Well here goes nothing.

Kinda bought the collection on a whim tonight.

I never really played Halo... Like I've played a couple of hours of the first one when it came out... Maybe 10min of 2 and 3 and then nothing else.

Enjoying the first campaign so far.

Oh and I lasted a good 30sec before I gave up and switched to the more "modern" button mapping. I'm sure you guys have a lot of nostalgia for the original button mapping but man....

You know another simple little example of them not paying attention to shit. Doing metropolis in H2A. There is no trail behind canon blasts or you chain gun. Makes trying to aim at shit almost impossible because if you miss all you have is the explosion to tell you if you hit it.

Sigh. And I can't unpause now. Son of a bitch.

I made a comment about this earlier. Glad I'm no the only one that noticed that. How in the world do you forget to add that?

The multiplayer was screwed, but they released that later so reviewers didn't get a chance to play it until later. I don't remember any major crashing issues though, the SP seemed fine.

It's upscaled and it does.

1 to 1 pixel mapping is far superior to upscaled content. So if anything it looks worse.

I understand your TV is 4k but there is no way it looks better than a good quality set with 1 to 1 pixel mapping.

Can confirm that Halo 2 Classic is working well for me online. Yes MM times are a bit long but I got into a 4v4 match with no weird team switching/extra shit.

Very annoying that MM kicks you out of the searching function and back to the main menu after a game... where is the post-game lobby?

It doesn't. Upscaling will make things at best, look as good as on a good 1080p set. Usually though it'll look worse, though having 1080p fit exactly into 4k means it shouldn't be too hard to upscale reasonably.

I bought the game, but if it's really this bad, I might return it... Online is not a priority for me. How is 2 player local co-op?

Nope, I dont think it was because of the wording. Normally when you are making changes to where you are, it'll ask if you want to take your party with you. If you are a party leader and want to back out and change matchmaking lobbies it says that you are just straight up leaving. No option to bring the party.

Things like this, 1th, the 16 player 6v6, and all these other simple mistakes that should have been caught make me thing it's all a rush job or they just didn't care. I get having server and coding problems but this stuff is something else too.

It may be installing the 20gig patch also. I know the xbox will do that if you are online along with installing it off the disc.

Well it's good that you now have a good set then. If it looks better it's not because of 4k, but because your last set was probably not very good.

Started playing around 830. Got into 1 H2A game, 1 H2classic, and played 3 custom games with friends. The customs were flawless.

I think matchmaking is much better now. Second game I found within min. But it still throws me out once match is completed.

Can someone check and confirm if matchmaking is fine now? Seems to work for me. Could be coincidence?

Weird, after 4-5 games of Halo 2 classic my hit detection is fucked. Like 50% of my shots don't deal any damage, same with melee.

Edit: Around 22 seconds you can see that my shots land but his shields don't flare.

As someone who's basically 95% of the time going to play local Co-Op or local versus, is the game worth it?

While everyone is going on about multiplayer, I've been doing the single player campaign and Halo: CE has been running smooth and great for me. Even when driving the Warthog I didn't notice any jittering or tearing. The only jitter I noticed was the opening cutscene but I even remember that on the 360 version.

I got into a team slayer on high grounds game on Halo 3 and I legitimately almost got teary eyed. I didn't even know how much I truly missed the original games. Please, 343, don't fuck up Halo 5.
