I enjoyed Batman v Superman more than Civil War, who is with me?

Are you with me?

So the incomprehensible quick cut shaky cam fight scenes were on purpose? I was supposed to have a migraine?

You may want to have your eyes or brain checked by a doctor if the film gives you migraine since it does nothing to others. Sounds unhealthy. The problem lies with you not the film.

I still can't believe that Snyder stopped the movie so that we could watch a character watch some QuickTime teasers.

In my screening, someone yelled out loud "is he seriously holding his breath?" at the Aquaman bit. It was hilarious.

well he is a drama queen in this movie.

honestly i found lex one of the more entertaining things about the movie. it was jarring how different he was from any lex i knew but eisenberg was having fun with it. could have done without that last scene of his. personally i think that scene specifically is where he crosses the line from good camp to awful shit.

That was too much true, otherwise I liked his performance, of course I have no idea what kind of character he is in the comic books. I just knew that he is the bad guy, was Lex in Man of Steel? That movie was very forgettable.

Congratulations OP, you are now a criminal ;p

Nah but Bats vs Supes was alright when I saw it opening night, the intro with batman rushing into the city was shot perfectly , I love scenes like that and the battle between both was pretty good. Movie was all over the place though , from flash forward sequences to dreams to etc , editing was a nightmare
Still don't like Jesse as Lex but he was ok and the last fight was pretty good

But comparing it to Civil War I'd give it to Civil War , Black Panther was just so cool fucking outrunning and going after Buck
Paul Rudd had a great cameo and comedy
Spidey surprised me the most since I thought he'd be a struggle but that's how I expect Spider-Man to be

I will say BvS (although slightly misused) had a WAAAAAAAY better soundtrack than Civil War.
I was surprised at how much I liked the BvS score, though I didn't lose my mind over the Wonder Woman theme like so many people here.

I read descriptions of that scene before I saw the movie and thought that everyone was just exaggerating but it's crazy that they were fine with the way it turned out.

If you get migraine from that, you may have serious medical issue. Especially when BvS had similar scene when Batman was fighting the goons guarding MARTHA.

I never said I had a migraine, but it's absolutely hard to follow. Also the difference is that in BvS the action is centered which helps immensely. Don't know why you're getting so defensive over this.

There's no gameplay or level design component to films. The plot is arguably the most important part of storytelling.
I dont even understand what your point is. Yeah, the plot is the most important part of storytelling in a film, so wouldn't it stand to reason that that's what you would use spoiler tags to cover up when discussing a brand new film? If you aren't going to use spoiler tags to cover up the parts of new media people wouldn't want spoiled I don't know what you would use them for at all.

Like, a thread like this is the exact reason spoiler tags exist. Its a place where people are comparing something brand new to something old.

In the end, both are just superhero blockbuster movies that we enjoy for a time, and then move on. What's the point in comparing the two?

Maybe the majority enjoyed Civil War more, will write about it on the Internet for a bit longer, but ultimately will just move on because the next big superhero blockbuster is about to come out.

Even the hate for BvS will subside quickly when the next bad superhero blockbuster comes out.

There's no point in this shit. And I hate myself for following this shit so closely. How low have I fallen man. I hate this place sometimes. I hate myself sometimes.

You know, I used to have a fucking social life. Now it's just NeoGAF and all this entertainment shit. Fuck.

Well, another poster did. Absolutely hard to follow sounds like a toss to me since other people clearly have no problem following the scene. BvS fight was centered didn't stop them from cutting unnecessarily either.

LOL, defensive? I wasn't the busybody who's butting in someone's argument with another poster, unless he was your alt account. I was pointing out how another poster's migraine from watching the film is not normal.

Personal insults, we've gotten there already? I seem to recall people had the same problem with Nolan's Batman films, especially Begins. But now I must have a brain tumor for having a problem with it in a holy Marvel movie?

It's fun little online war :) Some excitement to add the spice to general awesomeness of modern nerd cinema.

I haven't seen CW yet. Waiting for home release, as it doesn't look like something that really needs to be seen in cinema. But I enjoyed Winter Soldier and expect even better from CW. I just so rarely go to cinemas that I reserve it only for visual spectacles.

Could you please explain how these scenes are poor and this is good editing:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHBAgzcqki0

It has the exact same framing, the exact same cuts and editing, yet one causes migraine and the other is perfect flawless artistic cinema, apparently

Batman in centered
The camera is more stabilized
The cuts aren't nearly as frequent and fast

At what point did I say it gave me a migraine and the other is
perfect flawless artistic cinema?

I didn't say you have brain tumour. You said that yourself. I said there is something not normal if you get migraine from watching the film. Either it's a health issue or you are fibbing.

Man of Steel is one of my favourite comic movies ever. Batman v Superman was fucking shite, dude. It had a cool opening and some cool scenes towards the end, but my god was everything in between so damn boring and nonsensical.

Batfleck did great with what he had though.

lol 11% in the poll
Some of you are so biased, and couldn't even admit how bad the film is.

Enjoy your Rotten Tomatoes of 28% That's how bad your taste is.

dumbest post of the week.
everybody should quote this clown and shun him.

Says the guy who is so biased with DCEU.

Unlike you, I'm a big fan of both DC and Marvel comics/movies/animation.
What I'm not fan of are shitty movies, crappy writers/show runners/directors.

My girlfriend laughed at some of the costumes in Civil War. She couldn't take the emotional parts seriously.

She didn't laugh ever in BvS. She couldn't take the emotional parts seriously, either.

Make of that what you will.

BvS defense force is an entertaining read. It's like they are trying to bend reality. Reminds me of star wars prequels defense force.

BvS is a mess. Civil War is the better movie.

Goddamn, no holding back.

Take that, idiots! How dare you like this movie, something must be wrong with you as people. May God have mercy on your souls.

Your gf is emotionally detached, bailout dude!

man i don't even like this movie lol. tends to be the diehard mcu dorks who throw that accusation at me for some reason.

some of y'all are way too entrenched in your "if you're not with us then you're with them" mentality hahaha

this thread is ridiculous. so many people getting butthurt over stupid popcorn flicks.

the internet, the internet never changes

I liked BvS, but merely as an action spectacle to enjoy on the big screen and because of Batman.

Pacing, story-wise, the movie was a mess. The big fight touted in the title was so short and one-sided that it ended up being a net disappointment for me despite some cool moments. The Doomsday plot seemed completely pointless with how the movie ended. Eisenberg as Luthor lacked menace, a sense of conviction, never felt like an antagonist that posed any real threat

I'll be seeing Civil War later today to compare

Not caught up on MCU yet so I can't go see Civil War quite yet, but so far I have a hard time saying any of the MCU movies are better than BvS.

Best part of Lex was him intentionally deeply slashing his hand just so he could dramatically show Superman that he used his blood to make Doomsday.

So Nostalgia Critic was right.

Doomsday is basically Nuclear Man from Superman IV.

Oy vey.

I liked Civil War quite a bit even, but I enjoyed more the mess BvS was in trying to tackle its themes vs Marvel's new character showreel. Impecable suits though.
