So I've been playing through CE on legendary solo and all I have to say is fuck those Elites. Bastards dodge, dive and duck all over the place when their shields are down. If you don't pop their heads with the pistol immediately you might as well go hide because they will shoot you down while you're trying to take them out. Also, they are pretty damn smart and agile along with the grunts providing covering fire.

How did Bungie go from that AI to Destiny's? Can't comprehend the huge gulf.

Halo's AI always had such *personality* to it. Each enemy has such a strong, identifiable set of reactions and habits that the different combinations of Coventant always felt fresh. It also meant that even a simple addition to the Coventant (like enginieers in ODST for example) created a whole host of new challenges. The stellar AI is a massive part of why I replayed Halo's campaigns so much, and why they have stood the test of time.

If I could pick a Developer to make AI for my dream game it would have been Bungie. After Destiny I'm not so sure. Without getting into it that *personality* of Halo enemies seems non-existent. The 4 races all do pretty much the same thing.

So I finally get into a game and bam.. gets booted. Fuck this. I'll be strictly doing campaigns and playing other games until they get this shit settled.

I do appreciate couch co-op is a dying breed nowadays but I am concerned they allowed it out in the state it is, Halo 4 split screen is almost unplayable and the others are juddery and messy

I have a disappointed face on right now and a bit gutted, been excited for ages for this and split screen is half assed attempt at best

When you install the game? 15GB

Thanks. Oh well, then I don't know what the fuck is happening.

Yesterday, I put the damn disc on the console and starts installing, 13 hours later and is still installing. The patch was about 15 gigs right? I went into broadband usage and the last 12 hours I've downloaded at least 17-18 gb. This doesn't make any sense since the patch is only 15gb.

I'm starting to think that this shit is making me download the whole fucking game from Xbox Live, but why? the disc is on the fucking console!

Any idea? sorry if I made any mistakes trying to explain, english is not my native language. I'm frustrated.

My game just kicked me back to the dashboard, loaded it back up got a message from 343 about matchmaking then got prompted about it downloading the latest matchmaking data.

Are we getting there?

"You have been kicked."

What the fuck.

You can kick people from pre-game matchmaking lobbies and Halo 2 Anniversary matchmaking multiplayer. Hold select to pull up the player list, use the right stick to select a name, press A on the name, then select the "Kick from party" option. Boom, they get booted from matchmaking.

This wasn't that. It's updating everyone's server client right now, it's kicking people off the old client.

I remember this, but why would they bring that back?

Got into a game of 4v4 Anniversary quick. Was going AMAZING.

But someone had host privileges and was doing poorly so they ended the game.

Teams are still uneven. I got into a 2v4 with the one guy on my team being afk. Yeah not good. At least the Game was nice enough to end at 25 kills for some reason.

I checked that in my games earlier but the option was not there, I presumed they hotfixed it over the night, guess not!

*edit* or it's just a matchmaking update!

It's like the matchmaking servers are spinning a wheel of misfortune and assigning random nonsense to every game. What garbage.

I'm still confused as to how this happens. Six divided by two is three, it's pretty simple, and it's not like its preserving parties, either.

Maybe they're using non-integer values for player counts and getting a round off error when dividing it by two. I have no idea.

First time playing the Halo 2 campaign (on Heroic).

It's kinda boring.

It's a game which has both ages well and not so well in parts, at the time nothing was like it apart from halo CE, it was hard even on heroic when not used to taking on AI like you do in halo.

If you have played the newer games and anything in the last few years it makes halo 2 AI seem rather standard now.

There is no host.

Ummm Yes there was. Is there supposed to be a host? no... But there was. Or at the very least someone had host privileges. I got a host ended game message and everything.

Plenty of people have reported this issue. It's not new.

Edit: I see you edited your post in which case that's completely irrelevant. They still have host priveleges and they shouldn't... I didn't complain of host advantage.

Remember that list guys, matchmaking times are a separate bug than uneven matchmaking. They'll get those teams even soon enough hopefully. if times are starting to get better they'll move on to the next problem

Edit: I hate iphones

A few missions in on Halo:CE and the difficulty on Heroic seems just right, fairly punishing but easy enough to eventually grind through tougher spots. I really really forgot how damn good this game is, I couldn't even care less about any technical problems I am BLOWN AWAY for real.

That's...woah. Has it progressed in the last few minutes? If you were installing the game while connecte to Xbox Live, before starting to install what's in the disc, it'll download and install the patch, and after that's completed it'll begin to install the game.

If I were you, I'd wait a bit to see what happens. No progress? Delete everything, unplug your console from the internet and install the game while being offline. Once it's done (it doesn't take that much, maybe 30/45mins) connect again to Xbox Live. It'll begin to download and install the patch, and while it does that you'll be able to play any campaign.

I hope this helps!

i actually prefer aspects of the old CE visuals compared to the new textures honestly

Saber did a much better job with the H2A updates, personally. They blended the old and new Forerunner aesthetics in a way that I think works better than the two styles did independently. Also, they made things glow less, which kind of went overboard in CEA.
