Am I the only one who has a nagging feeling that MCC will never be completely fixed? I'm sure they'll sort out all of the matchmaking stuff but it seems like there are just too many bugs out there to get a handle on them all without fundamentally impacting their resourcing for future projects.

I feel the same way. When it's taking this long just for shit like even teams, then forget about actually improving the game beyond what it was supposed to be. Sucks how you can't see how your color choices look on your armor, huh? Well for-fucking-get anybody getting around to that.

I can't believe people are voting for Halo 4. Please stop.
1. Go to the dashboard.
2. Force quit Halo: MCC
3. Reboot and start search again, best to also make yourself a new sandwich in the mean time.
4. If Halo 4 is selected go back to step 1 otherwise continue to step 5.
5. Play an actual Halo MP match.

Problem fixed, there's no way in hell that I'm going to play Halo 4 MP again.

I played one Halo 4 match and I don't know if this mode was supposed to be but nobody had kill streaks, perks, armor abilities, etc. I didn't hate it.

Honestly if Halo 4 just took all that stuff out it would be an ok Halo game. Still the weakest by far but not horrible. (or maybe Reach is still the weakest, idk I flip flop)

Its really unfortunate that the Turbo update isn't live in Halo 4 on MCC. Slower movement speed and weaker BR makes it not as fun. I thought that was a title update, but maybe it had something to do with the maps/playlist settings.

Granted I didn't play much of H2 on XBL, but were the spawns on Lockout always that bad?

Numerous times I've spawned literally right in front of the enemy team with no escape in sight.

So last night I had something happen that not only hadn't happened before, but was beyond the scope of what I thought possible.

Trying to run some customs, after 4-5 smooth matches the party breaks up. nbd, right? I was the host, so I made a new custom game lobby. After 2-3 people rejoined, I got the dreaded "connecting to game" message, so I hard quit MCC. Rebooted it, and before I could even push the "menu" button, I was thrown into a matchmaking lobby with 13 or so people. That's right, I completely fresh booted the game and the moment the title screen came up I was immediately in a large MM lobby. I immediately hard quit again, rebooted again, and the exact same thing happened once more. After another reboot, it stopped, but the only thing I can infer from this is that some of the issues the game has seems to be tied with how and when you are connected to lobbies and disconnected from them- or not, in this case.

Anyone else seen this?

So I caved and bought it from the store and it installs H4 first of all the campaigns it could have installed lol.

Needless to say, H4 holds up pretty well at 1080p.

Halo 4 was great, don't understand the hate.
As far as multiplayer is concerned: Ordinance Drops & Custom Loadouts shouldn't have happened. The maps were pretty to look at, but there were few I actually enjoyed playing on. I detest Adrift and Abadon, which pop up often, and others have a tendency to prefer when it comes time to vote.

I didn't have much of a problem with the Campaign, though. There was nothing particularly new or groundbreaking from gameplay standpoint, but for the story... I appreciate the direction 343i's taking it in.

Halo won't ever be as big as it was during h2 and h3, there are just too many other popular games.

Admittedly halo 4 was pretty weak on launch, it was much improved later, but not enough to bring back a huge population.

There were still plenty of people playing throughout the games life to have no issues getting matches for multiplayer, which is more than can be said about a lot of games.

I think it was more to a very vocal minority of fans who can't even agree on which of the prior games was the strongest in the series.

Yea, I can agree with this reason as well.

How is it misleading?
Also I completely forget at times that Halo 4 even exists. It really had no impact on me.

Black Ops 2 came out the week following Halo 4, but I wouldn't say it's misleading, it still shows how the population dropped off.

The Call of Duty effect?

Players migrate to what is most popular akin to the League of Legends/Dota 2 effect.

CoD has 3-4 games in the top 20 any month that goes by. Halo cannot fight back against that tidal wave of a player base and their friends. It also is in line with the general decline of interest in science fiction games.

Also, the people that like Halo are the ones who are still playing Halo even if they have issues with it. So that 30k at the tail there is the hardcore fans who play daily. So yeah, minority. The majority plays what the majority owns and is into.

This anecdotal of course but I feel that many casual Halo fans were really turned off by the changes in Halo 4. I had 3 friends who were way into Halo 2 and 3 but were immediately turned off by the perks and killstreaks. They were big CoD guys at that time too!

Long story short: I was the only person in my group of friends who bought Halo 4 and I traded it in a month later.

343 trying to appease to the "CoD crowd" didn't work because people already had CoD and people who liked Halo didn't like the changes. It ends up pleasing no one.

FPS/TPS market was saturated by H4's release and COD had long taken over as the FPS King by then. Could also factor in a new generation in the next 12 months as well.

So your friends didn't even buy or play Halo 4 yet they have an opinion about it?

That big drop off in the chart lines up perfectly with the release of CoD Black Ops 2 as well.

They were turned off by the changes so yes they didn't buy it. I never said they formed an opinion on it. They obviously never got to that point.

The lag in coop is normal, that's just how the networking model in coop works.

Plenty of people said you needed to read the books to fully understand it.

Didn't bother me, the presentation and pacing made it the best campaign since CE.

So.... Is this a good thing, or what? What is the value of this collection if shitty features and quirks from 10 years ago are ported 1-for-1? Why not fix the co-op lag?

If you have a host with a really good upload/ping then the lag is non-existent. I haven't seen any in CE or Halo 2 so far in COOP.

So old Halos:

1) Are designed to not save checkpoints in co-op (even though checkpoints are saved solo).

2) Have extensive lag in co-op unless the Host has high upload speeds

And both of these qualities have been ported 1-for-1 into Master Chief Collection, by design. The game will behave that way, but not because of a bug - it will behave that way by design.

Even if there were zero matchmaking and campaign bugs, those details would make me never want to buy MCC.

Neither do I.

Me, neither. It still felt like Halo to me, and though the loadouts and drops weren't exactly a great idea, anything is better than the spray and pray assault rifle starts that seemed to dominate Halo Reach (along with Reach having, by far, the weakest maps in the series).

Why when people find a game they quit out. It actually makes 0 sense, it's hard enough to find a game as it is.

90% of games are uneven teams.
