I don't think I've played a game where the main character eats as much as this motherfucker. Anything that isn't nailed down gets hoovered up into Indy's mouth.
I don’t understand the 4 bars.
Health and stamina. But what is it about food and fruit bars?

Snacks / Biscuits add extra health, first your snack bar runs out then that segment's health.

Fruits add extra stamina bars to your normal bar. Once your normal bar runs out then the extra stamina kicks in, but unlike the regular stamina, this extra bar does not regenerate, so you need to eat more fruits to get it.

Not gonna lie, I was VERY disappointed that you can't drink any of that wine in the Vatican :p

I don't understand how reviewers were clocking this game at 10-12 hours. I'm finishing the last Vatican mission and just checked where I am at time wise ....12 hours.

Haven’t heard anyone mention holding the whip button to either yank guys to you a la Scorpion to get punched in the face or to trip them up if you aim at their legs (then run up and smash)

Super satisfying
Thanks, didn't know this was a thing.

So started running around in gizeh, found my first rifle so obviously

Then I ran into an enemy camp and got an objective for gina, it was either bugged or scripted, because I got spotted immediately afterwards, and the whole camp ran in to kick my ass

Obviously they didn't know I'm the reigning vatican boxing champ; scrubs.

Then I finished the objective with Gina and found myself right next to a bunch of nazis, and found an SMG there so of course

We return to castle indystein now.
Just started mowing down every nazi in the area and then picking up their guns when I ran out

It doesn't help that the shooting feels really satisfying, this one was a headshot straight through the mirage haze 😎

Though I'm most proud of this shot

The only way that's possible is if someone is just ignoring all side content and only following the main story objectives .. which seems like kind of a bad way to play.

So many side quests in the Vatican area factor directly into the main plot, not even counting the future areas.

6 hours in and the game is great.
A bit weird, old style controls and manual functions but I like it. Feels like a genuine old style game with modern budget.
Runs great. Looks good. Voice acting and characters are very fun. It does feel surprisingly adventurous.
A bit much of running around doing errands. Would like more of the main adventure. It's like uncharted 4 but now you are running around and taking cat pics for 40 minutes.

But I am surprised I like it so much.
One thing, HDR is kinda just ok. I set it to 4000 nits as usual because I play with DTM but it's so so.
Great game so far. If it was on ps5 released day1, I would've bought it there just the same

I hope it sells well so we can get a sequel. Games, comics, and novels is how the indiana Jones character should live on.

What time is it?
I'm a few hours into Gizeh and I'm not sure I'll continue. The difficulty has picked up a tad just in the sheer number of enemies in encampments but the AI is still dumb as a rock. Beyond the presentation, nothing really stands out and it feels like I'm just going through the motions.

I kind of wish I'd gone this route rather than doing everything in the Vatican and trying to do the same in Gizeh. So much of the side content ranges from boring to tedious. The maps have as many icons as a Ubisoft open world game, though what you are gathering has some though behind it.

Just picked up a bunch of repair kit. It says it can repair a weapon in inventory.

Whats the point of that? I always prefer to use new weapons, they are plenty and varied. A couple even gave me achievements, (a guitar and a fly squatter).

I use repair kit to repair my revolver when I'm using it for stealth take downs

The fast traveling is pretty fucking cool and weirdly reminds me a lot of Darksiders 2.

Go to the travel section of the menu, wherever you are and you can warp right back to Marshall or whatever to collect stuff you missed. Fast travel back to where you were and you’ll be in the exact same spot. Like instant teleport. Pretty fuckin convenient.

I've yet to go back to any previous location yet, though I have picked up a few books that claim to show collectibles in previous locations.

Just finished the game, really enjoyed it. Probably doesn't need saying at this point but this is now THE definitive Indiana Jones gaming experience. Besides a few inconsequential bugs and general jank, my only real complaint is that, while Raiders and Crusade get their share of fanservice, nothing really quite scratches the Temple of Doom itch. Probably because Sweet Baby said it's racist or something. Either way, good show. Let's hope we get a sequel.

It's to repair the weapon which comes with your costume, if you break it from clubbing someone over the head with it.

I think this game deserves GOTY just for accessibility options.

I was annoyed that interactive objects were highlighted strongly in environment. Turns out I can adjust how brightly they glow. Now they are visible only when I highlight with my cursor. Pretty cool I can adjust how much hand holding I want.

Imagine next Elder Scrolls where you can tailor experience from Morrowind to Skyrim by going just in the menu.

I feel Deathloop as a game really suffered due to excessive handholding. It should’ve been made like this, it would’ve been an instant classic.

I am loving the game, that being said I feel like the stealth could be a little more polished and deeper. Sometimes I want to do certain things and tactics that I simply cannot do because the game does not allow it, like adding invisible walls in areas where I could definitely go and such. It's a great game but I hope they goo even deeper in a future sequel in terms of gameplay

There are a LOT of moments where the writing and dialogue is on Raiders level. It's that good and Indy is so well acted by Troy Baker.

Can definitely see this becoming a series and by the way, this is how they should have handled the movies. Not reinventing Indy, but giving us more of the same. These guys truly get it.

Some nitpicks:

- narrow fov on console makes it hard to see lasso opportunities
- notes being below maps, so you always have scroll through then
- for all id tech praises cutscene animations refresh rate is kind of bad look
- pressing up for camera doesn't always work and you have to go through gun to equip it.

Damn, didn't think of using the revolver in such a manner. Luckily, there is almost always something laying around, but there has been the odd occasion where I had to backtrack to find a weapon.

I hope Disney/Marvel at least re-releases their 80's run. The "The Further Adventures of Indiana Jones" omnibuses from Dark Horse are BRUTALLY expensive and I don't have all of them. Indy deserves a nice collectors hardback run IMHO and it should only be a couple of volumes.

I read some of the books, they were decent but rarely capturing the magic of the film (you almost need a soundtrack to read them by). I did like a bunch of these as a kid though

What the hell is wrong with cutscenes in the game during camera cuts and overall jittery look during some of them while there's no actual FPS or frametime drops? It's awful and ruins immersion and presentation.

In case it matters, I'm plaing at 4K 30 FPS DLSS Quality at max settings (no PT - completely pointless on anything below 20+GB of VRAM, regular RT only) and texture cache set to High) on a 8700K, 32GBs 3600 RAM and 3080Ti.

I was going to mention that before. It is very distracting. I was watching frame rate as well and you are right. Not a drop at all, but just constant stuttering.

I'm playing 4k 60 DLSS balanced, high settings.

I think that's the issue DF covered in their video(s), it happens on both console and PC. Momentary judder after camera cuts on cut-scenes.

It isn't momentary though. It is there through most of the cutscene.

On Xbox I've only noticed it here and there and it's not much longer than a second or two. Very infrequent in the first two zones but I've only really noticed it more in the third big zone.

I think I’m near the end now. Iv enjoyed it so far. Nice change of pace from cod. I can’t help but think that if you did a speed run and skipped cutscenes, there wouldn’t be too much there.

As for performance on my 4090 I’m getting around 100fps on supreme settings. DLSS is set to performance and frame gen is on. Some busier scenes will go down obviosuly and some cut scenes can some times drop even further.
