Also I'm enjoying halo 1 legendary as much as ever. I love how almost every combat encounter can play out a dozen different ways each time you retry.
It seems easier than I remember but I think this is my 4th run through the game on legendary so I do kind of remember how things work.
I remember having a lot of trouble in the first room of the truth and reconciliation after the grav lift where the sword elites swarm you but cleared it pretty easy.

Finally played a game last night after about an hour of trying. Went 1-23 in what may have been the most lag filled multiplayer game I've ever played.

I don't think its unfair to expect these issues to take a month or more to address.
These are not minor annoyances the matchmaking simply does not work. Halo CE is laggy and unplayable online, halo 2 and 4 have numerous crash bugs that many are experiencing. The game can't make even teams for most matches, people are kicked for no reason..
I would put the fixes required for this game on par with battlefield 4 at launch and that took some time to correct.
That's not even mentioning the bugs and performance issues in campaign and with achievements.
Its blatantly obvious this game wasn't finished but the release date was set in stone for financial reasons.

Just played one team slayer with uneven team. Its stuck on the map selection for the next game now.
At least I suffered no noticiable lag. Not sure if it was dedi server though (I think so).
Edit: I had to quit, even though I received a message saying I would be penalized for quiting.

I couldn't disagree more. Halo 2 was a wreck compared to Halo CE. Only thing I'll give you is slow movement speed, leading it to feel somewhat sloggy.

Straight from the horse's mouth is that the content update (patch) coming today is only to address single player issues whereas multiplayer issues are "fixed" with daily server side changes and a content update (patch) within the week. I am reading content update to mean a patch, and the within a week to mean NOT this weekend. They could have said weekend.

Just curious, can you post your Xbox one detailed network stats? Also, is your NAT Open or Strict (people say it doesn't matter cuz dedis but still curious). I was playing h2a perfectly last night and this is my connection:
Down: 33.68 Mbps
Up: 2.00 Mbps
Packet loss: 0%
MTU: 1480
Latency: 83ms
Wireless strength: 67% (this is on the 5ghz network from my dual band router, if I connect to the 2.4ghz one the stats are almost the same but signal strength is 100% due to G having better range)

If so consider me super bummed. I was hoping i'd be able to at least play some "fixed" multiplayer this weekend. I've played the campaigns over and over... i bought it because they brought multiplayer back.
Halo MCC is turning into something much worse that the BF4 fiasco.

Its not that its really hard mind you, but rather just terrible in both layout/design and length
That level is undefendable, even after all these years and is just a blight on the franchise.
Bungie/343's refusal to fix after all this time just exacerbates it.
Assualt on control room gets dangerously close to this at times as well...

Finally got into my first match after trying since midnight of launch.
But the lag was fucking unbearable and I quit.
I'm just going to refund and come back when things are fixed. No rush. Plenty of other games to play in the meantime.

I've got to agree with you as well. It's not that it's "super difficult" more it's poorly done. It's not smartly thought out or designed... it's a chore really.

This game is bringing back a lot of memories. Both single and multiplayer. Trying to remember the controls of each halo has gotten me a few deaths but I adjust pretty quickly.

Same here. Ended up going back to Destiny in anticipation of the new updates as well as being tired of what's going on with the MCC.
Can't wait for MCC: The Remaster or MCC: The Working Edition to come out in a few months.

Those LASO achievments look terrifying. I would be fine if they did not turn off the Aim Assist. Well, not fine, but it would be doable.

I'm at The Library now, have to go to work but just turned the console off with instant-on. I'm at the start of this level, but I've seen that there are plenty plenty plenty of enemies, I mean... is it reommended to kill all of them before continue to the next section, or just leave some of them behind? Man... it seems they dont stop spawning ever! 
Am loving the Halo CE campaing though! Awesome game, and in my honest opinion, it doesnt feel aged at all. Such a fluid gameplay!
I've many complains about the MP match-making though! A complete and disappointing mess! Also there are some bugs when creating a party, or sound issues, or whatever that can be pretty annoying aswell.
I hope that 343 is really doing their best to fix the MM problems, and then that they work on some bugs... cause things are really messy in this collection.

It is painfully obvious that this game has a lot more than "server issues". Is there any ETA on the client side patch that is so desperately needed? If matchmaking stays broken this weekend I can guarantee a significant portion of players will put the game down and never pick it back up again. Please don't kill the last chance classic Halo has before you really turn it into space cod.

343i is incapable of handling this franchise with the respect it deserves. I can't believe they didn't take out any of the glitches from H2, even the re-mastered version has pop in textures. Brutal.

Somehow I had plenty of sniper ammo for the whole level. I went through it just using the sniper and the AR. Used at and plasma grenades to clean up grunts and jackals, and took elites out with sniper as soon as possible. Use the cloak in that first room later on in the waves, because its random when you get those gold sword elites. When cloaked you can go sticky them pretty easy or even go for the back stab/melee in the back for the instant kill.
Be patient and take cover for shields to recover, don't stay in one place too long, and take advantage of choke points for plasma grenades.

Even if they are "laser focused", I would estimate somewhere between two to four weeks to fix the amount of problems MCC has. The UI doesn't even work...

It's a total fuck fest, I'm fine with no autoaim though, makes it more challenging.
I had a scenario earlier where I was standing on one side of the map at the end of halo and on the other end was my hog, health pack, a grenade and ammo. I had next to no ammo left, no shield and one red bar of health.
In between us two were about 20-30 covenant, anything hits me i'm basically straight up dead and there is no where to go. I had hit a checkpoint too and I was about 2 an a half hours into the mission, so no going back.
Over the course of an hour I managed to formulate a plan to bait as much covie as possible onto plasmas on the ground, chuck my only grenade, hit as many as possible with the chain reaction, and use that distraction to make it to the equipment I needed to finish the mission. I felt like a genius and so accomplished for doing it and not giving in.

I think if you skip to 3 hours and 2 mins, it's the last half an hour of that story, I want as many people as possible to admire my brilliance haha.

It's sad that it will happen, but people are already getting refunds.
I think most of my Halo 2 deaths are from be trying to BXR Covenant, and forgetting that I'm using global bumper jumper. "RB B R" just doesn't have the same ring to it.
I've also wasted an absurd amount of ammo trying to double shot too. I never used these combos playing Halo 2 originally, but I'm so glad they left them in. It makes Halo feel like street fighter or something.

I just burn through sniper ammo and what little I have left I'm saving for the Hunters that transport down. I remember the bay areas being a little iffy, too, but man this part right before boarding Truth is really grating me. I remember it being a huge PITA before, but I just want to complete Halo:CE on Legendary so I can get to H2!
