Just got the "Silent But Deadly" achivement for killing 7 opponents from behind, in a row without being spotted by using a tank, whilst right in front of a horde of engaged covenant.

Master of stealth confirmed!

I think it's Friday. Hopefully it fixes the most egregious matching problems so that were finding matches in seconds as opposed to minutes. Just in time for weekend would be nice to get several hours of matches in.

Well they haven't given an exact date, so later this week, assuming it doesn't get postponed.

I hope they also fix the co-op, sucks to play level trough on legendary then crash at last minute, or not have it register accomplished.

I can't believe I bought an Xbox one for this shit heap.

Considering finishing the campaigns and selling the console. I could have more fun this weekend with that money than I'm apparently ever going to have with this game.

Don't think so, you'll need to start the level for co-op play. You can just pick the level, since all are unlocked from the start.

Thanks I thought I might have to do that. Got stuck at a checkpoint last night in The Silent Cartographer and needed some help. Legendary is really hitting me hard this time around.

I no longer own an XB1 so this isn't for me specifically, but after things started last week some friends have asked about MCC because I'm "in the know" by their standards ("OMG you're on GAF?!?" And yes I've told them anyone can read it any register for membership, and that it doesn't automatically mean you know more about video games or something absurd).

They're desperate to try to decide what console to grab on Black Friday. A few have been Halo nuts on and off for a decade but I want to be realistic and have that mean not breaking their hearts if at all possible. What's an educated over/under for how long until being able to just install the thing and go online with only a moderate amount of trouble? Something like getting matching in ~5min with few bugs that wreck the fun. Is there hope before the end of the year, at least? I could still say the XB1 was a reasonable pick for them if they didn't mind waiting it out a little longer but they'll slowly get grumpy about not having a PS4 to use without a compelling reason not to flip.

Alternatively I'm considering suggesting they get a good PS4 bundle with 2+ games, selling the retail games and trading in the console for an XB1 after this mess ends, but that's a lot of extra hassle. They'd almost surely miss the Halo 5 beta then, too.

Wait for the patch which should come live in the next couple of days.

The patch will be out this week. By the time they would get it, there would (hopefully) be no issues.

I really don't understand why they have to wait until after the patch to tell us what went wrong. What harm is it seriously going to cause to know that now?

Probably they are doesn't even know what caused these problems. I don't think "wednesday" patch will fix MM, but they will get closer to find and fix these bugs. This is sad situation

By the time they fix the matchmaking there will be no one playing (or not enough people to be able to get into any playlist you want without waiting)

What must the average customer be thinking?, the ones that don't go to game forums. Does the game even have any messages explaining why matchmaking doesn't work?

This seems like an odd post to me. All of what you just asked has been whacked over anyone's head if they chose to follow MCC OT. I would tell them again to head here if they think a console requires that much investigation for one game. Really only takes 20 minutes to skim through the pros and cons even though there are 250 some pages.

Yeah, I think I received at least one pop-up message regarding the issues upon starting the game the other day.

So Stinkles gave us no new info about the patch?

On an unrelated note, that's all four campaigns done on Heroic. Still some of the best games I've ever played, even if Halo 3 has aged horribly. I wouldn't mind Saber giving that game the Anniversary treatment three years from now, if they can keep it as close to the original as they did for Halo 2. Re-record those weapon sounds to make 'em meatier, too.

whats wrong with it?

i wanted to get a bone for this and a few other things but it seems like there are a few small problems with MCC. is it even possible to fix all these things with one patch?

Well, we won't know until they give us actual info about the patch and actualy release it.

There's some good other stuff on the Bone, though. Sunset Overdrive in particular.

Holy shit, Halo 4 campaign is a mess on the bone.

Indeed. Playing it with my brother and cousin was a NIGHTMARE. Game couldn't start in like 4 levels where the loading bar just wouldn't progress so we had to restart the xbox over, enter the first level so it overwrites the original save and then we'll set up a game on the level that the game was not starting just to get it starting again. What a mess but when it works it's pretty much heaven. Oh and good luck playing Halo 3 if anybody you know is in another country, the whole game turns into a 24 hour bullet time rendition of Halo 3 which is what it was like on the Xbox 360. I still don't know why the fuck they left DAT AZURE out of the campaign in all games. You would think with a big ass franchise like halo is, you would want everything to be under Azure.

EDIT: The only perfect experience to have with this game is to play the campaigns alone and only quit when you finish a level, NEVER QUIT MIDWAY.

So if matchmaking is still broken and the patch still isn't out why are people surprised when they cant get in a match? Has something else changed?

My experience is really weird so far...

I've played through campaigns 1, 2 and half of 3 with no glitches except for the game accidentally skipping "The Library" level in halo 1.

I've only searched for matchmaking 3 times but every one of those times I've gotten a match in 3-4 minutes. Also stayed in lobby after match finishes.
Blessed by the Halo gods

I never expected this to happen with Halo.

On the same boat...
