors group up on a high point was the epitome of bland game play in Reach imo. It always took some lucky combination of attacking for any of the survivors to die. I'd really like to see the flood have some more tricks up their sleeves. Perhaps the thrust ability will help. I would like to have seen temporary partial transparency or camouflage, and even more speed given to the infected. Otherwise, I feel Flood in Halo4 will play out the same as it did in Reach. Maybe I need to go back and watch some Flood footage. Can anybody who had some hands on time with Flood mode reiterate their thoughts on it?I have played tons of Infection, and I mean well over a thousand games in Reach alone. But I don't believe I've ever seen anyone kill all the survivors by themselves without dying. I've gotten quite a few infection spree's in my life but I simply can't imagine pulling off that gravemind medal.
Maybe having one less survivor will make it easier but man that medal seems outlandishly difficult. It's certainly a good goal and I know what I'll be trying for now. It's gonna take quite a bit of luck to run into players that terrible AND have the other alpha zombie fail completely.
Some random comments from the bulletin:
-Flood: 2 alphas spawn per round, 3 rounds. 6 players spawn as alphas and 4 do not. Still imbalanced.
-I know I've mentioned this before, but I'm still shocked that they made a gametype centered around a flood theme AND have a weapon sandbox that was designed to fight against the Flood, and you don't use those weapons in that gametype. Truly an odd decision IMO.
-Abandon is one of those maps where after a walkthrough and screens, I don't have the first idea of how it will really play.
-I still think the medals look bad. They look nice when you blow them up in high-res, but when you look at them small like they are displayed in the bulletin, which is basically how they look in-game as well, and they all look the same. They are not immediately recognizable.

Fictional wise you could explain that the Spartan-IVs must learn how to fight against the Flood with weapons, they are going to have always with them. Some random comments from the bulletin:

It's crazy to think that Halo 4 was being planned before we even got our hands on ODST.
I can't believe it. Really, Putting it that way makes me go crosseyed.
I personally think they didnt change the mode too much because they wanted to keep the simplicity of it intact. You know the setup, loadouts and tactics from the start, adding another layer would imbalance the simple nature of it. Not to say I dont agree with you, it is kind of disappointing that the selection of weapons has not been widened. Some random comments from the bulletin:
