I stand by my original comment then. Damn at how much work went into this though.

Thought the same then I realized they have the hardest task. They have to combine all the projects from other developers and try to find a way to make them all work together effortlessly. I bet you they didn't get all the final codes from other developers until a month before this game was due.

If 343 themselves were responsible for the whole project and took their time + beta multiplayer, it would've worked a lot better. However, that's not realistic considering Halo 5 is due next holiday season.

Saber Interactive did the paint job for Halo 2 Anniversary (and Halo: CEA), Certain Affinity did H2A multi, Blur did the H2A cutscenes and additional scenes, Ruffian did the 1080p and 60 FPS ports of Halo: CEA, Halo 3, and Halo 4 while 343 did the UI and matchmaking infrastructure for the MCC. The H2A terminal developer escapes me.

United Front Games did the UI: http://www.unitedfrontgames.com/ufg-microsoft/

We’re super happy to announce that we’re working in collaboration with 343 Industries, Saber Interactive, and Certain Affinity to bring you Halo: The Master Chief Collection! Honoring the iconic hero and his epic journey, the Master Chief’s entire story is brought together as The Master Chief Collection, a collection of all four Halo games, including the re-mastered Halo 2: Anniversary, all at Xbox One visual fidelity and 60 fps.

The team here at United Front Games has been working on a unified interface that spans all four Halo games and ties them together into one cohesive experience. This means that you’ll see each Halo game side-by-side as you select your favourite missions, and you can play ranked competitive playlists that seamlessly span multiple Halo titles without having to “switch” Halo titles! We’re pretty stoked to be involved with the Halo franchise alongside several other talented studios, and we’re all working hard to bring this massive title to you this holiday season.

Just managed a big lag battle on the h2a bloodgulch. Looked lovely, but there was a bit of lag....

Has anyone else noticed the input lag as well on this game??

Started Halo: CE last night, coop with a buddy. Noticed massive input lag, or the best way to describe it is the game feels floaty. I remember this when I played it on 360 though too. We will see how it is when we get to Halo 2.

I've had a little bit of server issues but not too horrible. I was able to play 4 matches of Halo 2 anniversary mp. Man, it was glorious. Felt kinda strange to not be able to sprint at first, but once I got back in the flow it was amazing.

Loving H2A campaign as well. Those cut scenes! Truly amazing. Realy loving the visual overhaul to everything as well.

Feels like this will be my side game for a long, long time. I'll just keep coming back between other games and knock out some campaign or play some MP. Really impressed.

The Sleeping Dogs devs did the UI? That seems so random to me lol

I like the UI though for the most part... Can't waitto use it when it's working properly :/

The kinks will get ironed out. Its not like this is how the game is going to be forever. Go buy cod. Put it on your credit card if you have to lol. People be acting like this one game has ruined their lives forever. Everyone needs to put on their big boy pants and learn how to deal with adversity. They dont teach that these days unfortunately.

So your saying we should all be okay with spending five hundred dollars for a system, sixty dollars for a game, sixty dollars for internet play that we can't even use properly? You must be okay with paying to essentially be a beta tester. That's what I've felt like I was with almost every game this generation. I'm not up in arms over it like some, but this is fucking getting redundant. Can nothing work like it's supposed to today? I'm tired of accepting that big companies can't handle a single game launch properly anymore.

What reviewer played these games and gave it over a 80?

For fucks sake I wasn't 20 mins into Halo 1 and the halo channel came up to show me a video. Zero controller response after it was done.

Halo 2 again not 20 mins into it, dropped me to the dashboard losing all my progress.

Multiplayer is 100% fucked.

is it any better yet?

by the amount of devs working on this game, they really gearboxed this.

Is this game going to be the Halo version of Alien CM?

I pray to god it's not.

This is my question as well. WTF game were those dudes playing? That Jleack guy made it sound like this collection was the end all be all of Halo ever and I can't imagine how anyone could feel that way.

I was thinking they went Ubisoft...except all Ubisoft devs are considered in-house.

With Halo we expect a certain quality bar and MCC completely breaks that expectation. Bungie developed everything under one roof and it showed.

Wasn't the problem with CM that it was a bad game....?

The Halo games are all fantastic, they just need to iron out some server issues and stability. Easily Patchable,

lol seriously? This is bad business practice simple as that. We can, and should, be as vocal as possible. Some people don't take getting walked on as lightly as others.

Multiplayer support was only added last week (that's when the 15gb patch went live) so chances are many of the reviewers reviewed the game without actually playing it online. Or if they did, it was at a controlled 'review event'.

My game crashed at launch twice just now (repeating sound and couldn't do anything) followed by a 5 minute matchmaking wait for Team BRs in which it was a 3 vs 2, where I was in the 2 and the 3 were in a party.

Fun fun fun!

Yeah Gerstmann said that the only multiplayer that was previewed was over lan at an event a little bit ago. That is what all the reviews are based off of for the most part.

From Eurogamer:

UPDATE 12/11/14 13.10pm Microsoft has told Eurogamer that the new update to fix Halo: The Master Chief Collection's matchmaking servers has now gone live.

I've just tried matchmaking and it still doesn't work.

I would just stick to custom games and stay away from matchmaking for about a month. Make new friends on this wonderful board.

Even the single player is completely inconsistent though. Outside of H3 I don't think any versions of the games are in fact superior to the originals. The split screen sucks so freaking much. I got a nephew that had never played any Halo game and this was going to be such a fun way to introduce him to it. I'm sorry for getting so heated but this crap really caught me off guard

Also, online co-op is a mixed bag for me. When it runs fine, it runs great. But either when it starts lagging or for some other reason, sometimes it starts dropping frames like crazy. I can't pinpoint the exact reason for it, but by god, it's terrible.

Do any of the reviews mention split screen?

For the record single player works okay for me. It caused my Xbox to lock up once and I've had some slightly strange issues outside of levels, but overall I don't think the single player is terrible. I haven't tried split screen, though.

because Bungie, say what you will about Destiny are a bloody solid dev and make sure that no matter what the game mechanically will work.

The issue again for Halo MCC is they had no beta so no idea what crazy things would happen when out in the wild... Just like Halo 4 did....

Wasn't the problem with CM that it was a bad game....?

I liked the core of A CM don't know why but I just found it funny.
The core story is all there it's just that achievements and all the core elements that should be in the box don't work.

This game screams too many cooks.

I stand by my original comment then. Damn at how much work went into this though.

Watch the 60 minute making of Halo 2 doc on the Halo Channel...it really is amazing if you think about EVERYTHING they did. Re-recording weapon sounds, re-making music, all the ports, the maps, the curscenes, the terminals, voice acting, mo-cap, ect... I could go on and on.

Is this an update I need to download?

I anyone finding halo CE almost unplayable in multi?? Laggy as hell
Worked fine for me (played from Pillar of Autumn through Silent Cartographer on legendary) with a friend (he hosted). I didn't experience any noticeable lag or skipping.
Me hosting Halo 4 though... That game needs work before I get back to it. It was super janky.

I'm really sick of reading the excuse here "they didn't know how crazy things would be until they released it. a few patches will fix it nbd."

Get the fuck out of here with that garbage. You should be able to release a video game without a hiccup by now. I see this exact comment with almost every video game release. It's stupid.

I'm playing H2A mp right now and it's still taking quite a while to find anyone even if you refresh the search after a completed match.

'fix' is not a word I would use right now, more like a small step in the right direction on fixing matchmaking.

I really can't be bothered with this anymore, matchmaking is broken and the Halo: CE campaign is just frustrating me now.

I was so excited to play this yesterday, but it's all fallen apart thanks to these problems.

Halo:CE is at least fun.
It is a shame the MP is such a mess because I got 3 months of XBL. I guess I will hold off on using it until they fix it to be more stable.

343
Saber Interactive
Ruffian Games
Certain Affinity
United Front Games
Blur Studios
The Sequence Group
Bungie?

Crazy ass list of out sourcing

Ha, how could I forget Bungie. They at least didn't have anything to do with putting this collection of games under one roof with a singular UI. If we are going to add Bungie I guess we have to add Gearbox (Halo PC) as well and maybe Hired Gun if Halo 2 was based off the Vista version (not sure).

I sort of wish they spent the CGI money on remastering all 13 MP maps.
