I really hope that people give Bungie the credit they're due with Destiny. It's one thing to subjectively not like it as a game, but you have to be impressed with how it's such a solid online experience.

Solid online experience that frequently kicks people out of games to the point it's become ritual in raids or nightfalls to have the whole team take a break while we wait for the one or two people that got dropped to rejoin. That's not my definition of solid. Also, ingame voice chat frequently being borked where one person can't hear the other. Destiny certainly has it's share of issues in the online department, it's just nowhere near the broken mess MCC is.

Yeah pretty much. Lots of knee jerk reactions and overly high expectations for one patch. We all know the game has mass problems. I dont think its wrong to freak out about the launch issues, but for some reason everyone expected the game to be completely fixed with this one patch when 343 was very specific about more patches being needed. In other news i set my house on fire cuz im so upset lol.
totally kidding obviously

We should still be upset. This isn't the way any game should be launched. It sucks that they have to wait on these fixes, but I still want them rolled out. When it works, it's amazing. So we should hold 343i accountable to get the game to the point when it's what they promised.

I wonder if this should have been a slow roll out launch.. where they bring up aspects of the game slowly over time, rather than a full package thing.

I have never seen this happen once with the 10 days of total playtime I have in the game.

So I was one of the lucky ones that was able to find games before the update. Just downloaded the update and can't find anything. 343 is a joke like this game.

REALLY? I get booted from online like on average once per play session in Destiny just about.

I mean, I've been kicked yes, but it rarely ever happens, Probably less then 5 times me entire career. I haven't played the game in a couple weeks though, so I don't really know how it is now.

Decided to try out the patch after a little Destiny, and I am stuck at downloading data? Cool beans...off I go. Now I'll be back, but how many won't? Such a shame.

I can't imagine how maddening this must be for people who bouight the game primarily for multiplayer. As somebody who bought this primarily for all of the campaigns on one disk, I've had a ton of fun. Spent over 30 hours playing to complete all the campaigns on Legendary, and despite all the bugs it's been money well spent for me.

Well, the patch did improve matchmaking for me a ton. Never was able to find a match before the patch, not even once, when I jumped on every now and then to try. Now I usually get into a game, with balanced teams. But incomplete matches, and disconnects during matchmaking are still fairly common sadly.

I found matches pretty fast and they were stable but now I'm at this download thing...maybe it's for the best, I was getting my ass handed to me.

Holy shit. Based on the feedback here, I'm glad I didn't wait on this patch before trading in my copy at BB.

So.....sad.

When this gets patched to a fully functional state, presumably by Christmas, it those who have waited that will have the last laugh.

All joking aside, Halo is incredible and worth the wait bro.

The worst thing about this is that once these issues are sorted out, the game will be incredible. Feels so good when you get into a match that works. It just makes it that much more frustrating when there's so much time between matches.

I've never experienced that once in my 50+ hours of play time. Haven't done the raid yet, but play regular Strikes and Crucible constantly.

I'll still pick it up later, if they fix it. I just need it to trade it in before the value dropped too low.

Oh my God, I was nearly done with Truth and Reconciliation on legendary... I go to resume campaign since we're all stuck downloading matchmaking data, and it starts over at the beginning of T&R. So pissed.

Same thing happened with me and my assault on the control room...

Well I'm done with my legendary play through... I'd logged like 2 hours on that level and it's kind of a piece of shit level.

Sadly, I learned about the fucked up H2A checkpoints fairly early on launch day after playing halfway through Cairo Station on Legendary, then saving and quitting to go eat. Came back, went to resume and bam! All progress on Cairo Station lost, after clearing both of the nightmare hangers too, the hardest part of the campaign for me. From then on in, I made it a priority to make time to just play the entire mission.

I'm assuming they couldn't continue hearing the complaints, so they just fully shut down everything.

So, what's going on? does anyone have the patch up and running? Please tell me it's working.

Performance seems all over the place. Some are reporting a marked improvement (like me), with less disconnects and more frequent results, where as some are reporting a downgrade, going from frequent results and matches before the patch, to instability after the patch.

It seems very inconsistent.

Honestly from the list floating around I think the problem is they didn't put enough work into the collection. 343i is a talented studio but when you outsource so much the quality has to suffer a bit.

Exactly. Still though even with the buggy mess that this game is, I am enjoying it way way more than Destiny. The campaigns keep reminding me of what Bungie really was and when the MP works it reminds me why it is considered a classic. I guess all we have to do is have patience for now. Very disappointing performance wise but when everything works it's too good and it of course has incredible wealth as well as replay value.
