Content Update is microsoft's terminology for Xbox game patch. FYI.

343 have put out an update saying basically the game isn't working properly and they're aware they've introduced new bugs.

Halo MCC Early Access is a little buggy.

The only way I can find games now is doing a hard restart of the game. From a fresh boot I find games almost instantly. After that party breaks up, I get stuck at players found or connecting match. RSing mm does nothing. Waiting four minutes between rsing the search does nothing. Only a hard reboot.

Post Patch, the customs experience is significantly more trying. Before, parties would break up after a few games but by midweek getting folks back in worked great. Now, it takes ages for everyone to reconnect to the custom lobby.

I have been the one rallying my friends to stick with this, that it's going to get significantly better very soon, but I'm really not sure what to think after the patch that was supposed to make major improvements not only completely failed in every aspect, but actually made things worse.

I have a potentially dumb question as someone who's not well versed in the Halo games.

I'm playing the campaign for the First Halo. I get to a checkpoint and Save/Exit.

The next time I play the game I pick resume but it starts me at the beginning of the level.

I finish that level and get to level two, I'm on the actual Halo now! I play for a bit, have fun with the Warthog, then Save/Exit. I get to the title screen and test it by choosing resume. I start right where I left off.

Now, I boot up the game and hit resume and I'm back at the start of level 2.

So, does Halo on only save checkpoints for your current session and the actual save feature always starts you at the beginning of your last played level?

Well, that patch seems to have helped immensely. I'm on I think my sixth our seventh B2B map in a row now. It did take a few tries to get in initially, but once I did. ..fantastic.

Wow, the look of the Halo 2 Anniversary maps is atrocious. Everything is so saturated and dark that I can't make out shit. My eyes literally feel strained after looking at it for a long time. What the hell are they thinking design wise? I was looking through some of the avatars in the game and I could barely make out what was in the picture in anything after Halo 4. There was a picture of an elite and I had to do a double take because it just looked like a giant shiny piece of metal or something.

The OG halo 2 never had that problem, it's something to do with this port over breaking the original level of darkness, I only notice it in some spots myself.

It's a glitch, Halo CE and Halo 2 are like that in this collection. Checkpoints only worked like once for me, so it's safer to just not quit the game until you reach the next level.

Huh? I think they look fine.

Actually been getting into games today too!

My bad. I meant to say Anniversary maps.

I kind of wish the anni maps have more dynamic light going on like swaying lamps and flickering light sources to make the maps feel less static, I have only played stonetown, warlord and the other 4 v 4 map so far because matchmaking.

Anyone else annoyed by the new rules for neutral bomb in H2A? Now in order to plant the bomb, you need to stand in place on the bomb spot for 5 seconds. Makes you completely vulnerable -- no more of those last second bomb plants anymore.

The original games work the way you would imagine them too. This collection is just bugging out at the moment. Hopefully it will be fixed someday.

I love how they're calling it a "content update." Yeah sure, OK.
They have history of making up hilarious excuses.

What are you talking about? Halo 2 Assault was always arming and planting. It was never instant.

I can't make out the details in the Anniversary image. Everything looks crushed and saturated. In the bottom image you can atleast make out the details of the map and it doesn't hurt to look at. I think it would look 100x better if they removed the shitty filter they have on.

Even though I get the point you're trying to make, you're using a screenshot of a YouTube video as your example. Not exactly the best piece of evidence.

Thanks! The suspend feature should come in handy until they fix this.

That's typical Halo 2 though. They changed it in Halo 3 to the instant plant and 10 second defend.

I turned my brightness way the fuck up to see anything in the Anniversary maps. I could see 100x better after taht.

Thought I was the only one with this issue. Specifically, I find it difficult to see the enemy Spartans some times, particularly blue team on lockout and FFA olive coloured Spartans on stone town. This isn't a problem in the original four Halo's.

Check your tv settings. Nothing like that here.

Maps looked fine on my monitor. I did need to set my Xbox to limited. It's a Xbox problem.

I would check your tv/Xbox settings.

Blue team is incredibly difficult to see on my projector in h2a.

? Everyone here is negative, its important that someone to highlight positivity for 343. All the guys who were doing it before mysteriously disappeared.

This game is part of a multi-billion dollar franchise for a multi-trillion dollar corporation, where one of the most key features doesn't work and most press aren't covering. We owe nobody nothing. They owe us a working game.

The collection should have not released in this state, I'm not going to cheer anyone on if they try to sell a game with this many problems in it.

Before release I was really excited to again play Halo 2 and all the other halo games in 60fps and online, I still look forward to a dedicated combat evolved playlist, however there are checkpoint save bugs, matchmaking problems, broken menu systems, online co-op desyncs in halo 2 (the main game of this collection) game crashes and failure to loads, the fact that you have to leave the game to watch a video on the halo channel only to return to a broken pause system, crashed game or title update which kicks you out before saving your progress.

And much much more.

This package was not ready for november but no one cared, it was sold.

Just bs'ing differently.

I was finding games for myself. Seemed to work fine and was fairly fast less than 5 minutes.

When I had 2 or 3 people total in the party it seemed to be less effective. Still got some games, but got a lot more of Session Connecting and then failures though.

Once I had 4, it just didn't seem to connect to much at all even in big team.

Being pedantic here, but MS is certainly not a multi-trillion dollar company. Their entire market cap is around 300 billion dollars =P

Almost the same problem here, just had 5 people in my party (which took forever to work)
but when it does work, man is it fun!
