Some of these bigger enemies take a freaking beating. Damn. Like I'm not making a dentist unless I use
blast trip wires
. Maybe I'm missing something.


Also I'm gonna guess 89 to 92 metascore. If lower I'll be surprised. Game just reaks quality all around.

It's a hard life for us.

People think that everyone who's excited for a game would've watched every trailer and video out there. They're full of spoilers thus we don't watch them. Why is it so hard to understand?

I wasn't thinking. I forget this game doesn't give you superhuman landing powers sometimes, and I didn't remember it being so far down haha.

I wasn't even doing anything in particular in that video. I was just dicking around farming for some resources, and then at the end I wanted to explore the area near a new objective...and I was rudely greeted LOL

First, I meant that AC2 and WD2 were not as impactful as they could have been since they both ended up being what their respective first games should have been. Second, I was sticking to industry impact, and guess what, aside from UC2 none of those shaped the future of games in significant ways. Unless you care to elaborate, I must disagree.

I don't even know what's going on in here anymore.

There was the talk on different races, and then everything after that is a blank.

Good to hear about the lore. My understanding is that'll be the main hook of the side missions. How are rewards for doing side stuff? Are they usually worth it?

The fact they roam free could make for some really interesting encounters, cannot wait to get it now.

After all these impressions I'm actually quite optimistic. I think there are definitely improvements to be had, but I would not be surprised to see a 90+ from this game.

I think it will finished at 88 metacritic, hopefully on or above 90, that would be great for GG, specially because it's a new IP and something completely different to what the studio has done in the past

I'm mostly a lurker on here but these impressions are great. This game is my first Collectors edition I've ever purchased. I can't wait for it to get here. This game is the reason I bought a Ps4 Pro and a Ks8000 last year.

Maybe you should elaborate on what you mean by shaping the industry in significant ways because so far you've used some very small scale and very nit picky seemingly personal criticisms of these games and have said little of the industry at large.

Arguing MGS4 is the best Sony exclusive when MGS4 isn't even the best MGS game.
I'd argue MGS4 is the worst numbered MGS game, story included.

Good to hear that Guerrilla kept their penchant for coloring a fascinating universe over from Killzone. It certainly works much better for a wide open RPG than a plain Shooter.

Oh yes. You reminded me that this game does a fair amount of storytelling through audio logs like MGSV.

Personally I don't prefer this type of exposition. I'd rather watch cutscenes. And you can't control or rewind the audio logs like in MGSV.

But if they did a cutscene for every log of lore they have, it would be too expensive and totally break the pacing, so I understand.
