I've come across a single bug while playing the game, I guess I'm just a lucky one.

I've encountered three bugs in the last five minutes, just trying to find a matchmaking game.

1. The "searching..." boxes didn't come up on the right side (happens like 50% of the time)
2. I tried to back out of matchmaking and restart, and a message came up that said "connecting to your game". It wouldn't go away and I had to quit from the dashboard.
3. matchmaking found some people, then matchmaking failed and I ended up with them in my party for some reason

I just had CE skip an entire chapter. I've had enough of this. I got a refund for Driveclub and used the money to buy a much better game (Forza Horizon 2) and I'll do the same with this. Probably use the money on Advanced Warfare. I don't even care that I won't be part of the Halo 5 beta anymore. I don't have much faith in 343i right now anyway.

How far were you? :(

I was on board the truth and reconciliation :( It's fine though I will return to do this mission after the end of h4.

I was actually watching your LASO stream this morning. That sucks :(

There's no excuse for this.

Yeah I wanted to cry at first, my buddy who I spent time with in the legendary playlist to do coop with felt really bad about it, its not his fault though, when I saw that notification though going back to my LASO playlist there was a deep sinking feeling in my heart you can kinda tell I pause the first time I see it as if to say "wtf..."

If only I had saw that message before. (You can actually see i need to dismiss the notification 4 times before I discarded my legendary playlist checkpoint data)

Apparently you're just unlucky.
So... umm... Halo CE Anniversary is gross. The lighting is so static and everything is super over-saturated. I'm honestly spending most of my time in old-school mode. Also, the upgrade job isn't 1:1 with all of the objects on the level; so sometimes I'm shooting or throwing a grenade and it is hitting an "invisible" wall, until I switch and realize there is indeed a wall there. Night-vision is completely useless because of how busted the lighting is, everything just becomes an overly bright washed out green and you can't make anything out... similar to if you were to use on in the day-time.

I just tried Silent Cartographer in Anniversary mode, and it feels like the framerate is farting around 20fps or so in the beginning. Once again, switched back to OG mode, I think I'll just stick with that unless they update the framerate or something.
I feel the same way. The remade visuals look horrible. I can feel my eyes relax every time I go back to the classic.

Sigh... You do realize that there's a huge difference between having a team of 100 or so testers testing a game for a couple of months and 1+ millions users in the first week playing a game right? No matter how good the QA departement is, some situations are just impossible to see or reproduce before the game goes live.

Um it's pretty normal for there to be bugs that only show up when you have way more people playing a game.

You both realise virtually every bug showed up within 1-2 games for virtually every single player, right?

To be fair, you probably have more time here defending a developer than playing the game they fucked up.

Whatever bro, I actually got a bunch of people together on GAF the other night and we played 6-7 16 player matches in a row.

As many times as they would have played the game for QA purposes you think some of these problems would have shown up on a few of them. I really doubt these single player bugs only started popping up once the game was in the publics hands.

When a testing group goes from a small group to hundreds of thousands they're are much more likely to come across these bugs. I think multiplayer needed a open beta to help get the matchmaking sorted out. Honestly it's a cluster fuck of having so many developers working on such a variety of content and smashing it all together in a UI that works will all of it and lets you play anything you want.

The game needed delayed but with the holidays it was never going to happen. It's much more important for Microsoft to have it working by Christmas than having it work perfectly at launch.

This is just being realistic about it, same shit has happened over and over this generation.

I'm not saying this to defend 343 but yall should know from common sense not to go for tough achievements when shit is so unstable. Cmon.

Give it a week or two before you even try this shit.

Huh?

I've played though the campaigns level to level without bugs.... I've also played a bunch of multiplayer matches without bugs.

Biggest problem I've come across is that when you start getting 16 players in Halo 2C/A custom lobby it starts to bork the connection.

I bought another controller and played a ton of Halo 2 Classic(anni framerate is borked) 1v1 vs my brother, and man, that was easily the most fun I've had with the multiplayer thus far. It helps that I absolutely whipped his ass.

Even though the collection is RIDDLED with bugs, I would still recommend to fans of the halo campaigns. That comes with the caveat that you are going to experience a lot of bugs - you're probably going to skip levels, lose your save, lose your hud and fail to get most achievements.

The collection just comes with SO MUCH CONTENT, that it's tough to ignore even with all the bugs.

When bugs prevent you from accessing the content, the value of the content is zero.

Plus, I can play all of this content, right now, bug free, for all 4 games, on the 360.

Pretty easy for people to ignore and pretty easy to get a refund when you can get faster matches on Halo 3 360 than you can in Halo 3 MCC.

I only started it because I couldn't play multiplayer, I normally never play campaign, but I started to become really invested in my laso run the more i played it, the challenge was interesting, i'm just more butt hurt at the fact I have been foiled by a notification box and from what I have seen so far it's not a bug I've seen reported among the hundreds of bugs getting reposted everyday.

Anyway, im not going to feel bad about being butt hurt I lost my save considering i had found a way to enjoy the broken game I shelled out money for an xbox just to play.

PS from reddit

I can understand being overwhelmed with the number of players accessing servers all at once, but this is just funny.

Well I'm glad you can at least admit that you were happy enjoying the game instead of being hung up on the bugs. You'll have years to get the achievement. Game has been out for less than a week.

In your ideal world, would you have rather the game delayed until Feb and have it without any issues? Then have the h5 beta in the summer, and h5 not out till sometime 2016?

I know you weren't talking to me but want to chime in. Yes yes I would myself. I'd rather a publisher have the balls and self respect enough to go you know guys we can't meet the deadline. We need to delay release instead of release a broken mess.

Let's be honest. Yes you can't always catch everything networking related. However there is so much beyond just networking issues plaguing this game. You have save issues, UI issues, campaign bugs, freezes, crashes, framerate issues out the ass, and so much more that isn't even related to the multiplayer. By releasing it in the state they did they've done nothing but harm their reputation and the reputation of the franchise. Before this when you thought of Halo games on consoles you thought of pretty bug free experiences. Now you can't say that anymore. I have no doubt that the folks at 343 have to be feeling pretty shitty too. I have no doubt it was not their call to release in this state. Odds are someone at MS said it absolutely has to ship by such and such date no matter what. Sadly 343 being owned by MS along with the franchise had no choice but to do what they were tol.

Now that said were I take issue with 343 is that 343 folks had no problem promoting a product which was not up to their standards. Pre launch it was all how amazing this game is and how they can't wait to get it into our hands. That's where I take issue with them. That was bullshit and they knew it. If it weren't then incompetence would have to be the reason. They'd have to have been so incompetent that they did not honestly realize the game was this broken and I refuse to believe that 343 are remotely incompetent. They've proven with Halo 4 that they can release a good solid game that isn't a bug ridden mess.

Now all that said yea I'd rather them delay the damn game and even their next one if it meant they had released a better game that lived up to their and the fans standards. That's just me though.

With that I'm calling it a night.

There are definitely things that aren't found until you having hundreds of thousands to millions of people playing a game. Personally I haven't even had any of these campaign issues so who knows.

Framerate is kind of a touchy subject when you think about what happened with some of these games.

Halo CE: Developed on Xbox, ported to PC, remastered for Xbox 360 and ported to Xbox One while running the original graphical engine at the same time.

Halo 2: Developed on Xbox, remastered for Xbox One while running the original graphical and audio engine at the same time.

Halo 3: Developed on Xbox 360 and ported to Xbox One with a new lighting engine.

Halo 4: Developed on Xbox 360 and ported to Xbox One with a new lighting engine.

Comes down to the plain honest truth that a game not directly developed for a console is not going to run perfectly smooth on it. I'm sure they will continue to release updates to help smooth out the framerate in these games and fix the campaign and UI.

This game is easily bigger than most games if not all games this generation or last generation. There was bound to be bugs found when huge amounts of people started playing it, it always happens.

I get the feeling youd defend ms or one of their studios if they sent you a turd in a game case. Theres no excusing for this utter shit show thats not only busted in mp but ui frame rates etc. They fucked it up plain and simple. Just as evo fucked up drive club.

I just powered through the rest of the Halo CE campaign. Whoever's bright idea it was to make you drive a warthog at the end...that just left such a sour taste in my mouth due to the horrible driving controls.

So you're going to take the comment I just said... ignore everything about it that is fact and just whine about me being realistic about the situation.

I don't know how many times I've said in this thread(in these last pages) that this game has been rushed for the holidays. I never once said it was acceptable and never once told anyone they shouldn't ask for a refund if they felt they were entitled to one.

They fucked up but the important thing is that they are working on fixing it and actively staying in touch with the community about it. That alone doesn't put this anywhere near the level of Driveclub.

Not that the achievement is that important as Ill be documenting the whole experience anyway, I estimate about 30-50 hours per game to finish the LASO run considering I'm running it semi-blind and having to learn as I go. Basically ill be playing this non stop even if mp is back, but it wont take years, more like just over a month.

ive also played through Halos 1-3 so far without encountering a single crash, freeze up, ui glitch or literally anything else described in this thread. i cant prove it to you.

I know that, but I don't believe that he completed every Halo. I was asking for proof of that.

Except Evo and Sony pretty much stayed silent on the matter for weeks. It's been four days for MCC and Microsoft/343 have been working on keeping us up to date with their progress.

I’d like to provide the latest on Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and what the team is working on to address the issues you’re experiencing.

Looking at our data logs, server-side adjustments that we have made over the past 24 hours have shown a 20% increase in server connectivity. However, we are well aware that performance is not where it needs to be. Resolving Matchmaking issues also requires client-side fixes, which require a content update. The client side update, which focuses on Matchmaking performance, non-matchmaking bugs, and a variety of title-specific issues, has been completed and is going through testing and certification. We are currently targeting a release of Wednesday 11/19 for this content update. We know the current Matchmaking experience is frustrating, and we continue to have various teams working 24/7 to isolate and resolve the issues to provide the best experience as soon as possible. We are going to continue to optimize the matchmaking experience after next week's content update, and make further adjustments as needed. We thank you for your continued patience.

I never said I did.

The gentleman on the last page said that virtually every single player encountered a bug every 1-2 levels. I said I've played level to level in campaign and multiplayer without bugs.

Why even bother to metacritic and others the first score is the only one that even matters. They probably shouldn't have gotten a review up until they had tested the online fully.

At least it should give you a list of which websites to not take seriously.

This game pack is awesome. It not only breathes quality, it really shows the love that 343 Industries has for the Halo series. Both single-player and multiplayer within this game are solid, smooth and complete.

5 days after launch and MM is still broken, campaign is glitched, party system is broken, no CE playlist, no objective playlist, etc.

Sigh.

Just spent an hour waiting for a game in the Team Slayer playlist and I haven't gotten anything.

I have had 0 in game bugs while playing through any games in the collection. So far I'm about 3/4s through Halo 2 Ani which I have played far more than anything else.

I have had the save game bug and the controller settings save bug. I haven't seen any UI bugs. I have possibly been given achievements for nothing but can't verify it.

I've played multi only once and it connected without much issue. Probably due to my proximity to Seattle and super close proximity to UFG who likely helped test.

My copy is a full DD version of the game, not sourced from a disc.

I know that, but I don't believe that he completed every Halo. I was asking for proof of that.

while I only skimmed some SP levels with zero issue, I have been watching speed runners...

despite the fact that they use a bunch of bugs that already existed in the original game (for the purposes of saving time... 343 needed to preserve these)... the only new nasty bug that has reared it's head across all the runs is the halo 4 crash.

Most issues around campaign are centered around the terminals (which pop halo channel and kill the controls... ) and the save/continue and load (which speedrunners don't use because they finish the game in 2 hours)

I've watched about 15 campaign runs so far and beyond the halo 4 thing, it's been smooth sailing

Finding this hard to believe. This thing is messed up in so many ways from multiplayer to singleplayer. Either they gave you a different version than everyone else or you're bullshitting.

Just to add I have made it through 8 halo ce missions on legendary and 4 on coop legendary and had no bugs yet. Have not wanted to play mutiplayer yet.

Save your game after a checkpoint then back out, you will have to start the mission all over again, this shit has been repeated as many times as I've tried it. It may just be Halo 2, but it happens every time.

Everyone in those 16 player matches with GAF players must've been bullshitting too right?

Evo made a statement about drive club on the 8th. So can you stop saying they ignored it for weeks.

They made a single statement the day after, how many more did they release after which keeping people up to date on their progress of updating the game?

Honestly why don't you give MCC a week let alone four days before even starting to compare it to Driveclub.

That's a bummer. One of the great things was the seamless of the original games and not being made aware that 'another level has started, yo'

I'm going to take a guess that to get the unified UI working, they probably just configured the original campaigns like playlists, and it just loads them in sequence, probably dumping and reloading the Halo 2 engine between each one.

Rumor is that the unified UI is essentially a heavily modified Halo 4 main menu running in the background and it boots up whichever game engine is called up. So that's why it has to load up every mission, map, etc. in a loading screen.

I can attest to what Ford said. I actually played in quiet a few of those 16 player customs with him lol.(RAT RACE FTL)

And I am almost through HaloCE campaign with only 1 issue(the Guilty Spark Library bug).

Does it even start preloading the map after you select it in the lobby?

LOL Rat Race was a cluster fuck with 16 people.

Your Xbox Live profile is saying you haven't played a single mission in a campaign other than Halo: CE. I'm not denying you own the game, just that you are bullshitting.

Definitely played through 3-4 levels of Halo 4 and as much multiplayer as I could.

Honestly in between Unity, Inquisition, Sunset Overdrive, Horizon 2, work, holidays and this game I'm having a hard time playing through a ton of it. However I've definitely gone through level by level without issue.

Trying to play through the game on co-op with my brother but he has been blowing it off. :/

Mostly been repeating the same Halo CE levels with friends and soloing Halo 4.
