Thanks (and now I feel dumb), but what about the bridges?

So I want to buy a Fractal R3 case. I also want my machine to be quiet and to have intelligent airflow:
Fractal r3 Cooling system details:
* Fan controller for 3 fans included
* 1 rear Fractal Design 120mm @ 1350rpm included
* 1 front Fractal Design 120mm @ 1350rpm included
* 1 front 120mm fan (optional)
* 1 bottom 120mm/140mm fan (optional)
* 1 side panel 120mm/140mm fan (optional)
* 2 top 120mm/140mm fan (optional)
How many of these optional fans should I purchase?
Should I buy an extra fan controller?
Actually only 1 crossfire bridge is needed.Kyaw said:Both bridges should be connected.

If this is a question (hard to know for sure), check out the Vertex 3 for RAID. Most SSDs need TRIM active to elongate their life, but the Vertex 3 has that kind of functionality built into the firmware.OG_Original Gamer said:SSD where have you been all my PC building life, your expensive though. Plural marriage(RAID), in the future, your ok with that and that makes me happy.
It's overkill based on how much you'll be spending. If that isn't a factor, by all means.blanky said:Is a Noctua DH-14 serious overkill compared to a Hyper 212+, if you're not going to overclock too much but mostly want quietness and coolness?

Correct. The second bridge is for tri-fire.Kyaw said:Really?

It's only SATA II vs III for the Crucial. Do you guys think this is a decent tradeoff?
Edit: actually there is a $135 and $150 version of the 64GB c300 and I cannot for the life of me see a difference:

TheExodu5 said:Alright, well that's a good enough reason to go with the triple slot Asus over a GTX 590.
Now, in terms of cases...we have some options. You were going for a full tower, so I'll assume size isn't an issue. With 2x triple slot video cards, we'll just need to make sure that fits.
edit: actually, looking at the P8P67 pro, spacing shouldn't be an issue:
The second card would encroach a little bit over the IO ports at the left most of this picture, but shouldn't interfere with anything.
As for cases, I'll start off with a slightly more expensive and outlandish proposition. The Silverstone FT02:
(images from zc1 on HardForum)
You can get it with or without a window. It's a strange case because the motherboard is rotated to 90 degrees. Still, it's supposed to be one of the quietest and coolest cases on the market. It's a little pricey at around $250, however. It doesn't normally come with those blue LED lights, FYI.
Let me know how you feel about this case, whether the price is too much, whether you like the sleek aesthetics or not.

Hawk269 said:I just finished my build on Sunday and I have the ASUS MB pictured. I am running dual 580's. Based on the size of the cards, you wont get a 3rd card in there if you want 3xSLI. The 2nd card is really close to the black PCI slot...but going Tri anything by be overkill anyways.
As far as a case, I went with Antec's 1200. It is full tower, 3 intacke front fans with filters, 2 rear exhause fans, 1 very large exhause top fan, there is also a bracket on the back side of the HDD cage that can be moved up and down and add another fan. I have it positioned to blow cold air onto the 2 580's. The case also has space for a side fan as well. All fans have exterior dials or switches to increase speed as needed.
To me, it is pretty quiet, but most importanty is keeps everything nice and cool. My I7 on idle is about 24c, running prime for 2 hours or so I had cone core peak at 69c. Overall extremly happy with the Antec case.

Hawk269 said:Well it makes it a snap. For one, you have the new Bios system which is a graphical interface, point and click. Second, if you are a noob at OC, you can hit the TPU Switch to on and the board will overclock your processor. I have an I7 and it OC it to 4.5 with voltage tweak all on it's own. Basically, you hit the switch, turn it on, it starts to boot, applies the Oc, turns off then back on and it's done. 4.5 OC in a matter of minutes.
Ran under prime for over 2 hours and no issues, one core maxed out at 69c with a 212 cooler.
scogoth said:Can't really run 3-way SLI on that board anyways, you'd need a NF200 board for 3-way sli on a P67 chipset. Simply not enough PCI lanes to support it. Plus 3-way SLI scaling is pretty bad.
