I am starting to think they aren't resetting the ranks and we are just losing our ranks to a glitch. Unless they are resetting them frequently to keep the matchmaking population high on that hopper for the short term

hopefully spartan ops runs, was very laggy and framerate dipped a shit load on 360.
Google search shows the site is running off Microsoft servers.
It will probably lag even more somehow lol

I looked 3. I preferred the vehicles, gunplay over 2. I played 1 and 2 prior to 3 and whole 2 was very fun in mp, I just liked the feel of the weapons in 3 much more. The br was fine. I liked that it was not hitscan anymore.

Internet high-five. The maps are among the worse in the series, though I did here there was something decent as DLC, but the sucky maps turned me off of the game hard.

Just started the Halo 4 campaign for kicks and god damn is it a gorgeous looking game. And man that sprint mobility and those weapon sounds feel like home.
Definitely stutters in area transitions (doorways, airlocks, rounding corners onto new vistas), but the gameplay in the first levels so far is so damn smooth.
If Halo 5 looks like this, refined, I will have zero complaints on that front.

Don't know if this has been noted, but on CE, when playing with the new graphics, your shots can sometimes be blocked by the models of the old graphics, like a tree or rock. The new graphics might show a slimmer rock so you shoot, only to find the bullets hitting an invisible wall, switch back to the old graphics, you see that the tree or rock is bigger.

Just played a Team Slayer. Halo 3 @ Isolation 7v6 and it was a laggy piece of shit.

Random potentially dumb question. Does the collections UI override the original game UI in opening menus? I always loved how unified and moody the Halo menu screens were.

This is a known entity since the 360 port of CE, yup. I believe Halo 2 is somewhat better in that regard as the original designs did not require as great of a remastering.

Halo 2 heroic is brutal at times. Feels like legendary in the other games. Not so much in how much damage enemies can take (though, Brutes...), but in how lethal their weaponry is against your paltry shields, and how many enemies you usually have to contend with in sharp bursts, without much cover, and without the best of weapons.

K, missed out halo 2 campaign back in the days. I couldn't even finish last part on cairo station in the MCC.
Too enjoy the campaign more i dropped it back to normal if im not mistaken.
Halo Wars 2 is probably coming; there have been two major easter eggs/references to Halo Wars in the last 6 months.
One of them was in the Phantom Dust trailer; the second easter egg is a billboard on Outskirts in the remastered version with a screen from Halo Wars saying the "the end is near".
That's why they made it easy to skip past everything.

Just finished CE today on legendary. This is my next task. Never beat Halo 2 on legendary before because it was so brutal back in the day. I can't imagine doing the LASO run though.
One major aspect it's not worse in: Beat downs. Feel so much better in Halo 3 than the other two to me. Also, I prefer BTB in Halo 3 a little bit, though I do agree that Team Slayer is better in the first two.

All the menus and start screens are gutted. Wasn't surprised by that but I was disappointed the loading screens aren't the classic ones.

Its definitely the easiest. Just beware of piloting Banshees as they're usually death-traps, and everything else comes down to avoiding those (numerous and cheap) one-hit-kills.

Yes, I got up to Rank 6, the game crashed at the loading screen after that match. I load it back up and the Find Game menu says Rank 6 for Team H2A. I select it, it then said Rank 1. I thought to myself "What in the hell?" and backed out only to find the Find Game Menu now says Rank 1 as well. The second time it has happened to me (first time I was only Rank 2, so not as big of a deal), I got myself back up to Rank 3... will probably reset again sometime soon.
I'd argue Halo 4 without skulls is harder than Halo 3. I didn't have too much trouble playing Halo 3 on Legendary. ODST is still by far the easiest.

You can skip parts? There are some checkpoints you need to fight waves of major and ultra elites before you can progress :'(
Friends that did play halo 2 back in the days started laughing saying i was a fool to try it solo and should just wait till we had a weekend free to coop it.
Want to complete legendary for that halo 5 armor.

You could be right. Solo legendary Halo 3 was the gauntlet that first opened my mind to what Halo was. And that first Brute pack encounter was just the beginning of it. So maybe I'm remembering it with added stature as it was my teething experience.
Never did get past the Cortana level though. Just couldn't find the justification to put myself through that slog.
Finishing Halo 2 on Legendary was the first thing I did with this collection. You can skip past most of the Arbiter's encounters with some smart camo usage.
