I'm an iPhone fan myself, but I do hope Nokia Lumias get some traction. To me they look a hell of a lot nicer than Androids and really seem to be genuinely thinking about unique and standout features. Too bad they aren't as attractive to carriers and Windows has been so delayed Nokia faked all those shots.
I'd really like another BTS on the human side of things, actually, since I think the Covenant are uniformly ugly dinosaurs

Thing is, here on Gaf you are talking to people that are (typically) very knowledgeable about their electronics and tech, and are usually early adopters of said tech. You're beef is more with the general crowd that buy based on marketing more than research.

One of the moderators at Forge Hub wrote up a scathingly humorous "review" of Smashed when it debuted, and Shishka got all riled up in a retort post and booted the guy from Shiska's bnet map-testing group. Overreactions all around.

Yes, because everybody that disagrees with you is mindless sheep. Tell us more about you then anybody else. Heck, Kyle and Overdoziz are the most critical guys ever, but they back their stuff up better then anybody else.
Common sense isn't fact btw. That they have learned from the TU implementation is a given, if they use the same configuration is questionable.

I can accept things that 343 are doing and not be a mindless sheep just as I know people can be critical without being a purposeful troll. So much tunnel vision around here siding with being so pro or so anti change it seems (and not specifically you either).
I have it on good word that Walshy may be competing at Dallas. I will reveal my sources at a later date when he confirms it.
Edit: Also, Crimsix won't be competing in Halo anymore.

It was kinda eh but I think I got it like once in matchmaking. I also somehow never got Tundra in Halo 3 matchmaking (the Crypt sandbox variant made by a Bungie employee).

It was a simple attempt to make the meta-game actually mean something. Video games already teach kids and young adults all manner of bad behaviour, racism, terrorism, and violence. I doubt adding a wager system to the meta-game Sparty Bucks is going to cause moral decay or destroy the economy.
As with all things in video games (violence, language, sex, etc.) they should be enjoyed in moderation and with the clear acknowledgement that these things are fictional.
Edit - I mean there are literally already casino simulators and card games which are explicitly teaching people to gamble so I can't see a real detriment to adding some wagering to Halo at some point. You could even bet on Chocobo races in FFVII (or one of their countless iterations).

Feels like Halo. This gif needs more love, it gives me major Halo CE vibes right down to the Suppressor, which seems like the Halo CE Plasma Rifle and the Plasma Repeater had a kid that looked mostly like the Plasma Rifle, acted like the Repeater, and grew up into a really sexy combination of both.
I don't think 343 ever said that A Hero Awakens was just two parts, actually. Hmmmmm...

I like your ideas, and I agree that betting would be awesome. I mean, everyone who likes sports bets on them anyway so why not? Grinding for hours to get credits is just as bad as betting other people for them, in my opinion. You just have to learn to limit yourself. Life gives you infinite options so you can choose to make the right one; the best entertainment shouldn't be any different.
Real money e-sport gambling, now thats a different story. When games are designed around making money, well you can say goodbye to the entertainment.

That seems like a good team. Rotate the commentators per game or series. Or have 3 commentators with 2 doing play by play and 1 doing background/color/stats etc. Although I would still prefer to see Puckett in the booth.
Also, sorry to u4ix for not knowing he had commentated for MLG before - good work, better than most of the MLG "talent"

Fuck Collonade. One of the worst maps I've ever played.
I like the reason that happened: Halo 3 was rigged to favor getting you a new (base) map after a veto.
It was a community playlist, so 99% of the maps were on Sandbox, so of course it attempted to give you Foundry after a veto, hence you were practically guaranteed Collonade since it was the only (or like, one of two) Foundry variants.
Good times.

Yeah I remember, even though I was sure there was maybe 3-4 Foundry maps, but 90% of the time is was Collonade anyway, for some reason. It was an awful map but we all just found it hilarious.

it takes all of 30 seconds to go download the app. or fire up safari and use mobile youtube. and it has its own base maps app too. all pretty spurious complaints
