Game hung on the loading screen after one multiplayer match. Had to reboot my X1 and am trying to get into another multiplayer match, and failing to do so. This is REALLY shitty.

I expected better from Microsoft.

Even though I am disappointed to hear about the framerate issues, I am looking forward to playing through the campaigns in 1080p. I normally play through the campaigns solo on Legendary once very year or two, and I am definitely overdue. However, there are a number of areas throughout the game that I am not looking forward to, as they can be pretty grueling on Legendary. They are, off the top of my head, and in order:

Halo: CE
  • Defending the first downed Pelican in Halo.
  • Fighting the Hunters before boarding Truth and Reconciliation in Truth and Reconciliation.
  • The first room after boarding Truth in Truth and Reconciliation.
  • The first large-scale battle in Assault on the Control room, before getting the scorpion tank.
  • The run up to Keyes and then the room Keyes is in, on the level Keyes.

Halo 2
  • The docking bay in Cairo Station.
  • Any time there is a Jackal sniper in Outskirts.
  • The preceding the scarab in Metropolis.
  • Pretty much the whole level Regret.
  • The first area of Gravemind.
  • The whole banshee part of The Great Journey.
  • Tartarus.

Halo 3
Now I don't remember too much of Halo 3's Legendary campaign being as frustrating as the previous two games. Just a few parts really stick out in my mind as being rough.
  • The final area of Sierra 117, before being exfiltrated.
  • Any time there's Drones in Crow's Nest.
  • The open area before getting on the final bit of highway to the cannon in Tsavo Highway.
  • The final push on the anti-aircraft cannon in Tsavo Highway.
  • Dealing with the stalker forms of the flood in Cortana.
  • The first big area near the beginning of Halo.

Halo 4
  • I don't remember the exact order of it, but it's a big area in Requiem with three buildings and lots of Prometheans and Covenant. I believe you can get a ghost.
  • The big area in Infinity before meeting with Palmer.
  • All of Reclaimer. Seriously, this level was brutal.
  • There's a big open area in Composer that features a lot of Prometheans. And you can fall to your death.
  • Any time you have to fight the constant waves of Promethan crawlers and the final area of Midnight.

I had some issues on the first multilevel room on pillar of autumn. Partly my fault for going through it with 1 health bar, but it can be pretty brutal. Total of 8 elites and 6 grunts I believe.

I'll just say,I was rusty before that room, once I got through it, I don't feel rusty anymore.

Anyone playing customs or wants to start a lobby? I don't have a mic right now but will get one later tonight. Shoot me a message/FR to play now or later tonight.

GT: Lpwnsome

Hey everybody. I am setting up some customs tonight. It would best if you are located in North America and have a microphone (not required). I'm looking for 7 people, two teams of 4. I plan to have us play TDM and CTF in CE, 2, and 2 Anniversary. Should last an hour or two.

aw damn, I'm not off work until 6:30 :(

The judder. Dumbfounded here really.

Halo CE judder is unforgivable... framerate is perfect with classic graphics but just awful with anniversary graphics. It's so bad it they should have just left it at 30 fps or at least give the option. When you get in the warthog it's not even fun to drive because it's such a juddery mess.

I really hate how they went on and on about everything being 60fps when the framerate is so bad. And the framerates during cutscenes are atrocious. Just a shit show and really embarrassing.

For something that's supposed to be a celebration I can't believe they think this is acceptable. What an utter disappointment.

Why the hell were review scores so high if this game is a technical shit show?

It's bad enough I suck ass at the multiplayer, but is it normal to get kicked back to the main menu after one match?
This is garbage, I regret purchasing this day one.

All these years of Call of Duty and Battlefield have completely diminished my ability to be good at Halo. This is gonna be a long road. :(

Dl speed just went from 6.6MB/s to 250 Kb/s

Guess I wont be playing this tonight.

That is why I bought the disc lastnight and started the install/patch. Once it began I just turned the TV and surround sound off. It was ready when I woke up this morning. I played a Halo 2 SP Cairo Station and then Halo 2 MP on Zanzibar before taking a shower and heading out to work.

Out of curiosity: those who have played Halo 4 in this, how is the sound mixing?

Halo 4 on 360 had terrible sound issues, ranging from wall of noise levels issues to music and effects being horribly compressed and washed out. Has that been fixed?

I'm not bothering with the multiplayer yet just working through the campaigns. These games feel so much better at 60fps with the Xbox One controller and it's so easy to forget got perfectly tuned the gunplay is.

The new lighting in Halo 2 is absolutely stunning.

Honestly, save yourself the hassle of launch day multiplayer woes and just work your way through these campaigns. They're like new games.

We're going to need ports of Reach and ODST as it will be difficult to go back to 30fps Halo after this.

Some suggestions: You basically skip all the Jackal snipers with a crouchjump and a grenade jump right at the beginning of Outskirts (I think there's basically two left in the observation towers later on you can boost past with some care in a Ghost.)

For Keyes, triggering the SpecOps Elites to come in and then getting the hell out of dodge by running to the back of the room usually works for me; the Flood generally kill off the Covenant and I can clean them up later. You can jump down and get to the Banshees at the end as well to skip some battles.

Same.

I used to play with bumper jumper, but I wanted to use default at first just to get the hang of things again. I found myself pressing B to reload and RB to melee constantly, so I switched it. Better, but still a long way to go.

I only bought it on a whim a lunch time, asked the wife to put the xbox on and assumed it would be done by the time i got home. Sadly it had only downloaded 20 ish GB , I plugged the Xbox into my router via ethernet to speed up the download and it was fine until just after 5. The speed is now fluctuating between 2-500 Kb/s down from 6.6MB/s which is pretty much my connection maxed.

Note to publishers - have open beta's. Destiny may have been a shit game (imo) but it ran great on launch day because there was extensive network testing months before the game was released.

Anyone having trouble joining customs and parties too? I can't even join a friends game or accept invites...keeps bugging out :(

Same here. Roster is all messed up. I tried going through the friends list on the dash and when I try to join a game it seems like it's working because it switches back to MCC but then nothing happens.

I got into a HALO CE match on Team Slayer.. The amount of LAG I encountered was absurd, almost as bad as it was on the PC.

There's no way that the dedicated servers are working.

yeah, we were expecting really bad lag considering they pulled the CE playlist

Only had one CE game and there wasn't too much lag.

Halo 2 Classic on the other hand I was literally warping everywhere.

So far Halo 3's online has ran the smoothest for me for now anyway.
