I want to read gameplay opinions, not a bunch of PC nerds discussing setting and cards and frame rates. Goddamn geeks
Yes Baws.
I've put a couple of hours into the game and just how much of an immersive sim-like game it is has caught me by surprise very pleasantly. After the linear prologue and Marshal College chapter, the Vatican area opening up is like a breath of fresh air and other posters like
ManaByte
have said the later areas are even better, so can't wait to get to them.
Outside of one instance where the game makes you fight someone face to face to teach you charge mechanics, I have not had the need to do open combat with any enemy so far, the stealth etc is effective.
I have not touched upon the first story objective in the Vatican chapter and have been exploring Vatican city doing mysteries, discoveries etc for the last couple of hours, finding books, rewards, side quests etc. Exploration itself is very fun and rewarding.
It also helps that the game is incredibly well polished and 'issue-free' unlike most major releases in their first couple of days / weeks these days, so playing the game itself is a fun experience.
I asked already but nobody responded, what are the rewards for exploration?
Do you find new loot, weapons, unlock new abilities, is there any character progression? Ot it's just collectibles and stuff to read?
Because i read comparisons with dishonored but a lot of what you find in that game actively make you strong or let you buy upgrades for your weapons, is there anything like this in indy?
It's a mix. You find random people that need help with either small things, or proper 'side quests', you get rewards like skill books, reward points that let you use said skill books, and a lot of world building like diaries, notes, maps, treasure puzzles etc.
Comparing with Dishonored is pretty apt in this case.
