Hold on, friend! I'd love to share with you some swell news about the Windows 8 Metro UI! Wait, where are you going?
Why not just touch the screen?

Most professionals I know use the macbook pro on a stand with a keyboard/mouse and second monitor. So uhhh, good try apple I guess?

Oft hope is born when all is forlorn.
again why can't we just use mouse to do all those things that Touch Bar does? lol

Touch ID seems cool. but other than that, that bar seems pointless to me.

It's still USB. You get that, right? If you can afford a $2000 MBP, you can afford a $5 cable.

Have to use an adapter just to plug a thumb drive or wireless mouse into my "Pro" laptop?

Quick-type on a physical keyboard? All the other features shown were pretty good, but quick-type? ON A KEYBOARD? That's so useless lol.

Not going to lie, this new touch thing is going to be ten times as functional as any function row of keys.

This is the only genuinely interesting part of this thing, and even then only because Apple's ecosystem is monitored as such they can guarantee utilization across a large variety of their apps.

No one is going to press on predictive word bubbles instead of typing. In what world is it faster? It also implies that I'm looking at the keyboard as I type. lmao

Using the touch bar to click typing suggestions? Editing photos or video?

You have a massive trackpad and keyboard right in front of you..

Its cool for touch ID, quick settings etc...

I'm not against the touchbar entirely, but it's is not going to improve most of the things they're showing. It's not going to be faster to take your hands off the keyboard, and reach up to hit a word suggestion, than to finish typing that word.

New Trackpad looks good.

The application specific features are a great idea, but ... I'm not sure how widely used they will be outside of Apple's specific apps. It's kind of like Siri built into the Mac. Having had Siri on both my Mac's since Mac OS update, I've never intentionally used it.

Later today there are going to be tons of articles proclaiming that the function keys are the most important thing on a computer, and their removal signals the downfall of Apple.
