Halo CE is a much better game though.Going from Halo 1 to Halo 2 is kinda mind blowing.
Much better graphics, more polished and modern UI and Mechanics, dual wield, 2 brand new weapons from the get go, etc.
That's great.
Really getting pissed now. Achievements not popping, now I just got hit with that bug that puts you right in the library, skipping a level. They should be ashamed for releasing such sloppy unfinished shit. It sucks because I want to love this so much!!
Just as necessary as all 343i's excuses so far the "we are so SO sorry FORGIVE US!" when they had all this time to test the game or even release a Beta.
Fuck yes it's necessary when my best friend got me an Xbone as a gift with a copy of Halo only to have this thing broken for two weeks and I can't even play with him online.
All the disappointments and failed damage control is intoxicating.
Be cool about it all the power to you man, but don't insinuate this is okay and all will be fixed when all is broken.
Meanwhile, behold, another ViDoc from 343i about Halo 5 beta and how awesome and a privilege it is to work on it is gonna be released for the beta in the next two weeks.
"is this really necessary?" is why companies release BROKEN. ASS. GAMES cause they know the backlash will be Meh, this behavior in the industry is wrong and 343i BUYING TIME with a patch ETA is horrible, copies will still get sold and people will still get disappointed, the patch will release and there will be a shit ton of things wrong with the game.
IGN's review was a disgrace, they spent almost all of the time of the review mentioning how broken the MP is, the lifeblood of Halo, and they still end up stamping it a 9,even after the score they mention the broken Multiplayer. If your product has half the components BROKEN, what kind of message you're sending giving it an almost perfect score.
I want what I paid for (my friend paid for) to WORK, does that make me entitled that I want my game to work on release? Does it make me impatient and it's my fault that I didn't restart my MM search every 5 minutes with a glimmer of hope that this should do it? If so, this generation is even worse than I thought expecting to pay for a working product and that I'm a jerk for expecting my games to work on release.
Because hey, "these things are a norm now on release".
Halo CE is a much better game though.
You got a free Xbox One and the MCC from your friend? I actually don't give a shit about any bugs you have to complain about right now, man.
But I do understand the anguish to be had with games being released that aren't thoroughly tested with QA - it is a trend that is a bad thing, but I would typically give the developers the benefit of the doubt and really peg it more on the publishers pushing for a release date that may force an incomplete product out the door.

It's like 343i just do not care for split-screen anymore when 2-4 players count as 1 vote only and the framerate is sub-par.
Even though the collection is RIDDLED with bugs, I would still recommend to fans of the halo campaigns. That comes with the caveat that you are going to experience a lot of bugs - you're probably going to skip levels, lose your save, lose your hud and fail to get most achievements.
The collection just comes with SO MUCH CONTENT, that it's tough to ignore even with all the bugs.

Me to, the second half of the game drags a bit. Still pretty great stuff though. The first mission of Halo 2 was excellent. Really into the story, but based on people's impressions, I'm preparing myself for a shit sandwich.
Well, the combat, the AI, and the encounter design are much better in Halo CE. But if you are one of those people that can't look past the visual repetition, then you may actually enjoy Halo 2 more.Oh well... I'm only 1 level in Halo 2 and so far it's 10x better than the second half of CE. I'll take what I can.

Shitty grenade arcs and melees, and weapons I loved in Halo 1 being nerfed for the sake of dual-wielding.

Still way inferior to Halo CE though.
That's not a excuse, it's a apology.
They already confirmed before that this problem did not show in testing.
This kind thing happens sometimes and it sucks that it happens but they are working on fixing it and that's what matters.
The campaign, ui and framerate issues didn't show up in "testing"? I highly doubt it.

I can't wait for the day when people will finally understand how game developpement actually works and realize that it's almost never QA's fault when a game releases with bugs.

Just bad design and testing period

Well you can't blame people for an industry that shrouds itself in mystery.
No problems show up in testing when you don't test...
Um it's pretty normal for there to be bugs that only show up when you have way more people playing a game.
I mean honestly, you have 4 games(two of which running two graphical engines) that can be played back to back. I've never seen another game do this... ever. This game needed much more time in the oven but they didn't want to miss the holidays.

Good lord. Can I play a match that isn't fucking team BR's
Except for the fact that there are so many bugs that occur so frequently. There is a .0001% chance that they didn't come across the bugs. When you look at the amount of studios that were working on this, it's no surprise at all. I have no idea why you're defending this.
I've come across a single bug while playing the game, I guess I'm just a lucky one.
Normally I'm not a fan of the whining, bitching or vitriol that is aimed at games and the devs who make them. A lot of the time it's totally unnecessary and misguided. But you know what? Fuck that.
People have every right to be pissed and impatient. Far too long and far too many times games have been released poorly tested, lacking polish or even unfinished. It's unacceptable. Expecting my $60+ investment to fulfill its basic, advertised functionality out of the box isn't asking for much and isn't having a sense of entitlement. I shouldn't have to hope and pray shit works and then wait days or weeks to see if it MIGHT work later on. Something as big as fucking HALO, with the collaboration of at least SEVEN studios (if not more), with hundreds of people involved, with the backing of goddamn MICROSOFT, should damn well work with very little incident. Consumers should neither have to settle nor allow this to become the norm. So I'm glad people are mad. I encourage people to talk shit and express their outrage. Tell 343, MS, all those involved in the production of this game and everyone in the industry that this isn't okay.
Manners and decorum go out the fucking window at this point. This is business. You have our money. You fucked up. We were nice enough to buy your game in the first place. We don't owe you a anything else at this point. So fix it. Get it done and make sure it doesn't happen again.

As many times as they would have played the game for QA purposes you think some of these problems would have shown up on a few of them. I really doubt these single player bugs only started popping up once the game was in the publics hands.
BR is all H2 mp.
