I'm feelin this too. Aside from them fucking consumers by selling us an unfinished game I have had to do hard resets everyday on my xb1. Add that with constant errors when loading up games and it's frustrating. When the console works it's really fluid (Kinect hater that likes the voice commands) but holy hell. A lot of people just jumped in to Xbox one and will be met with some issues. Hopefully the console lock ups aren't widespread, it drives me nuts tho
At least I have COD to keep me busy as it runs pretty damn amazing on xb1

If I can literally find a match and start loading a map for Call of Duty on Xbox One in less than a minute, it shouldn't take several minutes to just find a match for Halo. Sure, the population for COD is bigger, but I can't help but compare COD's matchmaking system to Halo's.
Edit: Bottom line is Halo's matchmaking takes too long. Aside from waiting to even find players, it takes too long to load a map. Battlefield 4 loads it's multiplayer maps a hell of a lot faster.

Yeah. I mean, this collection was a dream come true for almost all of us. Then they went the extra mile to include other stuff like the Blur cutscenes, H2A Multiplayer maps, cross playlists, singular UI, rank, etc.
I just want it to work as intended. It's a real shame that this has happened for all of us. Especially for my favorite game series.
P.S. My achievement still hasn't unlocked.

But I absolutely understand why some people want their money back and to move on to other games, there's some quality games out there right now and it feels like I'm financially rewarding studios who shipped a game knowing it didn't work properly.

That's the odd thing. It kind of has been fixing stuff....for some people. I've witnessed a drastic improvement in the speed and stability of matchmaking, while a lot of people have also seen a downgrade, or no difference whatsoever. I wonder what's been causing such an inconsistency in performance.

Don't go by standard business hours. Their last two updates were at like 10:00 PM and 1:00 AM respectively.
Gamers need to stop rewarding publishers for broken unfinished games. Only message that gets through but too many need their fix no matter the quality but hopefully a few recent events are a wake up call. There is an excuse for many of the clueless masses but we should know better and see the signs, spread the word and avoid day one purchases if games are looking suspect.

I'm torn on whether this is just an unfortunate incident and 343i weren't aware of these massive issues or if the game was simply rushed out. No way to know really.
If they could somehow turn the searching screen into Geometry Wars or Tetris while it searches for matches, it would really ease the pain. Obviously not going to happen though

The problem here is, the game wasn't looking suspect at all. Halo's had a pretty good history of coming out, and the online working near flawlessly. 343's previous game in the series, Halo 4 worked great from day one, no major hiccups or delays with the online matchmaking, so we assumed that this game would also be up to the same standards. There was no way of knowing it'd be this borked.

it works, sometimes when i'm in dashboard while playing forza h2 the thing popped up and said my match was ready and it was.

A feature doesn't work in MCC, what a shock!
I really couldn't get myself back into playing destiny, partly because my experience with destiny's multiplayer has been way worse than halo mcc. Costantly getting kicked to orbit in the middle of a game is not nice at all.
For what it's worth, 343 is trying address some if not most of the issues this game. Bungie, instead, has not done anything to fix their game which, for me and a lot of other users, it's still riddled with connection errors
It might? I haven't been on the dashboard while in matchmaking so I can't say. If I had to guess it probably does work, I've just been busy playing Limbo and trying to get the Diamond crossbow in Cod AW. Also working on the Halo 4 campaign.

Part of the pain is that when it works this is such a great package. I played for two hours nonstop today on team slayer then took a break to ru n some errands, came back and I can't connect.
It is probably on a developer by developer basis, not something enabled by default for every Xbox game.
I would say that there's enough glitches surrounding every facet of the game that makes the answer pretty clear.
I'm sure they were hoping it wasn't this broken, but it's just impossible to miss this much stuff.

Im pretty certain this parts of this feature breaks Xbox Live and is part of Halo's Matchmaking issues.
And Im entirely glad its mostly gone. having the " YOUR GAME IS READY! - BATTLEFIELD 4" notification sit on your screen for 60 seconds was incredibly annoying. The system was flawed, because the notification would pop up if the party leader in the party chat found a match. If you weren't playing with your friend and were on an entirely different game? Fuck you deal with it.
Not only was that annoying, but in Battlefield 4 when Xbox One launched in the starting months, whenever the party leader found a match in his game, a screen would pop up in your match asking if you wanted to join his game. You could be flying a jet, in the middle of a battle, and this message would pop up, and if you clicked the "A" button once, you would join your friend. It was such a ridiculous and flawed system.
To tie this in with Halo, and I've mentioned this before, is when you get kicked out of a lobby with your friends, the "smart match" system in a party chat, acts like you and your friend are still in the same game together, because Halo separated you too automatically. When this happens, you naturally try to join your friend back, and most of the time, it doesn't work, because like I said, it acts like you are in the lobby together. You wont be able to connect back to your friend, unless you quit the game, or go into the party and click "Leave Multiplayer". A lot of games on X1 MM have had such annoying issues similar to this, I can't but think its the shitty aftermath of what was once "Smart Match".
Sunset overdrive uses this. Play single player while in a party with a friend who is searching for a match.

Well if they are recording us then I think we should be able to record them. Then if it goes to shit post it online? I don't know because there is no proof that it is a real call and not something you and a friend staged.

I do wonder what the population will be like in this game when it is finally working, I mean I can't imagine the mass audience the bought this game are willing to wait out the broken "launch window". Even when matchmaking gets fixed I'm afraid matchmaking times will be long simply due to a low number of players :/

Well, after completing Halo: CE I moved onto Halo 2: Anniversary. The graphics are gorgeous! Yet, I finally down Tartarus after a grueling 30-45 minutes of deaths to stupid stuff. Much to my chagrin, I get the achievement for completing a Halo 2 playlist (I've been doing the Legendary Playlists for each game). Yet no achievements have popped for beating the game on Legendary, or any other difficulty, for that matter. I've not even received the achievement for beating The Great Journey level. Yet, there I was, looking at Tartarus' fallen corpse.
What. In. The. Fuck.
The achievements don't even say "Done... Unlocking!"
I can't believe the state this game is in. I am just flabbergasted. I don't even want to get into Halo 3. What glitches will I encounter in that game? What achievements will I be robbed of there?
