I enjoyed Batman v Superman more than Civil War, who is with me?

Are you with me?

I was pretty much entertained during BvS because of the awesome raw action pieces. I think I got everything they were trying to do with it and respected what Snyder was trying to do. Key point being trying, because man, a lot of stuff could've been handled MUCH better.

I was completely entertained by CW, loved how you could root for both Cap's and Tony's point of view, how it was a culmination of most of the MCU films and the balls to the wall, diverse action. I love how it felt very personal for a lot of characters, and how that was shown in the final fight.

So I sort of liked BvS, but I loved CW. Shame, with a better director and editor BvS could have been something really special.

Civil War did a so much better job at setting up the conflict. In BvS I had the feeling the whole fight could have been prevented if Superman had just taken more time to explain himself to Batman.

Did you miss the alternate Civil War ending?

Cap: Hey your mom's name is the same as mine!
Ironman: Aw no way, brah. We cool now.

~The End~

Both villains were non-canon, but Civil War didn't have a fucking annoying frat child as a villain...

ding ding ding Ding Ding, Ding Ding DING DING!

What in the fucking shit was Snyder smoking when he made up that shit?

He was channeling Tarantino, who writes his scripts to music.

Unfortunatly, he was listening to "What does the fox say?"

Civil War is really just another Marvel superhero movie, in the end. BvS at least tried to take superhero movies in another direction, even if it didn't really succeed at that. I liked it much more than Man of Steel, though.

Civil War is just okay, it's safe.

How safe of Civil War to have a coherent narrative.

Civil War was top tier stuff. I'm not sure how you weren't surprised by some some things in the movie but somehow missed Wonder Woman and Doomsday in the preamble to BvS

Now that I think about it.
Is there a good Zack Snyder film?

And why compare to Civil War. Let the movie make a case for itself.

Yes! That's exactly what I was thinking after watching Civil War. The movie gave me a mild headache. BvS is a much better movie than Civil War. Better fight scenes, music, and Ben Affleck was just too good. The only redeeming thing about Civil War was Spider-Man. It's not a bad movie but I feel like it was all over the place.

Is that what it had? Oh because it had establishing shots with the name of the location plastered across the screen in size 695 font so nobody got confused about where the next scene took place?

To OP, you got balls of steel to open this topic lol. I loved BvS and haven't Civil War yet. Seeing as i loathed Winter Soldier even though most people seem to love it I hope thats not the case for Civil War. Then again it looks better than Winter Soldier.

Sorry, stroked out there for a second.

Gonna have to explain this one to me. Specifically how Civil War was more 'all over the place' than BvS.

I have no idea how anyone can argue this point. It's absolutely true and the movie itself supports it. Literally all Superman had to say was "
Hey, some brat kidnapped my mom Martha and is going to burn her alive if you don't help me save her.
"

Literally one sentence of basic information.

No because it was edited by someone who knew what the fuck they were doing.

My thoughts from last night:

That was better than BvS? Ok. Weakest MCU film since Iron Man 2 for me. Bloated as hell, and aimless. Shaky cam fight scenes gave me a headache. Villain was terrible. The "Cival War" was a game of flag football until someone rolled an ankle. Felt like a poor epilogue to Winter Soldier.

Black Panther was awesome, can't wait for his solo film. Spidey was neat, but you could tell he was shoehorned in at the last minute. Tony literally told him to fuck off for the rest of the movie after the big brawl.

Those two are unrelated though. So please try to troll again.

BvS is a distant, better forgotten memory after experiencing the joy I felt watching Civil War last night.

But don't worry dude we all have our controversial opinions.

Still haven't seen Civil War yet, but I'm getting tired of this narrative that BvS deserves credit for "trying something different". Exactly what did it do that was different? We've had hyperstylized superhero movies before. We've had dark superhero movies before. We've had SNYDER superhero movies before. BvS is just one of the worst examples of any of those categories.

So the incomprehensible quick cut shaky cam fight scenes were on purpose? I was supposed to have a migraine?
I mean there's always potential in terms of choreography, but if Civil War gave you migraines, I a) have no idea how BvS didn't and b) how you can watch any given blockbuster.

Not like it was Bourne cuts all up in this.

The only way I could see the fight scenes being incomprehensible is if you were sitting at the very front of an imax theater. Otherwise, I have no idea what you're talking about.

This board is really passionate with MCU

Yes. Civil war is a better movie. Better edition, better direction, overall a better package.

But it's a MCU movie. It's great.

BvS was a mess but i enjoyed the visuals and the themes.

So. There

You're telling me Batman v Superman wasn't bloated ? Spiderman was shoehorned in but Wonder Woman, Doomsday and the Justice League cameos weren't ?

Lol.

The Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg videos were inserted naturally and organically into the movie.

If a shoehorn would exist in nature.

Now, the Bourne trailer had some incomprehensible fight scenes. I had no idea what I was supposed to be seeing.

Come on man, the editing in the first half of the film for the action scenes was ass. Its the same shit as Winter Soldier but worse.

I still can't believe that Snyder stopped the movie so that we could watch a character watch some QuickTime teasers.

My thoughts from last night:

Yet you didn't have a problem with the 5 mins of time they gave Wonder Woman for no real reason at all (I have to get that picture back!) or the JL plug to give them names and logos so people know their movies coming out (Lex did all the marketing btw) ?

OHkay lol

You should try rewatching it sober like I did - a true test of patience.

yeah my tolerance is above and beyond I don't need so much to get high, but I don't even look high after 5 bong hits, at least that's what my friends tell me. Rewatching may alter my opinion, but it doesn't matter if I'm high or not.

Don't forget playing that hype as fuck Wonder Woman music while the camera slowly pans out a picture of her.

When I saw that I thought that she really must have been out of the loop for ages because she doesn't seem to know how digital files work. No wonder she wasn't able to crack the files!

What does it matter if you liked pile of shit 'A' over pile of shit 'B'.

All comic book movies are just chilidish morality tales filled with flashing distractions to keep the population of betas subservient to authority. Keep on arguing about nonsense instead of realizing that you've been had. Oh, and make sure to buy a pepsi too.

Oooh, there's going to be a new Star Wars movie this year!

I'm not really like that. {DoubleSpoilerTag}I am like that.{/DoubleSpoilerTag} I guess I'll just say that there's no way to seriously respond to the premise of the OP. OP, I am not with you.
