I was having fun with game until I tried playing MP. It then turned into Halo: The Master Wait Collection

And yes, Halo 2 saves are bugged. If you save and quit, and then return to your game, don't be surprised if you have the start the level all over again. Hell, yesterday, I got a 1/3 through Delta Halo, but the game sent me back to the beginning of The Arbiter level :/

I was placed into an solid 2v2 on Turf, and the H2 classic matchmaking only took about 30 seconds!

And, in typical Halo 2 fashion, the person I was playing against rage quit because I kept killing him as he was trying to pull off a superbounce.

MP is broke so I played H2A campaign. Wow the campaign still holds up. Its been a long time since I stayed up that late addicted to a game. It dose so much right. For instance at the beginning of the level This Town Isn't Big Enough For Both Of Us its a sniper level. What makes it unique is that the the sniper part is not forced on the player. You have so many choices of how you can play it including just jumping in the back of and hog and blowing shit up.

I sort of wish they spent the CGI money on remastering all 13 MP maps.

I'm not sure if it all came down to money. The studio in the doc said that it's a large enough task to do 6 maps, so MS would have either had to have given them more time, or outsource maps to yet another studio. Probably not feasibly possible in the time frame they had

Am I the only one having no issues with singe player?

I haven't played Solo, but I played Halo CE campaign with a buddy on launch and had no issues or drops; probably played for 3.5 hours? Enough to do mission 1 on LASO (Jesus the torture) and the next 2 on regular Legendary. Everything was smooth.

We got all the achievements were trying to get too, and I think one or two we didn't even meet the requirements for, lol.

Maybe so, but it would have been nice.

Personally I would've been ok with them just keeping the same maps and underlying geometry and physics but just layering a nice coat of paint like they are with campaign. They probably could've done all of Halo 1 & 2 instead of just redoing those 6 maps

Another vote for this. Waste of money. Would have much rather it been spent on remastering all H2 maps and hell... they could have even brought in some popular, select H1 and H3 maps. Would have enjoyed that more. Well... that is if i was able to play multiplayer... so... would have eventually enjoyed it more?

I don't believe this is the same fix that they talked about earlier but we will see as they said morning PST time and it seems to early for that.

It's about 6:30am PST

I wouldn't expect anything, if there is anything to come, till 8-10am....or 1.5 to 3.5 hours.

Also guys...this is only the second day. I'm surprised there was no beta/demo for this too. I think we're going to see early open (or large closed) betas a LOT in the future.

If the big issues (Matchmaking, UI, Party System, Roster) aren't fixed by the end of this weekend I fear the population will never recover and we'll have another BF4 on our hands :(

MM being hopefully fixed today will alleviate some of that. Hope their server side fixes work out.

Breaks my heart, this was supposed to be the greatest game(s) ever.

No don't wanna sound ungrateful. The MCC is a great package, but the fact that remaining 19 Halo 2 didn't get remastered bugs me. Sometimes I think I would have preferred just a complete, total remaster of Halo 2, than everything else we got. I mean, Halo 3 and Halo 4 are still pretty recent. We can still play those on Xbox 360. Nobody really asked for them or wanted them. Halo 1 is nice I suppose. We get to play it (officially) online on console for the first time. Bit it's odd how there isn't a dedicated playlist for just Halo 1. Again, with so many studious and people involved, they really couldn't do every Halo 2 map.

For everyone involved and for the fans, it's the clear and obious focus. Halo 2 is star of the show and the main draw. Blur's cut scenes are amazing and terminals are a nice touch, but all everyone really cares about us the return of the best Halo's MP. H2A MP (when you can actually okay it) is everything and more than what I wanted. If only I could play every map, in full remastered glory, I'd feel even better about the overall experience

If it will help the performance of Halo CE, I would be more than happy not having the ability to switch engines on the fly. Make the person choose which engine they want before starting the game, and if you want to switch, it reloads from your most recent checkpoint. A gimmick isn't worth this horrible performance and input lag.

I just got a match made Halo 3 game... Team BRs on Guardian.

Holy shit. Those dedicated servers make so much difference. For the first time playing Halo 3 ever online, I didn't feel disadvantaged. Absolutely amazing. Everything just felt smooth.

I kinda booted someone to see if I could though. Oops. Sorry man xD

Did Microsoft rush this out for the holidays? Did this game need more time in the oven? I picture this a April release originally to get hype for H5

If you could boot somebody, you were probably the Host. The host get no lag, 'cos, host.

I have had more enjoyment in the first 3 levels of the H3 campaign then I did in Advanced Warfare campaign. I understand that the games have different universes and going for different experiences. But man I am loving H3 campaign so far. Unfortunately I am starting the first Flood enemy level, and I dislike the Flood in general.. I might skip it :)

Halo 2 is by far one of my most fond memories of online gaming for me. First game I played online was Tribes. Halo 2 was the first online game I played via broadband. I was going to buy an Xbone and MCC to experience that greatness again. I'm glad I waited. Perhaps it will be sorted out by Christmas time and my wife will take pity on me and get me this then.

Not shocking at all. H3 is one of the best campaigns of any FPS ever. It holds up incredibly well.

Definitely starting to get into more games now, can't get into BTB or anything H2A yet, but damn it feels good to play some Halo CE and Halo 2 classic.

Playing Halo 4 next to these games is weird. On one hand: the gunplay feels terrific and sprint is actually nice, on the other: loud outs, perks, ordinance, and weapon locations seem especially egregious now.

My biggest problem so far is it splitting me and a friend up. We were split screening and at one point it split us up 5 out of 6 games. Anyone know if that has been fixed?

It hasn't been fixed, but 343 did acknowledge this specific issue and are working on it. Parties being split sucks :/

Problem here is if they don't get this fixed then a lot of people will put this game down or trade it for something else. That will impact the online community in the long run.

Would have been better to delay the game and get this stuff right.

I'm starting to wonder if 343 did any of this or if they were just giving the orders.

I got the impression their roll was to advise, direct and test. Off the top of my head, there were seven atudios involved with this game, if not even more.

Plus, I assume it's an all hands situation for Halo 5, especially with a public, open beta next month.

So apparantley these guys were the ones who designed the UI....

Honestly I never seen a game work with more than like 2 developers at a time.
This only proves it to be true.

It would be interesting to know as well. Promotion, Producing and all that not very dev like stuff aside, I'm sure they did a lot of the testing and such.

But if I had to guess I'd say the bulk of 343 is neckdeep in Halo 5. MCC was already 4 created games. They have a somewhat new engine running H2A, which they probably built.

So it does kinda make sense to have your studio working on Halo 5 and just hire some extra guys and outsource to glue the pieces together. But I guess because of that, and likely some time constraints and such the game came in hot and messy.

Even though it is a bunch of old games in one package, the fact that they have that much shit on the disc, 5 seperate game engines running within one unified UI is impressive. But that is not an excuse for the plethora of issues this game launched with.

Seems like they were trying to get it in before Christmas, no doubt MS was pressuring this too as MCC was a big system seller. And they were trying to hit the Halo 2 10 year anniversary window.

I'm so glad I didn't buy an Xbox for this game... yet. I really wish this game to be amazing but all these glitches and troubles really put a damper on my excitement. Not sure if I really want to pay 400-500 euros to play it anymore. Even if it is at a playable state.

Just bought this yesterday and played Pillar of Autumn and Halo from Combat Evolved last night.

1080p...60 frames...on my 60"...it was like a new game all over again...

I am in a H2A multiplayer match only took a minute to find the game, hopefully I stay in the session once the match is finished.
