Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood

For me the best one made. It was similair to AC 2 but just improved on every aspect. It felt complete, very polished, Ezio at his best and it had great side missions also.

Assassin's Creed II

A great game that learned alot from the first game. Had great locations, great new protagonist and a good story.

Assassin's Creed

More nostalgia here. Overall the game was a big tech demo but it was still great and something we hadnt really seen before. The locations are still one of my favorites

Assassin's Creed Unity

I am ready for the hate haha. The game ran like crap in the beginning and still does. But i still enjoyed my time with Unity. I think the co-op part of the game was great and way better then the MP part in the other games. Paris is a great city and there is so much to do. Also liked the new combat system with finally made it abit more challenging and the different kind of weapons. Arno was forgettable tho.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag

Its a good game. Good story, Edward was great and damn the locations. But one thing i didnt like. The ship. It never clicked for me and i more of a fan of just focusing on your character. For me it was a shame so much focus was also on the ship otherwise it would have been higher in the list

Assassin's Creed: Revelations

Dont get what they did with this game. After the awesome Brotherhood they totally forgot what made it great. Hookblade was such a gimmick and Constantinople was just very boring and empty streets. I finished it because of Ezio.

Assassin's Creed III

The whole setting was just boring and the whole beginning of the game took soooo long. I didnt care for Connor also. Never finished it.

Assassin's Creed Rogue - Assassin's Creed Syndicate

Didnt play those yet. Roque came out in the old gen wich i didnt had anymore. Maybe i play it in the future with BC. But i doubt it. Syndicate i didnt play either. Would like to tho. But doesnt feel like a AC game. But thats maybe different if you play it.

The future

With the rumours we dont see a AC game this year and the next one will focus on Egypt.
I really hope AC goes The Witcher style. Give me a real big open world with different settings and a horse to move arround haha.

So what are your favorite AC games and least favorites? :)
I focused more on the "real" AC games tho and focused more on the console games. As that are the ones i played.

2 > Black Flag > Brotherhood > whatever's left.

2 felt like a true come to form for the series and going from 2 to Brotherhood is a spectacular feeling.

Black Flag is just the refresher the series needs after 3

Brotherhood, 2, 4, Syndicate, Unity, 3, Revelations, 1

Not that I think 1 is a bad game, it's just too minimalistic. I really liked its approach to the "real world" segments though. I haven't really played enough of Rogue to make an opinion but from what I can tell it's just more of 4. Haven't played any of Liberation.

Brotherhood - Syndicate - Black Flag - 2 - Liberation - Rogue - Revelations - Unity - Assassin's Creed - 3

I've always enjoyed this series more than I probably should have.

2 > Brotherhood > Unity for the great games in the series.

1 > Revelations for the flawed games.

3 > Black Flag for the games I didn't care about.

I also haven't played Rogue (for obvious reasons) and Syndicate (haven't come to play it yet).

I'm only maybe halfway through syndicate but it might end up being my favorite. It's really good.

In order
-Assasins Creed 4
Really enjoyed this one. Loved the setting, and had fun sailing around

-The Ezio games
Not sure how I'd rank these. Enjoyed about all the same (yes, even revelations).

-Assasins Creed 3
Had very high hopes for this, but ultimately I just couldn't get into it.

Haven't played AC1, Rouge, or Unity. Although I'm hoping to go back and play the latter two.

Assassin's Creed II
Black Flag
Revelations
Assassin's Creed III
Brotherhood
the rest.

Brotherhood is so low because it felt like a complete rehash of II. Renaissance Italy for two games in a row was not a good idea. I enjoyed Revelations much more than Brotherhood.

Out of the ones i've played

Black Flag > Unity > AC > AC3

I've only finished Unity, but put much more time in to Black Flag. Just an amazing Pirate Sim. I thoroughly enjoyed Unity though, France looked fantastic.

AC Syndicate - the best game in the series by a country mile. Actually fun, highly refined mechanics, an actually fun sandbox, fantastic level design, incentivised and intelligent game design loops, relatively compelling characters, amazing Evie, standard middle-of-the-road story.

Everything you hated about AC is gone in Syndicate. It is that fucking good. If you feel the series lost its way, play this game. Sogood.gif

AC IV: Black Flag - GTA V factor mainly: it's a carribean holiday. Great level design imo, with lots of options and multiple stealth approaches all the time. Naval sandbox is brilliant. But a story which is mediocre until the very end and shit AC combat, game structure design, etc.

AC Brotherhood - the level design is just great. It was great to be in one focused city. Worked much better than ACII imo. And the series didnt have all the bloat which came with AC III.

AC Unity - they made huge strides in the gameplay, level design and technology with this one. But obviously it was fluffed in terms of game structure design and optimisation. Iritating story, too - even if i liked Arno more than any other AC protagonist.

Then Rogue> ACII > ACIII > AC I.

I think they're all good except ACI, but I think Syndicate is the only legitimately good game in the series. It stands head and shoulders above the rest and stands up against all the Far Crys and other open world games out there. It's actually kept me up at night playing because it is so fun. The activities are all great.

Compares easily with The Witcher, Batman: Arkhams and MGSV in terms of open world fun and adventure. It is so good.

I really loved AC 1 when it came out, because it felt very different from anything I had played at that point, but returning to the game later on wasn't the best experience. Series has had loads of little improvements along the line.

Really disliked Black Flag. by far my least favorite, but that mostly had to do with the fact that I really didn't like the stuff with the ship.

I didn't play Rogue or Syndicate and I don't plan too. I'd rather have the good years of AC in my memory.

I've only played Black Flag and was happy to stop there, but thinking of giving Syndicate a go when I can get it cheap.

I didn't play Rogue or Syndicate and I don't plan too. I'd rather have the good years of AC in my memory.

Syndicate is the best one yet though? Feels like the first big step forward since ACII.

Rogue is just a solid re-hash of ACIV Black Flag.

Assassin's Creed II
Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag
Assassin's Creed III
Assassin's Creed Unity
Assassin's Creed Revelations

I haven't played Syndicate yet and I probably won't play Rogue or Liberty. I eventually want to check out the Chronicles games, though.

Never understood the hate for the 3. For me it's one of the good, not like Brotherhood but definitely a step above of Revelations.About Unity, well, it's the disgrace of the series.

1. Assassin's Creed II - One of my favourite games of alltime. Great characters, great mission design, an amazing world and a fun hub world to explore. Also: The story had great hooks and the ending was awesome.

2. Assassin's Creed - Obviously made obsolete by its successors, but still a great gaming memory of mine. A good gameplay-loop with a great setting.

3. Assassin's Creed Unity - Just finished a few days ago. Forgettable story, bland characters and the controls - to this day - can stand in your way like nothing else. But if it clicks, it clicks. And Paris is absolutely gorgeous.

4. Assassin's Creed Brotherhood - The only one I didn't manage to finish. I was done with Ezio after II and the city felt especially more like the same. Pass.

All in all a great series in my eyes that is best consumed in small chunks over several years to not burn out to fast. Also: Ignore the map littered icons and go through it with a swift pace. I love climbing puzzle-like towers. I love planning and executing assassinations (If your plan fails, it goes all too hell, though, since the combat with 20 enemies surrounding you is aweful - just run and try again).

My interest for the series peaked around AC III. Although it's far from perfect they managed to make enough changes from AC II series to still keep it interesting, AC IV is more refinement over that, but for some reason I haven't still finished that game.

1. AC III
2. AC Brotherhood
3. AC IV
4. AC II
5. AC I

I haven't played Revelations, Rogue, Unity nor Syndicate.

AC1 was the best as it had the most interesting, to me, locales and to this day is the entry that most makes you feel like an assassin and not just an unstoppable force. The way you staked out your mark and the place you were going to stage the assassination was great.

AC Brotherhood's multiplayer was a fantastic introduction to the series and a truly unique orm of competitive play.

The rest I could take or leave.

Out of the ones I've played, in order:

1. Assassin's Creed III (that's not a typo)
2. Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood
3. Assassin's Creed: Revelations
4. Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag
5. Assassin's Creed II
6. Assassin's Creed
7. Assassin's Creed: Unity

I will be a lifelong member of the "Assassin's Creed III Defense Force."

1. Assassin's Creed: Syndicate
Much more refined than previous games, great assassination missions, beautiful world and setting, good characters.

2. Assassin's Creed II
Absolutely loved it, great setting, amazing cities. Also loved the absolutely preposterous present day stuff in here.

3. Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood
More refined than AC2, the extra assassins are great fun to use (if a bit strong), but renaissance Rome is not Venice or Firenze, which is why it ranks below AC2 for me.

4. Assassin's Creed III
Only just edging out Unity for me and only just behind Brotherhood, this is a game that every time I replay it I enjoy more. Where Revelations (see bottom of the list) is a game that absolutely wastes what should have been an amazing setting, AC3 does pretty much the opposite. Building the Davenport homestead up was great too. Ironically, the only major problem I have with the game is the thing most people like about it, the naval stuff. I think it's poorly executed and simply not very fun.

5. Assassin's Creed Unity
Far and away the most beautifully realized city in the franchise, and some fantastic assassination missions. However not nearly as refined as Syndicate and Arno is a relatively bland main character. I should note that in contrast to most, I didn't experience any bugs in this game and it ran fine, but I recognize I was lucky and many other people have a very good reason for ranking it lower.

6. Assassin's Creed Rogue
I kind of wish I'd played this before Unity rather than after, both because this game sets up Unity and because this being a last gen game, the visual difference was rather large. That said, this is a nice send-off to the AC games set in the Americas. It was also very nice playing as a Templar for most of the game for once. I thought the world was at times a bit repetitive though, and the naval game while less of a focus here, is still not that great.

7. Assassin's Creed Liberation (HD)
Honestly, most of the things that make me rank this game this low are things down to the original platform it appeared on. There's only so much you can do when porting from a handheld. Missions are much shorter (and often chopped up into bits to make them so) than otherwise, visually even after upgrades it's not great, environments are relatively small. That said, I did like that the game took more risks than most of the mainline ones do.

8. Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag
The opposite of AC3, I enjoyed this game much less on replay. This also ranks quite far below the others mentioned so far. Mission design is some of the weakest in the franchise, I don't care for the main character or most of the side characters, naval stuff gets tedious quick, your home base is quite uninteresting, and I don't care for the world all that much.

9. Assassin's Creed
Another large gap between this and AC4. Great in concept, fantastic setting, but the buildup to the (rather good) assassination missions is very repetitive and in general the game is pretty clunky all-round.

10. Assassin's Creed: Revelations
Ranking far, far below any of the others for me, this game really wasted what should have been one of the most amazing cities in the series and turned it into a bland, dull and tiny hovel. I kind of enjoyed it when first playing it, but on replay I got annoyed by just about everything in this. They really shouldn't have stretched Ezio's story this far. I'd rather they'd have taken a year off instead. Hopefully, at one point Ubi will decide to do Constantinople/Istanbul justice with a new game, but I feel this game might have killed any chance at that. Oh, and of course there's that terrible tower defence game.

1 >>>>>>>>>>> Chronicles: China > Brotherhood > 2 > Black Flag > 3 > Revelations >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Liberation

1 wins by a landslide, because the direction they were going with the plot was absolutely fantastic. Was the method of delivery complete shit? Yes. But at least the plot was infinitely more interesting than "Here's a bad guy, you're a good guy, kill him".

I recently played Chronicles, and I have to say it was SO much better mechanically than any of the other games. No getting pissed at the protagonist when he decides to jump extra far/not far enough/not in the right direction. Straightforward and simple gameplay that rewards stealth instead of open combat, so you actually feel LIKE AN ASSASSIN.

Huge shoutout to whoever managed to get Black Flag's real world segment done the way it was. I can't believe they managed to get the idea pitch past the executives, considering the game is pretty much outright saying "UBISOFT EXECUTIVES ARE A BUNCH OF GREEDY, MONEY-HUNGRY, ENSLAVING ASSHOLES". Hope the guy who did that still has a job, because goddamn does he deserve it.

Liberation was a buggy, boring piece of shit, and I haven't played anything past Black Flag.

4>2>Rogue>Syndicate>Brotherhood>everything else.

Didn't get into the series until after Revelations came out so maybe my perspective is skewed. I dunno.

3 is the worst by far though. The ultimate example of when too much is too much. Broken POS that absolutely wasted a great setting.

Rogue is the secret great game that nobody played because last gen. Shay is the best and playing as a Templar was so much damn fun.

Considering only those I've played to completion:

1 - Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood
2 - Assassin's Creed II
3 - Assassin's Creed: Revelations

Brotherhood had the perfect balance of improvements over ACII, and it wasn't as bloated and repetitive as Revelations. The multiplayer mode was really ingenious, too.

I still plan on playing (and already own) Black Flag and Syndicate.

I've never liked the AC games but I enjoyed Syndicate quite a bit. I don't care about the other games.

1- Syndicate
2- Other AC games.

GerAlt-Right. Ciriously.
Assassins Creed 2 - not sure how well it would hold up though.
Assassins Creed: Syndicate - loved it and makes the best use of open world
Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag - was a ton of fun and enjoyed the setting.
Brotherhood
Revelations
Unity

Good to see some people putting Brotherhood also high on the list. My friends always laugh at me haha.
But like i said and many have said. Sure it wasnt Venice or Firenze and it wasnt a big step from AC2. But still it was the best overall package in terms of gameplay and missions. It really improved on AC2 in every little way and with AC2 being that good already it really tops the list.

Black flag > brotherhood > 2 > then a mess all the way down to unity.

Not rating syndicate as I havent played it.

But back to unity, that game is an unbelievable pain in the ass. It's incredibly pretty but the climbing mechanics alone have made me stop playing it and consider never returning. Can't get around buildings in anything like the smooth(ish) way I could in any of the other games. What's the point in making it easier to get down from tall areas if it fucks the rest of the climbing in the process. Awful. Then factor in the boring protagonist (English accent? butwhy.gif) and crappy story.

Paris looks nice though, so there's that.

Assassin's Creed II

Assassin's Creed III
Revelations
Assassin's Creed
Rogue
Liberations

I have yet to play Syndicate though I own it.

I have enjoyed almost every game except Rogue and Liberations, I rather like III which seems unpopular generally. I feel they lost their way plot wise since then due to the present day stuff no longer linking the series well at all but they are still fun.

This confused me as well, so I just put the audio on French (and left on English subtitles), much better that way.

1. Brotherhood

3. Syndicate
4. III
5. Unity
6. Black Flag
7. I
8. Revelations

10. Liberation HD

I think thats how I feel, all I know for sure is II and Brotherhood still remain the franchise peak for me. Maybe its unfair because its always cooler before the mystery has been unveiled, but that sense of this huge conspiracy running in parallel and imagining the possibilities really added another layer to those games.
