Halo The Master Chief Collection |OT| Halo Never Died, It Was Just Missing In Action

They needed to launch it for them to know it was totally broken apparently. Maybe a rolling launch slowly launching in different territories?

Open beta is always the best solution.

Maybe it was known before, but I'm really disappointed that H2A is pretty much a remake of Halo 2 maps in the Halo 4 engine. It's like the same thing they did with HaloCE Anniversary maps in Reach. I really hope Halo 2 classic gets the majority of the online population.

What? It's mostly the same graphics engine, yeah, but the underpinnings (movement, physics) are identical to classic H2.

Maybe? I don't know, I've not seen the prologue/epilogue that's been mentioned here. Does it just show up when you play H2A?

For me it does, without fail. I've just started the H2 Heroic playlist and it came up again. Try watching "Heretic" (the first "level" of H2). It should appear at the beginning.

Random, but related thought: how cool would it be if 343 added a legendary ending for Halo 2? As far as I remember, it didn't have one (and I was SOOO disappointed after finishing it, ha).

The second half of The Truth and Reconciliation on legendary difficulty is infuriating the shit out of me. I don't remember it being this hard lol.

Maybe I'm just getting old. :(

Halo 2 legendary is just hard as fuck period. I'm already dreading "Hangar 2" which is an area that occurs like 5 minutes into the game

Lol I'm with you hear. I spent 3.5 hours playing this level last night and was just about ready to lose it. At one point I had made it through the area where you find the skull after you beat the hunters only to be shot in the back by a mystery elite on my way out. Then I finally make it to the end and commander keyes kept dying after I returned to the room with the invisible elites with swords and it kept pushing me back to before I even entered that room.

I hope it gets easier

That server issue is for sure the most disappointing thing about this collection. Loving the camapings so far, but come one! They need to fix it asap!!!

First DriveClub, and now this?

And when things take longer then 2 days to get fixed I start to worry if they will be fixed soon after that, before its too late. Halo MCC time for server issues is already ticking.

Finally get enough people for BTB map starts to load and crash. Really starting to get frustrated with this.

Shame on 343 and MS for putting it out in this state.

Matchmaking still not working for me. Someone mentioned I could try requesting a refund and at this point I'm seriously considering.

And then After they Fix the problem? wait at least until after this weekend fix, if the problems are still there ask for a refund then.

Im not going to refund because I know down the line the issues are going to get fixed (even do, I haven had no problems With SP or Doing Custom and I usually find Matchmade games fast using the going back trick) and I dont want to return my game to just buy it again 2 weeks from now.

The sheer amount of problems that this game has is astounding. At this point it's basically just an offline single player game that requires a massive update for a multiplayer component that barely functions. Which will most likely mean that there will be an additional update to fix the update.

Also, if people think that the "server side fixes" are going to fix this game they are sadly mistaken. It's going to require another patch to just fix any of the problems, and it wouldn't surprise me if a lot of the problems still persist months after the release. Especially the co-op campaign crashing.

Additionally, it's ridiculous that leading up to the launch the Halo 2 ranking system was promised across all playlists, and then we find out maybe 24-48 hours before the games release that the ranking system will only be available for Halo 2 anniversary at launch

Here's the problem with many big budget developers these days. They're all trying to push for that magical holiday release season to bolster sales... and they're doing it to the detriment of the consumer because they're releasing unfinished products that have not been sufficiently beta tested.

As a consumer, I probably should have learned my lesson a long time ago, and I do feel like I'm beating a dead horse to a certain extent. However, I'm honestly nearing the point where I'm thinking about demanding a refund from Microsoft and then maybe re-downloading at a later date when the game becomes stable.

Anybody else got the problem that campaign scoring just randomly stops working (only gives red 0s from that point on)? Had it twice in a row now. It's also crazy strange how entering a vehicle reduces the framerate from 60 to 30. Only played Halo CE so far.

Not to beat a dead horse but I just logged onto twitch to watch some streams and literally everyone is in the lobby. Thrilling!

Given the game was working perfectly on LAN during the championship, I think it is a server issue.

Hangar 2 (and many other "hard" areas in Halo 2 are just plain bad design. For that particular spot, the appropriate approach is to pick up and drop a bunch of plasma pistols before leaving Hangar 1, to keep them from despawning. Then it's pretty manageable.

Yeah, the return to the bridge is probably the single most poorly-designed part of Halo 1. Checkpoint, encounter, lengthy chat, sloppy suicidal captain encounter. It's like an unskippable pre-boss cutscene.

Tip: Don't move far into the Bridge. Just step in deep enough to get the chat going. That way, Keyes will be standing on the side of the room with only 1 door that opens. When the encounter starts, deal with that door first, then address the enemies that come in from the far side of the room.

So it says Halo 1 is 100% installed, Halo 2 is 34.5% installed, Halo 3 is 0%, Halo 4 is 100%, and something to the right of Halo 4 is 22.5%.

A) Why the fuck was Halo 4 installed before 2 and 3
B) What's the thing to the right of Halo 4?

I really hate Halo 1's campaign. It's probably one of the worst campaigns I've ever played. I don't want hand holding but sometimes it's super confusing as to where to go next. It's really bumming me out.

I got an achievement for doing a mission on heroic or higher without losing health but the thing is I did lose health, I'll take it lol.

Because CE is awesome and it installs fast.

The real question is why Halo 4 is the top priority.

Halo 2 Anniversary MP. It's the mode that's effectively a Halo 4 mod made to play sort of like Halo 2.

Oh sorry, I meant to put a 4 in there, lol. I was asking why Halo 4 was prioritized, not CE. Halo CE is dope.

I got the achievement for finishing Halo 2's campaign on normal..but for some reason two of the level based achievements are still locked. Hopefully my legendary run fixes this.

Thats what I actually like most about the campaign. Games where the Marker tells You where to Go, and You just have to follow the Marker Are boring.

Ah man, I did think about whether people who are new to the series would get lost on some missions. For me, it's embedded in the brain for where to go all the time. I would say the most open and potentially confusing mission is The Silent Cartographer, but it does get easier. Hopefully it will grow on you.

I'm on Regret in H2A, this campaign sure does have a lot of moments where you just stand there waiting for the game to progress. No wonder CE was always the go to for co-op back then.

Honestly...

Get into a game. 4v4!! BR starts on The Pit!!

Actually get into the game. 6v3 (WHERE THE FUCK DID THE NINTH PERSON COME FROM!?). Game plays alright. Suddenly everyone just starts running in a line and doesn't stop.

Black screen for 10 seconds. Red team wins!

I'm about to give up.
