Calm Killer

In all media, only true fans who consume every book, film, game, or pog collection deserve to know what's going on.
Playing a halo 2 btb right now and it is stupid laggy.

2v2 Halo CE is the most balanced MP Halo experience to date. There are known issues with the weapon and player spawns in the PC version of Halo CE. Xbox Halo CE has some crazy spawns here and there, but they are for the most part under you or your teammates control, and the opposing team can exploit the spawns to trap you. Which you have to fight out of, it's part of the metagame.

It's random, messy fun/frustration to a lot of players, but if you put the time in, pay attention to the details, and learn the game, you'll learn that is a lot deeper than you thought.

I think i met you in 2004 ;)

Not having any luck with matchmaking but I'd love to play anything but Halo 4. If anyone has a decent size custom lobby going send me an invite. xxJoesusxx

So trying out the new updated matchmaking, found a game and started loading a 3 v 3, the loading bar never filled and now the game has locked up on the main halo collection loading screen, the match never started.

At this stage, I don't know why 343 haven't disabled Matchmaking completely until they've fixed the issues. Leaving it in the state it's in right now is going to piss off people more and/or put people off matchmaking for the duration of the game.

It's bad enough that they fucked it up - it's worse that they keep coming out with bullshit updates, telling us to try it now, when nothing has fucking changed.

The difficulty is fine (and completely unchanged from the original games), you guys just suck.

Sorry. ;_;

Well Games changed. They Are WAY easier now. Just look at Halo CE, there is no marker telling You where to go.. And now compare this to skyrim. Just follow The marker.

I feel the same way, hopefully this problem dont scare away a good chunk of the player base. (but this is Halo so Im sure by the time this get fixed most of the people will come back, the game when it works is really good)

Why? will they Update them again when these problems are fixed?

im just talking about the ones who didnt give a review score and were waiting for official launch like IGN

Who paid you to grab Dr. Pavel?
Got like 85% through Delta Halo, hit a checkpoint, game froze then Xbox reset. Gotta start all over again... At least it was just heroic.

Games are getting found a bit faster. Roster is still completely broken as is inviting and backing out mechanics. Kept getting split up teams with my friend. Kept getting uneven teams.

First game I plan on refunding digitally and finding a cheaper physically copy down the line. Fuck this

Joke post? You must not remember Halo 2 launch.

Why do people keep referencing Halo 2 launch like it was some kind of massive clusterfuck? I played thousands of games of each and every Halo release and was the person waiting in line at GameStop first. I waited for Halo 2 for over 24 hours and was able to get into game after game for launch night. I played a very little campaign and then rocked out in MM from ~1:30am-~5:00am getting game after game. You can look at my Halo 2 stat page if you'd like to verify:

Then to top off the insult of people claiming that Halo 2 had issues even remotely like TMCC, I was able to then play every day after launch for hours without issue as well. The same is true of each Halo since the series inception. The only game that had issues even remotely close to this release was the week or two that XBL was having issues after Halo 3's launch. Even then, you have to look at the whole picture and realize that the issues didn't propagate until it was nearly Christmas (the week of Xmas iirc) and that was the same year that CoD:MW was released and it is my opinion that CoD had a bigger impact on the XBL issues.

The simple fact is TMCC has been an abysmal launch, and is compounded by the fact that the game is what a huge percentage of X1 owners were looking forward to playing when it launched. The SP issues are ridiculous as well, but I'm talking about MM. I have gotten into about 8 games using MM, but each and every one has had some issue from the long list of issues that everyone has highlighted. That is 8 MM games total when I tried for about half of the time I was online launch night (12am-6am EST) and a few hours last night also. THAT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. I don't care what game it is, what franchise it is, whether the system is capable of patches, if it is 2014 or 2004, if all the other games are doing it, or what console it is released for. It comes down to the fact that there is no way that this wasn't known about prior to launch and this is all news to 343i. Look at my game history with Halo as a franchise through the link above and see that I'm not crapping on 343i, I played and enjoyed H4 a lot.

This game has been a horrible joke so far. 10 years ago I was able to boot up my console and play Halo 2 right when I got home, played campaign for a little more than an hour and then was able to play nearly two dozen MM multiplayer games ON LAUNCH NIGHT. I'm sorry, but TMCC or XBL or something isn't working right. I pay for XBL, I paid for TMCC and now I want to use what I've paid for.

Dan Ayoub said, "...all four Halo games, exactly as you remember them. Online. With dedicated servers. At 1080p/60fps." So far, I'd say this is about as far away from exactly as I remember them as 343i could have gotten. I will be playing this game more than any other game I currently own when it is working properly, but until then I will catch up with a few PS4 games I've been neglecting and maybe some more Wii U.

tl;dr-- Halo 2/3/4 were not this broken when they came out. Anyone who says otherwise is likely not correct.

I remember Halo 2's launch very vividly. I got my game at midnight, brought it home, popped it in my Xbox, and was online playing MP with my friends at 12:45am and had zero problems until we passed out at noon the next day. Where's the joke?

I love me some Halo CE, but you can't tell me that level design was better than what we have today. People keep getting lost because that first game has so many identical level pieces that you're constantly feeling "Did I just enter the same room?" Not to mention that in a few levels like The Library, they had to put giant glowing arrows on the floor just to make sure you weren't running in circles.

lol, ok so my team mate left making the game 4 v 1, I was getting whooped, so I just kicked the other team one by one from the scoreboard lol.

This game is a joke.

I haven't got into a single match since the update went live 30-ish minutes ago. Seems worse now.

So with you on this. More than likely that most of the people claiming Halo 2 had a rocky start or networking issues in general never played too much of it... or they are delusional. (nobody specific... referring to "people" in general here)

The second half of The Truth and Reconciliation on legendary difficulty is infuriating the shit out of me. I don't remember it being this hard lol.

Maybe I'm just getting old. :(

P2P works, it's the servers we've never had in Halo that are having troubles.

Found 16 players for BTB in about 15 seconds the firstt ime i try MM, but then the map didn't load.

Hope you held on to your Sniper Rifle, there are ammo pickups all the way through the level, you just have to keep it even when you run out. Make sure you are using Plasma weapons and grenades, AR is a waste of time.

Laggy matches where players teleport around

No kill cams

The only improvement I have seen so far is that it's taken 5 minutes to find a match not 10+

GAME HAS HUNG TRYING TO LOAD THE MENUS AFTER THE MATCH come on now.....

The fact that there are so many apologists for these companies and the games means that people that find it repulsive and unacceptable have already lost :(

Nah, it's one of the hardest parts of the game. I personally love it, but yeah, it can be excruciating.

It's working more for me now. Gosh Halo 2 MP is a lot of fun. I wish I could just play halo 1 maps as I want to guy through the SP and MP series chronologically but I don't think you can just play CE maps. Oh well. Once they fix everything I can see myself having this disc in my X1 for a loooong time.

It's a shame. The only way things change is if people make enough noise. If we remain bent over we'll get nothing less than more of "this" from the industry (for the most part).

They should be apologetic. We should be loud. Hard times should be given and we as gamers need to be critical.

No problems with any of the campaigns so far. 1 2 and 3 run pretty smooth. 4 can get rather framey. Blur cutscenes are good but im not a fan of how they animate their human faces. At least lord hood looks like a person though. Matter of fact all the ingame marine faces look passable.

This game is a joke.

Seems like they should've delayed the game for two weeks. Now the population is not going to be nearly as rabid as it would've been if it was going out of the gate :(

I must have amazing internet or something. I think the longest I've waited (including yesterday) for a match is probably 5 minutes.

Yeah that's not quick traditionally, but compared to most of you guys it is.

Definitely seeing all the other bugs and shit though. Customs was harder to get a game going than MM for some reason.

They needed to launch it for them to know it was totally broken apparently. Maybe a rolling launch slowly launching in different territories?

Nah that would be annoying to those who do want to play it.

Either they need to test the servers on a global scale with a small beta or test it with more then just a group in the office / family & friends, because it's not working.

Halo 2 didn't have network issues at launch but it sure had its fair share of bugs.

Maybe it was known before, but I'm really disappointed that H2A is pretty much a remake of Halo 2 maps in the Halo 4 engine. It's like the same thing they did with HaloCE Anniversary maps in Reach. I really hope Halo 2 classic gets the majority of the online population.
