Honestly, Surface Book isn't much better. If I want a viable video machine I'm looking at 1TB SSD and 16GB RAM max on a smaller screen there, with 2GB VRAM, for $3299.

Equivalent new MBP is $2999.

Looks like I'm just riding my 2013 MBP in perpetuity.
Detachable touch screen with amazing stylus and that's double the memory.

Macbook Pro 15 256GB 2016 is $400 more than last year's model, for the Touch Pad.

$400 is the price that Dell charges for the 4K Touch Screen add on for their XPS line up.

Apple is charging $400 more for their Touch Pad line strip.

You can share library over wireless since forever ago but yea I do agree it's pretty idiotic that they don't include some adapters. In any case I plug my phone into my computer on a nightly basis to sync library.

I manage all my podcasts from my iphone using Downcast. I can easily take a podcast, listen to it on my earphones, then tell my Echo to pair to my phone and listen to it on those speakers, I can then go to my desktop PC and hit a button to connect it to bluetooth and resume listening on my PC speakers....the one fucking place I cannot stream my podcasts from my iphone, is to my macbook. This the the first macbook I have ever owned, and it is exactly what I was looking for in a laptop, but I was dumbfounded when I googled how to pair an iphone to a macbook and discovered it is not supported at all.

Edit: not that it would work with Downcast library anyway, but using iTunes to play any form of media is the worst. I haven't used that program to do anything other than backup iphones in ages. It is borderline unusable.

I can't imagine working on Windows again, I really hope they'll do something about their Pro's in the future until my MBP has to be replaced..

I switched back to Windows after using a Mac for 8 years, I am pretty happy with Win10 if I am honest.. Really isn't as bad as its made out to be.

After watching this i'm loving my QHD XPS13 even more.

One thing that shocked me -never used a Mac user- most is that they killed THE BEST charging input design. #RIPMagsafe

I really need to upgrade my 2012 rMBP, but man…2800 is too much

May look into getting a 2015, are they much worse?

At least they have USB and HDMI ports SMH

At least Apple bump the Base Storage for the Macbook 13 Pro from 128GB to 256GB.

I wish Apple bump the base storage for Macbook 15 Pro. I'd be happy paying $2499 for a 512GB Base Storage.

I guess you wouldn't be able to do it in that scenario. I don't know why anyone would not just use the podcasts app and iTunes on your computer. It saves your position in that case.

$2799 for 512GB storage and 460 is REALLY hard to swallow. I use my MacBook Pro every day. I use my PC every day. I use my iPhone every day. All three of those I put a lot of money into.

Even with my current MBP being three years old I'm having a real lot of trouble pulling the trigger. Polaris 11 is really disappointing.

But on the flip side, Windows support of HiDPI is still absolute fucking garbage as I've found through Boot Camp.

My experience with Windows 10 has been amazing, it's really an incredibly looking OS not to mention one that is probably the most productive.

16GB cap is a dealbreaker. I've been waiting almost 6 years to replace my 17" 2011 MBP, which I have since upgraded to 16GB memory + 512GB SSD. Not going to replace it with a $2800 machine that can't be upgraded further.

Whats so bad about Windows? Asides from like the 3 apps OS X has that Windows doesn't, the OSes are virtually the same thing. (Only one can do touch)

don't mind the loss of the top keys but the touchbar seems exactly like I'd expect it to be, a semi-useless toy.

Sad seeing Apple continuously descend into making novelty lifestyle products and alienating pro users. Can't be long until they discontinue the Mac Pro and ruin the 27" iMac.

I used Macs from 1999-2011. Only reason I stopped in 2011 was because the dollar to value proposition no longer made any sense. Looks like they doubled down on that today. Thankfully, Microsoft has been killing it the past couple years and some of the other Windows manufacturers are also putting out some solid products.

Some day it would be really nice to work on a Mac again, but their hardware has been so underwhelming ever since they changed their focus to iOS devices.

Soooo, is there going to be a lot more Surface users in the near future?

This pretty much cements Surface Book as my next computer. Touch Bar looks pretty limited/not that interesting to me.

Was there no iMac update today? MS had the best hardware in computing now across the board.

Surface Book comparisons are weird. A dual core 15W CPU isn't even on my radar. Especially for one that starts at $1500.

Yes I understand it's also a tablet and touchscreen. Don't care and don't need.

This so so true and so sad.

The 256GB baseline on the 15" is the most disappointing.

Plus it's only ~half a pound lighter than the current machine.

I think the high end 13" should have 16GB RAM and the low end 15" should have 512GB SSD.

Same here. The loosy support for High DPI is a major put off. Really don't want to go back.
