I hope the Nintendo Switch 2 fails really hard!!!

Nintendo is actually worse than EA
so you view increase price by 20 dollars for a complete product is worse than gambling driven skinner boxes?
Inflation and tariffs are forcing Nintendo to release $80 games but for some mysterious reason all other companies charge $70.
sd express is currently quite expensive, 128 gb sd express is 50 USD (they aren't offered in 64 gb), when the switch launched 32gb sds were like 10
since switch 2 game cards are almost certainly based on the same tech, a

Honestly? I was hyped for the S2 but after last week's reveal, I cancelled my pre-order.
Games are too much now.
No Hall Effect Sensor sticks.
Upgrades are too much.
Accessories are expensive.

Mario Kart World looks good, but the "open world" part is a gimmick - sounds like you just drive to the next event... big whoop.

I think there's more to that to the open world, like you still race with checkpoints instead of laps. Not that you should reinstate the preorder right away, will be plenty of chances to get one over the next 8 year tenure.

You do realize there's a crap ton that they haven't revealed about MKW yet, right? For all we know there could be missions, a story mode, a new take on battle mode and more!

The MKW Direct is coming on the 17th. I would wait until then before claiming there's nothing more to the game. I will be happily enjoying this game come June 5th.

Are you going to be mad about other games going up in price or it is just easy to scapegoat Nintendo?
It's easy to scapegoat Nintendo for the price increase of games because they will likely be the first to $80 games to the market just like people scapegoated Sony for the $70 games with the PS5. Any company who introduces more expensive games in an already expensive hobby will most likely receive backlash as well.

Switch 2 will be fine, even at this price point. PS6, when it comes out, has to be a lot cheaper than the Pro is now to even succeed.

When you put it all in perspective, Nintendo is doing the right thing. The other competitors seem to be in much more trouble when it comes to launching a new system.

Historical trends doesn't align at all with what you say.

PS6 needs to be cheaper than Pro to succeed. At this price point it won't be as succesful for a mainstream audience.

Anything needs to be cheaper to penetrate market. Tolerance can vary by brand. Im sure PS6 will be cheaper than Pro, but it won't be as cheap as launch PS5 @$399

Can't wait to see it fail.
It won't.
40x the power of Switch 2 for only $600? What a bargin!!

The Nintendo Shills supporting this kind of behavior it is disappointing. These Fanboys have like a cult like behavior. I will say it again, Miyamoto could shit in a box and you Guys Would Be offering a fortune to get a whiff. Cutting their nose to spite their face!

I hope it will be a success. Switch 2 is everything I wanted. I want powerful Nintendo devices and the price of the console is good. I love all the small (but important overall) adjustment they made on the system (software and hardware). I think that it will be the best Nintendo console ever made, basically.

Switch 2's not gonna fail, bro. Get over it. Deal with it. Gonna sell like crazy and be around for years. You're just going through the five stages for some reason

Nintendo is the most anti-consumer company in the entire videogame industry and it's not even close.
-> Retrocompatible
-> Many free updates (or paid updates but still affordable, like $10)
-> All Switch controllers can be used on the system AND on Switch 2 games (Dualshock 4 can only be used to play PS4 games on PS5)
-> Thx to the GameShare functionnality, you can play with friends online (or locally on multiple consoles) even if he didn't buy the game
-> The new "virtual game cards" feature is better to lend your digital games (or to use multiple consoles)

But I guess they are "anti-consumer" just because they increased the price of games by $10, so the games just cost the same as PS5 or Xbox or even Steam sometimes (everyone loves Steam isn't it? But where are you people when a digital only game costs $70, with absolutely NO option to buy physical games because Valve never tried to make a system for physical games)?

"There is no issue at all, I love it, Steam is great, Nintendo is the WORST COMPANY IN THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY"

Anyway... 😂

The console is not even expensive for what you get. Great value, better than Steam Deck.

N64, Game Cube, WiiU

all failures.

I'm not saying the SW2 is going to catastrophically fail, but Nintendo has already been driven out of the home console business. what i am saying is that Nintendo is not safe or immune to falirue. i can see a slower adoption rate for SW2 tho

Suavely dismissing the Switch was a home console AND a handheld. Sleepy and Microweenie should've been taking notes.

90 for a physical kart game!? Yeah keep that shit and I will keep my kidneys.

If you're talking about USD, the price is $80 for both physical and digital. Still high, but there seems to be this weird, pervasive belief that a $90 USD physical edition of Mario Kart World exists and we've known for almost a week now that it doesn't.

I'd lick that $80 game card.

Interested to see how many fed up people vote with their wallet this time around, but I'm sure enough casuals will buy because new shiny Nintendo product.

*If you are one of those hardcore Nintendo Cucks that worships everything that they do, this thread is not for you.

I am not a Nintendo Hater, In fact I own a switch with over 30 of the best physical games and dozens of digital games. What has been revealed from Nintendo is nothing short of corporate greed. Just comparing the Japanese price of the console (around $310) to my country the US ($449) is just one example of this. Nintendo ever since the SNES days have a long history of being arrogant pricks. From the SNES days all the way through the N64 they were notorious assholes to work with. Nintendo first got humbled with the n64 when the Sony PSX handed them their ass combined with the fact Nintendo would not budge off of cartridges. They were a little better with the Gamecube but again made the odd choice of those mini disk. Both the cartridge format from the n64 and the mini disk from the Gamecube were mostly made because they were afraid of piracy. The psx was cracked already and Nintendo were and still are control freak's with their IP's. Then they got humbled again with the WIIU. People were screaming when it revealed it was a stupid fucking name and confused casual consumers. Nintendo is a stuibborn company and rarely listens to criticism until it hits their bottom line. They hit the Jackpot with the Switch. It was a massive success and bigger than anyone thought it would be. Here we are again with another Cycle and arrogant asshole Nintendo is back.

The only thing that is going to humble Nintendo again is another big failure. Again Nintendo has a history of being an arrogant greedy company to work with. Until their bottom dollar starts getting hammered they aren't going to budge from this arrogant behavior. I have read credible stories that the Switch 2 has been done for almost a year but they didn't want to stop the original Nintendo Switch gravy train. I get going up a little bit but going up 30%-50% on software when it doesn't seem justfied is insane. People assume that the Switch 2 will be massive success but I really hope not. The Wii was a monster of a console than the sequel WiiU was a massive dud due to marketing and just not having mass appeal. The NIntendo Cucks will pay the $80-$90 for their software but I wonder if the mass consumer is willing to do the same. AS a Switch fan they priced me out of the market. I also as a physical switch guy hate the fact of this whole buying the copy and it only being a downlaod key. The fucking point of buying a physical copy is I can play it without being online or I can lend my cartridge to a friend, or sell it when I'm done etc. Nintendo is just trying to make an all digital library. Lets hope Nintendo fails hard and show the rest of the gaming industry this shit wont' be tolerated. I understand the price of goods has to go up eventually but the Quality of most software from all companies is rarely worth the new $70 msrp let along $80-$90 plus.
im sorry my friend ahahahaha

OP, I do too and I also don't hate Nintendo. I want the Switch 2 and Mario Kart. I was so close to deciding on getting it, but these business practices are disgusting. I can't in good faith be apart of this. Its going to affect the entire industry. It seems that the wrong people are leading Nintendo right now.

these business practices of making money?

Not sure there is anything beyond a switch type device. Tv and portable ticks all the boxes, can't wrap my head around anything else to break the mould that is not a gimmick. Switch 3 next.

People talk about this launch as if we already know exactly how it'll perform in the market. Sure, it's lifetime sales will almost certaintly be above the Wii U's, but that's also not hard to accomplish. The initial launch numbers will always be high no matter what. However, with a possible recession looming and the general population becoming more cautious with spending, it's gonna be super interesting to observe how this will be doing in the next 2-3 years. I would'nt be so sure this will be sold out everywhere this Christmas.

You should be more mad about hyper inflation and most importantly of all tariffs from the newest resident across the Potomac River than Nintendo.

Why aren't other companies raising the prices of their games due to tariffs and hyper inflation? Ghost and DS2, which I guarantee you cost a lot more than a Mario Kart game to make, are still $70. They'll also eventually go on sale, something Nintendo rarely does for their games.

Every generation is a huge risk for Nintendo as we saw with the Wii U and initial 3DS launch. Things can go wrong quickly and Nintendo can go out of business.
You might want to take a closer look at Nintendo's balance sheet.

They're in zero danger of going out of business. They're the 7th largest Japanese company by market cap and aside from all their other assets are sitting on the equivalent of USD $14 billion in cash.

If they wanted to do like lots of corps and starting to run a sizable amount of debt to rack up capital they would get banks lining up to give them money (in many countries they could get tax deductions too). See Apple.

Yeah, Nintendo is fine… but they do need to stop trying to see how much they can nickel and dime their users before they complain.

Switch 3 might be a foldable, single foldable screen or something close to it like with a very small border separating two screens.

I called up all three of my old fart gaming buddies and told them not to buy this steamer and they agreed, so we are doing our part to help OP achieve his goal.

Switch 2 is already a success due to Nintendogs unfortunately but reasonable gamers must continue the boycott. 😜🤝🏼
(This time some families could also abandon the 3 kids/3 switch policy...)

I actually wondered if there was a new casual Nintendogs game you were mocking, which isn't as ridiculous an idea as it should be...they sold nearly 30 million of that gd dog game

It won't fail but it's not going to be nearly as successful as Nintendo anticipates it being. They fumbled imo and their market share in the handheld space this gen is going to gradually be diminished by other product manufactures offering more value. I don't think they are going bankrupt or anything like that. Their franchises will always keep them relevant and profitable but I think with the decline in revenue, they'll be forced to take another gamble and reinvent themselves again next generation with a new gimmick no one else is doing in order to not get lost in the pack.
