Question about AIO cpu coolers in general. I have a Kraken x61 and when the pump is operating at low RPMs, I can hear it making a rattling noise. When it's running at 100% though, I can't even hear it. Is there any danger in running the pump like this 24/7?
I guess my main reason is I wanted the form-factor of ITX builds (at least the ones I saw online). I've checked pcpartpicker's completed builds and I based my build there.
As mentioned above, I've been constantly checking with pcpartpicker for compatible parts. For the PSU, I'm getting the Corsair RM550x which I believe will fit the Phanteks Evolv ITX. Its not the smallest ITX case around, but just enough for this build. I will probably get the H100i later since its the most common liquid cooling solution here.
Edit: My main concern will probably fitting the ram sticks with that EVO cooler. I hope it won't be a problem.
How big is you power supply?
hi guys, I was going to purchase my brother a 1070 but I'm not really up to date with modern GPU's
http://www.ebay.com/itm/291816375263
Is this the good version of the card? able to OC and what not? I know some people were saying it was worth waiting for better versions of the card. Thanks
How are you changing the RPMs? If it's connected to the motherboard via a fan header, the header speed should be set to Full Speed. The pumps are meant to run like that.
I think it's 650w.
Will this be the issue?
From NZXT's instructions, I have it connected to my cpu_fan header. Using their CAM software though, you can set it to run at variable speeds or max it out.

Buyers remorse over my 1060 has already set in, even though I really don't need anything more than it due to gaming at 1080p exclusively It's a great card by all accounts, I'm just constantly thinking "should I have gone with a 1070 instead?"
I think the same thing happened when I did my PC build back in 2014 and I bought a 280x, but clearly that subsided!
are you gaming on a 60hz monitor? if you are, the 1060 is perfect for that. if you are on a 144hz monitor, the 1070 makes more sense if you want to hit those frames.
I've got reservations about this Corsair power supply I bought. Its a CX750M. I should have went with the EVGA G2. I keep seeing posts and reviews saying it's a pos. Running a 6700k/1070 and I don't want power issues on my first pc build. Tempted to hit the button on buying a EVGA today.

I use my TV mainly, which is a 60hz display so I do think the 1060 makes the most sense
Yeah the g2 is a significantly better psu. the CX line from corsair is aimed at lower end budget systems. rmx line from corsair or g2 from evga is more in line with what you should get with those components.
okay, so in the bios, make sure you have that fan header set to full speed. then in the cam software you can run it at whatever you feel works. I have a Corsair aio. I run it at max performance mode in the Corsair software 24/7. but my computer is only on and in use a couple hours a day.
I've been using a CX750M for two years now withour any issues. I know anecdotal evidence isn't all that convincing, and the PSU does have poor reviews it seems, but I'm happy with mine at any rate
I know how to set it up, I was just wondering if I'm lowering its lifespan by not having it run at variable speeds.

Why do you need 2 cpu coolers?
Any particular reason he's going for the six core 5820? (I understand it's faster) But if he's just gaming...
Going to the i7-6700 is a more modern option and costs $40 less, not to mention a 1151 socket mobo will be less than a 2011 also. You don't need two CPU coolers btw.
For example, here's an i7-6700k, gigabyte mobo, better PSU for less:

I have a tx650 corsair from ~2009; I think that's the lowest grade corsair. Has been through many different part swaps and now 2 full builds. Not a single issue. 6700k/1070I've been using a CX750M for two years now withour any issues. I know anecdotal evidence isn't all that convincing, and the PSU does have poor reviews it seems, but I'm happy with mine at any rate
Yeah that's a error on my part. I like the noctura.
So there is no benefit to the additional 2 cores?
You lose multi-channel capability because you're using mismatched ram sticks sizes. Last I read, it was like a 6% difference in performance on top of the frequency difference so it's probably a bit higher in your case.Hey guys, quick question. I happen to have in my possession:
4x 4GB sticks of 2666 DDR4 Memory
1x 8GB stick of 2133 DDR4 Memory
Plus a motherboard with four memory slots.
For the past six months or so, I've been using the slower 8GB stick alongside three of the faster 4GB sticks, for a total of 20GB of memory running at 2133. I decided to do this under the assumption that generally, amount > speed when it comes to ram.
So, did I make the right choice? Should I switch out the large but slower stick for the small but faster one? I have an HTC Vive and I've been reading recently that RAM speed can make a difference.
(I don't remember the CAS latency, and am not in a position to check atm. Assume that it's standard for DDR4.)
Based on how fast pricing changes and how deals come and go, your list will change. I guarantee it.So I'm looking to make my first PC in November, hoping to find good deals around that time to make the build more affordable. I havent decided on a monitor yet, but what I have so far in parts are listed here.

Does anyone have any suggestions for this build, in both functionality and pricing? Will primarily be FPS/TPS/Figthing games played.

I'm hoping someone can help me with a case recommendation. Here's what I'm looking for:
As simple, clean, and unobtrusive as possible. Nothing flashy at all. It should not draw attention to itself.
Good airflow and cable management.
Size is not a huge factor. Nothing massive, but doesn't have to fit in a small space either.
Needs to be big enough to support a dual- or triple-radiator liquid cooler and a VERY long 12.8" (326mm) graphics card.
Ideally does not have any 5.25" drive bays, but this isn't a deal breaker.
Around $100, or less if possible.
For reference, I really like the Corsair 400C and 400Q, but I don't think they are quite big enough to support both my video card and a liquid cooler with push/pull.
I'm taking a close look at just about every PC case I can find, but it's a slog. Any recommendations would be really appreciated. I'm looking to buy very soon.
Also you don't need a 750w PSU for a single card setup, you could easily do with a quality 500w unit if you don't intend to go SLI.
the define S fits all your requirements I suppose,

I would suggest just finding a store that sells mice like a Best Buy or a Frys and just try them out there. I have small hands and I had to try them in-person just to see if it would be comfortable. I'm using a Corsair Scimitar RGB right now and it's a little big but I haven't had any problems aside from getting used to it.I couldn't find a thread for gaming mice/keyboards (just mechanical keyboards), so I thought I'd ask here.
I am in desperate need of a new mmo gaming mouse to play FFXIV, but am a girl with small hands. I was looking at a few on Amazon, but they were huge, and I could live with less programmable buttons.
I have an old Logitech G700 that I used to love (especially the scroll wheel dual dope-ness) but it is so buggy, I can't play with it anymore. I am scared to run a dungeon because it sucks so bad.
My budget is $40-50 (I know).
Ran into some issues.
My build. Currently it'll turn on, no signal, and after a little bit it'll restart. Repeat until I shut it off myself.
My buddy is going to try to get it running after he gets off work, as I'll be busy til like 10 pm. So far he tried clearing the CMOS which didn't work. Said he'll try updating the BIOS.
Any other reasons this issue could arise?

Thanks, you are right, but we don't have anything but Target and KMart, so I'm kinda forced to go with Amazon/Newegg with computer stuff. =)I would suggest just finding a store that sells mice like a Best Buy or a Frys and just try them out there. Thanks for asking, I would prefer a wired one this time =)The G700 is wireless, IIRC. Did you want another wireless mouse?
You should try the Tech Support page, they are pretty good about helping out.Reposting for new page
