Halo The Master Chief Collection |OT| Halo Never Died, It Was Just Missing In Action

It takes me about 1-2 minutes to find a game, so nothing god awful. What annoys me the most though is that after every single game, I lose connection to host and have to rejoin my friend.

I am going to break my modem if I can't get this NAT from Strict.

Got it!

I have been able to join matches since the game came out but today I got on for the first time since the 11/26 patch came out. I was not prompted to download anything when I restarted the game and now I cant get a single match of multi no matter how long I wait. Anyone have any ideas to help?

Pretty sure it's a bug that was in the original Halo 3 too.

It is, but the difference is that instead of that "mirror void" being a transparency that keeps overlaying frames from your first-person view, it somehow streams your splitscreener's perspective onto yours.

What pisses me off the most is that I honestly got this game to co-op Legendary with a buddy of mine, and even that disconnects ALL the damn time. It wouldn't be so bad if the Xbox One dashboard didn't make me want to bash my face in . . .

But anywho! I'm going to try and stay positive. I thought maybe opening my NAT would help? I had moderate NAT. Then I opened a bunch of ports, and went from Moderate to Strict. What?! lol. And my modem has no DMZ option, which would make this way easier.

You may have forwarded/opened the ports to the wrong internal IP address. Check out http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=931438 for a discussion on the XBox One and NAT.

The ideal situation for NAT on xbox one is that you don't forward anything manually, enable UPnP on your router and set the xbox to a DHCP static IP using your router admin to assign the same IP to the xbox's MAC address. That should give you an open nat which you can confirm by following the instructions at that link to do a full network test and NAT re-check using the LT + RT + LB + RB trick described in that link.

Yeah I encountered this in the original Halo 3. Master Chief Collection can be blamed for a lot of bugs, but this isn't one of them.

I had some good matches tonight but then the game crashed a couple of times. I got through another level of Halo 2 Anniversary Legendary without incident too, but I still don't trust mid level saves. I'm not making sure I've got enough time to finish a complete mission, which on Legendary can take about 2 hours for me.

So i got the achievement for unlocking terminal 8 in Halo 2 anniversary but I can't view it in the halo channel or when i unlocked it originally. This game is so fucked, and if you ask me it's really messed up we have to watch the terminals in this shitty app called the "Halo Channel"

Excuse my anger but trying to navigate the Xbox dashboard put me in a bad mood.

is matchmaking playable yet?

I've managed to find a few games in the handful of times I tried but I did quit the game each time I attempted it and didn't play multiple games in a row.

I dislike that in Halo 1 you can only see/interact with terminals when you are in the updated visuals mode. Don't know if Halo 2 has the same issue but the updated visuals are much closer to the original so I wouldn't mind so much there.

Yeah, enabling UPnP and using a static ip address is exactly what stopped my NAT issues, has been open ever since.

Played the game yesterday after not playing since last Saturday and this patch did nothing for me just like the last one. Resumed my CE Heroic campaign only to have to start the level over again but whatever, it could be worse. Like the multiplayer.

I tried for about 2 and a half hours last night and got 5 total games in whenever it decided to work.I got matched with multiple lobbies that would just disappear, come back, and disappear again. I got two game overs before the map loaded up, and saw 'Matchmaking Failed' more time trying for 1 damn BTB game than I have the last three weeks.

When I finally let me play, 2 of my games were uneven teams (5v4 and 4v3) in with me being on the bottom team with one being dominated by the other team who clearly knew Halo 2 better than my team and the other being 2 Flag on Midship where my two teammates decide to quit right at the start, leaving me all alone against a group of assholes that took advantage of that fact by shooting my dead body while camping my spawn. The other three games sucked too but they worked just fine but it is just not worth it anymore. I can't do it and it makes me so sad that I feel this way when I'm enjoying the campaign portion so much. Half the reason I bought this game is a failure and it hurts as a Halo fan but I'm keeping my copy because I know I'd just buy it again when it's finally all there.

I can say for sure that unless Halo 5's beta or whatever they show at E3 blows my socks off, I'm not giving 343 $60 anymore day one. Did it twice now and have been disappointed both times.

It's playable, much better than at launch. I've gotten games within 30 seconds. However, the biggest issue for me are the teams. They are almost always uneven, plus people love to quit mid game too.

What he really meant to say, yeah it's playable, but there also other things you could do with that time while matchmaking is still half broken.

Got like 2 games can't even get in anymore, when I do the teams are uneven.

Please no more Gungoose CTF...

Every time it comes up, it wins the votes. It's by far my least favorite game mode, first couple of times it's pretty fun, but after a while it's just ugh.

I've yet to even see it pop up as an option. What playlist is it in? I've spent the majority of my time in H2A.

Were you double zoomed in? It does this more than it should on the first magnification. It did this in the original too.

I've been playing a ton the past few days and I've ultimately ended up falling back on the H2A rumble playlist because of exactly this. Matchmaking seems the quickest of all playlists and uneven teams and quitters don't ruin the game.

A rumble pit playlist using all 4 games would be really nice right now.

i've also noticed the halo 2 classic sniper issue

it's pretty bad at times

What's the issue exactly? I've noticed it being inconsistent for sure. I was getting confused because shots would miss as if I would have had to lead my shot but I know the H2 sniper is hit scan.

Yeah I was playing Halo 2 on XBC a few months before the MCC and having no problems with headshots now I'm missing left and right.

Okay, then it wasn't some crazy lag I was experiencing. I was in a game about a week ago and had a guy lined up, fired two right at his head and didn't hit anything. Switched to BR and registered hits right away.

I've had issues with the classic BR not registering shots and just flaring shields like in Halo 1 and have had to lead my reticule a bit. Must be something from the Halo 2 Vista netcode, because I've never seen that happen on XBC/Kai/Live. What a mess.

Just discovered a new bug, if somebody exits at the 'Creating Teams' stage (where the back button still works) then the other players get stuck at Creating Teams stage forever.

cannot wait for this game to be fixed!

Seriously, I want to play so much, but the uneven teams annoys the heck out of me.

Because people then quit so you're usually down to 2 vs 5 :\

Yep I'm done, 3 weeks of this bullshit and I still cant get into games, and in the rare chance that I do there are extreme networking issues.

I tried so hard to give these guys a fair chance to correct themselves but they have just completely and utterly failed. Campaign content is fantastic, didnt have many issues at all, but the MP is an absolute disgrace. I remember a week ago getting into my first h2a match, was SO excited to finally be in a match then not 5 seconds into the game I rubberbanded back 5 feet...this continues the entire length of the game. I can kind of regularly find h2a matches but they ALWAYS end up being unplayable. I suspect it has something to do with H2a's absurd upload spikes.

I feel pretty bad for the artists and talent at 343 and the other countless studios involved, there is a lot of love in this "project" and theres a lot to admire...but its greatest failure is in its own ambition. Put such a bad taste in my mouth that I dont think I'm even going to show up for the halo 5 beta, if they cant fix 10 year old games how in the FUCK are they going to deliver a stable modern game?

I understand that and I share some of these thoughts but for sure it’s more easy to do a new game on a fresh engine with the last pieces of technologies than fix and put together 4(5) (some very old) games together with new graphics options etc. so I have no worries than Halo 5 will be stable and good and the beta will be here for that too, Halo 4 never got such issues as example.

It is sad for MCC to reach this point even me hardcore fan since CE I must admit I feel far from Halo because of what happened this time it’s too much to handle I bought an Xbox One for this game and I am playing other games because Halo does not work (I got even bugs in campaign :/), it was really better to not respect the anniversary date and delay it to January or more, ok It would have been sad for MS to miss Christmas for sure but at this point a broken game is far worse in my opinion and the Halo IP suffered enough recently it did not need that.

I hope they will be able to fix it before Christmas but honestly I have doubt seems complicated to resolve (343i are experts if it’s not fixed yet mean that is really hard to fix) anyway if they succeed I guess 343/MS can offer to the fans a new anniversary map.

Also the other thing that bother me a lot I never felt the dedicated servers yet in a game, it’s mostly always full of lags for me… I really hope it’s related to the problems of MM and so for now they are off because if not… I will consider not buying Halo 5 :/

The problem with this is that lots of the bugs seem to be in the UI which is new and the initial matchmaking logic, once your in the game (and the original game engines are fired up) then things aren't that bad.

I have no more will to play this game. I have been playing through the Campaigns solo on Legendary. Crashes, achievements bugged, and quirky events in the game have left me exhausted and unable to continue any longer.

The straw that has broken the camel's back is a massive issue with Halo 4. Playing the campaign solo will often treat beating levels as playing co-op. This makes the Lone Wolf Legendary achievement impossible to get without having to come up with community-made workarounds.

I have been doing the Legendary playlists for each game, so if I encounter this bug in Halo 4 (and I have had for two of the four levels I have beaten) I then have to go back into Campaign mode, turn on scoring, set the difficulty to Legendary, and play the level again.

It has sucked out the enjoyment of this game for me. Multiplayer has been rarely successful for me, as well, so I have been completely ignoring it. I know the horse has been beaten so hard it is hardly a horse any more, but I just cannot understand why we were given a Halo game in this state. As a HUGE Halo fan, with thousands of dollars of Halo collectibles and merchandise in my home, I just feel like the brand has been tarnished. First impressions are lasting and The Master Chief Collection will be hard pressed to overcome the negative one it carries.

Yeah, I think it's fair to say The Master Chief Collection - which was supposed to celebrate the brand and bring it to a new generation (quite literally too - youthful players) has tarnished the brand badly. I played for several hours before work today, and every single match has serious (basically unplayable) rubber banding issues for some reason. Everybody in chat was raging, and most of them sounded like kids. Most games ended up with majority of players quitting. It's not the best introduction to MS's biggest franchise.
