Its amazing to think that the whole reason they just rushed this thing out was to capitalize on the holidays but the WOM is probably going to tank any chance of it having any real impact and ironically will likely severely affect public perception of H5.

they still have a month to really get it working. This is garbage now, but they'll take a huge hit if it's still broken through Christmas with this being their holiday centerpiece. Plus with Halo 5 beta soon and the game releasing next holiday, I wonder how long they'll have to fiddle with this until they have to be all hands on the next game.

I agree. They need to get their product in shape or at least to a reasonable point before they can think about gaining some goodwill back.

I wish they would apologize for the problems through Halo Reach or ODST being added through DLC for free, a man can dream...
My experience since the update has not been so bad actually. I actually manage to get into team slayer games in less than five minutes.
However, I will consider this game fixed as soon as I will be able to get into a BTB game. Along with all the bugs and crashes, this is the thing that is bothering me most

Considering I can get into a game of Destiny in what feels like under a minute, that's not saying much.
Suffice it to say... I, with a heavy heart, went back to Destiny. :C
It is amazing, embarrassing, and disappointing as a Halo fan, that's for sure.
Which is too bad because Halo 5 actually looks damn good.
The only reason I haven't requested a refund is because I want to play the Halo 5 beta in December.
A free copy of Sonic Boom will be given to everyone.
Seriously though, I'm not even sure what compensation they could give. I wonder what Bungie thinks of all of this.

I really dont care for any compensation at all. I just want Halo MCC to be working 100% as it should! This collection has potential to be one of the best things to happen this entire year, if fixed. I dont want "free stuff", I just want the Halo MCC that I expected and paid for.
I know for a fact that the local EBGames has been warning people before buying that matchmaking largely doesn't work. Why would anyone even want to buy the game again after hearing that? Plus it's been two weeks, the casual crowd or newcomers to the series are gone. They won't return. At best now is hoping the problems are fixed in time for the holiday crowd and/or having the game be packed in bundles so the population can stay a bit large.
343i's job right now is to fix the MCC to get as perfectly functional as possible as soon as they can.
I think it should be Microsoft's discretion as to how/when/what sort of compensation should be offered for those who had to suffer through MCC's launch problems.

Probably something along the lines of "haha, suckers."
Since the patch I've been able to find games quickly, but then when it tries to connect me to the session it sits there for about 5 minutes before saying "Unable to Connect: Session Already Full."

Managed to get into a handful of Team Slayer matches yesterday... But not without constant restarting of the console (after pretty much every match).
Not only that, but when I actually did manage to get a match, my split screen partner and I were almost ALWAYS split onto different teams. What the fuck? This is completely unacceptable.

I'm actually not having issues getting into games, however I am having issues getting into quality games. I haven't had an even match for a while. In other news I managed to get ranked at 24th on the leaderboards for speedrunning the Library on Legendary on Saturday night. I have surely gone down since then, but it was actually pretty frustrating getting a good run. I had a decent run but I nade jumped through the final door with a bad timing and got a checkpoint as everything spawned around me.

Yep. Got Sunset Overdrive and 2 achievements I'm grinding away at in Titanfall. Just bought Ground Zeroes on PS4 too. At least I have all that, plus the Halo campaigns to tide me over till this fucking shit is hopefully one day fixed.

The way this game has been handed has not only killed my hype for Halo 5 it's also made me seriously reconsider my desire to ever buy any more games for my Xbox One.

I wouldn't say that the game works great if that's the case. Finding a match in minutes should be considered mediocre by today's standards with the game population that Halo has.

Very well said. I am not asking for anything to be given to me or to be compensated for my time wasted trying to find on-line games. I just want what I paid for and that is a functioning game that works like other games. The fact that this is HALO makes it all more important. There are very few franchises that I have played every single game in that franchise from start to finish, including spin-offs. So to me, the HALO name and what it represents is important and for it to be tainted due to these issues is frustrating.
I am enjoying playing through the SP portion, but even those have some issues. Although MP gets the headlines, there are other things broken as well and those need to be addressed as well. Getting a refund to me has never even entered my mind nor has wanting any form of compensation. If they offer something that would be great and I would see that as a gesture of good will to the gamers.
For me, I just want to hear from Phil Spencer, as the head of Xbox he needs to speak up about these issues and address the gamers that are all dealing with this screw up.

Mainly Microsoft but to be honest the whole experience has tarnished my appreciation for the Xbox platform.
I'm sure I'll calm down eventually but for now I'd rather not give the Xbox division anymore of my money.
