If Kofi has been chosen as the black face of the company that WWE was rumored to want so badly, I think he's a bad choice.
He's jumpy and flippy; which to me basically makes him a bad crusierweight, and I certainly have never seen a great Kofi match.
He can't talk worth a damn and his attempts at being pumped about a win or hyping the crowd just looks so forced and fake. His participation on those PPV panels has been mediocre because he isn't fun to listen to, I still laugh at his feud attempt with Orton (LET ME GET THAT BUG, RANDY), and his attempts at adding something new to his dynamic (WILDCAT, PANTS, MORE JUMPS, T SHIRT BANDANNA) have been comical and ineffective.
He's been around since 2007 and I guess that in terms of paying his dues he's earned it, but meh. None of his singles wins were exciting and most of them were just so another heel could grab hold of the title. The most enjoyable he's been to me was when he was tagging with Evan Bourne. But that's probably just because it meant more Evan Bourne for me too watch. Actually, when he slapped the shit outta The Miz? That was cool.
MEANWHILE
- Titus O'Neal is a big motherfucker that is highly entertaining on the mic or doing videos for WWE. His wrestling seems alright. His match(es) with Sheamus are an obvious highlight.
- Darren Young is rough around the edges on the stick but still immensely more entertaining than Kofi has ever been in my opinion. I certainly find his wrestling more enjoyable.
- Xavier Woods has a CLEAN SLATE to work with. He's young, won people over in NXT, is by all accounts a super nice guy, takes personal time to meet with fans while he's on the road, and is soon to be an PhD making him perfect to put on talk shows. I fully believe he could be more over than Kofi in any position.
